WHERE ARE THE NAVIGATION BUTTONS ????

Anyone who can tell me why the hell the navigation buttons are gone????

Usability is bad without those buttons ... don´t wanna go back to "forums" everytime I leave a section ...

Who is responsible for the ongoing changes here???

And most important question: Where´s the sense behind this?

TOP Navi now: "forums" "galleries" and "wiki" ...

Galleries is already in the subnavi near Community ... same for "wiki" ...

Don´t know if most others don´t bother about, but I hate it to always have to go to the forums-overview to get into the sections. The way it was before was waaayyyy better dudes!

Nothing against changes, but try to keep making better not worse!

Anybody who thinks alike?

or is it just me?

I second that and the post time has not been rolled back yet either :confused

For me, right above the title of this thread there are navigation links...

The Dented Helmet, LLC > General Discussion & Announcements > The Sarlacc Pit
QUESTION: WHERE ARE THE NAVIGATION BUTTONS ????

You click on The Sarlacc Pit to get back to the main Pit section, for example. It's always been that way for me and hasn't changed.... :confused

no that´s just the breadcrumb navigation where you can go back to where you came from ... the normal navigation buttons are missing ...

And that´s pretty bad.

Re-design is good but why does this mean to rebuild the whole structure?

I don´t get it.

Any comment from an admin here?

Don´t get me wrong, I like the new look ... but the usability is bad ... always going back to the start to go into subsections ...

Then you never have seen the buttons above that before???

Sarlac pit ... boba costume ... boba helmet ... boba armor ... etc...

All subsection at a glance to go whereever you want within seconds.

That was very good!

No the buttons are gone ... and thats a step back ...:(

Oh! You meant the text links? Yeah I saw those. They were just text links, not what I would call buttons. I never used them. LOL That's probably why I was confused. ;)
I just use(d) the section links as I browse, so the change doesn't effect me. I wouldn't call it a step back or a whole structure rebuild. I mean, it really doesn't destroy the usability, just a small thing some people will have to get used to. More like a minor change, but that's just me and how it effects others is not my place to say. I look at it more like a streamlining thing, which is probably the purpose. The text links may have been a bit redundant or maybe not really used much in comparison, so to make things sleeker they went this route. I mean, I've been designing and running websites and fan forums for alot of things for almost 15 years and I always went for as streamlined a look as possible and it's been my experience that changes to wot people are used to always gets a big reaction (good or bad!) at first and then people settle into their new flow of things and it's all cool.

In the end I can't guess to say why they did it, just that I noticed and it doesn't effect me as I never used them. Perhaps you'll get a response from the staff that will explain it. No worries, though! (y)

mmgraphics,

This update to the board look is part of a long overdue update. We didn't have links at the top of the board for a long time. They are only a relatively recent installation and a number of people felt that it crowded the upper area of the forum. We are currently looking for a better alternative that still gives you the usability you are looking for.
