why do we like Boba Fett so much??

RBF

Well-Known Hunter
seriously...I was watching ROTJ with my gf, and we saw the other 2 movies before that over the last few weeks.

Then when Fett tumbled into the pit... she was laughing a bit... then I said heroicly: don' t worry... he comes out of it... but... not in the... eh... movies... really... he survives... <sigh>

she knows how much time it toke to make the costume... she even likes the result... she even... likes what I do on a creative level...

her respons:" what? this was it?!" she nearly killed herself laughing the following 15 minutes or so... constantly repeating and gasping for breath: bsssshhh... argh!!! bumpedebumbumbum...Argh... BURP!!! <- notice how accuratly she describes Fett's last minutes...

I felt a bit embarised... and the only thing I cut mutter out: months of painstakingly repainting all those scratches... Burp, and that wasit... argh!!

I don't know what was more painful... the fact I had to laugh a bit myself or I couldn' t come up with a... wel... a counter..

point is... she feels... sorry for Boba Fett... seriously, she was like: ahw... that's so sad for him....

man... help me out here?

sorry for boba fett... :p

well... ofcourse we like him, its just that from an outside perspective it is a little strange, right? I mean he doesn' t do much in the movies really... so what's your story behind the Fett obsession?

Yes, he makes it out of the pit and continues on doing what he does best. He has no cares, no worries and just gets the job done no matter what it takes.

The books teach so much more of his tactics and abilities and gives me a much better understanding of his character. He's got great weapons, great gadgets and an awesome suit.

But in the end, He's Boba Fett! What is not to like about him?:D

....it's why I made an ESB costume.....pure cool, cool, cool all the way through 'til his triumphant departure with his "cargo".8);)8) Even takes some good shots at Luke to keep him at bay and coax him into his trap with Vader. Basically two bounties for the price of one...could he help it Vader couldn't seal the deal? ;)

Lucas has said that the ROTJ death of him was in a way his own sick sense of humor coming through. He knew how popular Boba Fett was getting even before the release of ROTJ. It doesn't bother me or detract from Boba's nature of being the galaxies best bounty hunter.

Yeah, I agree. The books explain in better detail the background of this superbly trained warrior. Everything about Boba Fett is appealing. His spaceship, training, tactics, background (books and movies), weapons, and adventures are totally awesome! His armor and gear are among some of the coolest in the Star Wars universe (although I am into most of the armor designs and weapons). Like any trained soilder, he sticks with what works; which explains the battle damaged appearance. Although once in a while he goes out and upgrades a thing or two (making us run around looking for new carbines, helmets, armor, jet packs, gauntlets, etc. :D ).
Alright, so we first picked up on this character towards the end of his adventures and possible demise. I like to think that he has a Sarlacc tentacle at home next to Jodo's helmet.
This is one cool character!!!

He's got a great story that you don't really get when watching the movies. You learn more about him when his father dies. I mean to see the look in his eye when he picks up that helmet, then see him in ESB, you know the power of a mandalorian. heh... Just the sight of him strikes fear into Han Solo. He's the most feared bounty hunter in the whole galaxy! To think, if Boba Fett is hunting you, he will stop at nothing to find you... He's not afraid to stand up even Vader. To me, thats awesome. The vengence and the stop at nothing to get the job done attitude is so awesome! His armor even tells the story of his life...

even if its not good condition like his fathers

Thats actually one of the reasons I like Boba better than Jango. His armor is more interesting to look at in my opinion

As a kid I grew up liking Luke Skywalker:(...
But as a teen I started to like the coolnees factor of Fett.
Now as an adult.. I wanted the challange of making an accurate looking costume/prop but 10 years ago the stuff offered was not up to par...
Forward to last year... makers are better and accurate, so i bought bits.

almost complete!:D

plus chicks dig Fett!

Boba rocks beacause he is like ''I dont need screen time, and I dont need to say anything beacause I have cool armor!''....no i'm joking.

The cool thing is: Boba has not the ''I'm freaking cool and I take all the screen time and such''. He appears and dissapears and that's what I like. The whole mysterie of the character. Who is he? What does he add to the story?...

My love for Boba is purely aesthetic. Yes, as a character, he has the appeal of mystery, but his true draw is the amazing amount of effort and detail that went into his costume. This is a reoccurring theme in Star Wars. The story of Star Wars is pretty boring, but the look is breathtaking. Same with Boba. For a character who has so little time on screen, the effort put into his costume is nothing less than incredible. There is simply no other costume that even comes close to the detail his costume has. Plus, I have always liked Corinthian styled helmets (note the similaritiy of Fett's helmet to that of the Spartan's in "300") and I think Boba's helmet is a great modern take on that ancient design.

I love boba because he is sooooo awsome and he looks very cute.
and the thing is that I like mandalorians is because of him.

bye

I think my fascination with Boba Fett is rooted in the design of the helmet and costume. His helmet wasnt the standard "face" design (eyes, nose, mouth) and his armor wasnt the head to toe like the stormtroopers were.

dont know why . loved him since i saw him in esb . think i was 10 . is funny how him and his father died in the movies because of a jetpack malfunction.

The reason is simple.. he's BAD#@%! Who else can say next to nothing and still strike fear into anyone who hears his name?

I mean look how Lando is afraid to look at him...

His gear is awesome, his ship rocks. Whether you like ESB, ROTJ or the SE... he's BAD#@% either way. I mean who else can talk back to Vader and live to tell about it? Uhhmmm... no one to my understanding. In ESB when Vader told him 'specifically' no disintegrations... even Vader knows what he is capable of.

They don't call him the best for nothing.

Hello, my name is Dutch and I have a Boba Fettish.

I'm gonna have to say, it was a good excuse for me to wear a thong (on the outside of my clothes) in public. Your welcome, public.....your welcome.

XD

What got me was the nod Fett gave to Bousch/liea after the enhanced negotiation for Chewie, a nod from one professional to another over a job well done, you see nothing like it in any of the other movies.
And The Fett is just so freakin cool. lol.
