Hi Folks

I'm looking at selling my ROTJ Boba but i'm not sure what price to put on it. I spent over a year researching and buying the best bits I could find, no expense was spared. It's insured for 7.5K Aussie dollars.
Only worn a few times in the last 12 months it's made up of

- Gauntlets, chest, knee and back armour made and painted by Wicked armour
- Helmet, jet pack, flight suit, spats, gloves, vest and pouches made and painted by Boba Maker
- Ammo belt by Mrg8ness
- Gith belt by Wistle8mp
- Cape and chest light by TK409
- Boots by CAboots
- Toe spikes by Rusty Rep
- EE-3 made and painted by Sidewinder

When you need a question answered you come to the best :) I spent way to much on this and don't expect to get my money back but it's an awesome looking and muched loved Boba

A little help fine fellows???

Peace Crabman

Tough question - and sad to see you want/need to sell, however back to the question. As a starting point it may be an idea to work out the cost (or re-sale value) of each item as you are much more likely to sell it parted out, which is a shame but none the less a fact. You can then base a price on that?

Hope that helps and good luck..

ps don't forget loads of photos ;)

wow nice gear mate

a good thing abt being part of a community like this is that no one will be offering u silly low prices for the gear u have on offer.

Lets be honest here - all the bits of kit u have are made by well-known makers on the the TDH who have well-established prices. ok so its been used a little, but as long as u are honest abt the condition, I cant see u not being to ask for close to how much u've spent before.

the reality however is:

(1) being in australia - unless u manage to find a local buyer, the postage to US or UK - thats always where I have majorly lost out being a UK based costumer.
(2) as bobby fett said - u might have to part out, unless u are really adamant.
(3) tough economic times may result in much slower transactions than usual

good luck with sale dude

Nate

One good thing is that the Aussie $$$ is worth bugger all compaired to the US $$$ and the Pound. About half US and less UK, so 1K US is 2.4K AUS.

Mate, it's really sad your selling this awesome kit as it was seeing this that inspired me to go for mine! I hope you get the best deal possible!

I'm fairly new here but have done a fair bit of research. Your kit looks great and you're at the high end of things. That and finding someone of similar stature as yours may make it difficult to sell wholesale. You may have to part it out....If I didn't just put in a sizeable order with BM I would have loved to taken most of it off your hands....Good luck.

The cheapest that I've seen a fully complete costume like yours go for was $3500.00 So I would think you would not what less then that. I know things are tough but you should hold on to it, the worst thing is having regret after all your hard work and knowing it is gone. The suit looks great by the way.

I'd say no less than $3,500 U.S. and probably closer to $4,000. I also have alot of Wickedbeard and bobamaker pieces in my outfit and it cost me around $3,800.

$4.5K easily.

if someone was serious about having a great costume it's actually very reasonable.

especially because you get the costume...not costume parts...no waiting...no worry about if you'll have a costume piece in time for a con. this is ready to wear and it's got good parts

IMHO the sum of the parts is greater than the whole
.
It seems that Nobody wants to shell out 4K for a full suit, but will piece it together for 5K
Also, many peeps (myself included) can't afford to shell out large amounts of cash
so, we piece ours together
If i were to sell mine, it would be in pieces
