Oh man! I am almost literally in the same boat as you!!! haha... I am building my Fett and coming close as well... but funds are getting tight. I am going to be getting a MKIII Supra or AE86 Corolla that I want to tinker with. Those 200sxs are great for drifting man! I saw keep the Fett honestly.

You'll find that you will have periods in which you will lose interest and want to persue other interest. You will also find that you will eventually get another spark of inspiration to continue with it. Don't sell anything just yet, just wait for the next spark of inspiration

I've fluctuated between many projects during the years. Predator, Dredd and Fett costuming not to mention my passion for chopping and building custom bikes. It is a case of running hot and cold, but if you sell it, now that you are close you'll regret it when the urge takes hold of you again. So stick it in a big box, label clearly and bung it in the back of your closet for another time. :)

I have been working on Fett since 1998. I "finished" what I like to call my beta version in 99, it was horrible, but that's another story. Anyway I have been working on my current version, version 1.0 basically since then. I have periods of hot and cold of working on it. I'm fairly close to finishing now, but then I'm sure I will start the cycle of upgrading. At this point I have never sold anything as I know I would regret doing so.

Exactly, that's what I have learned in all these years that I have been into the Fett costuming.

So, you must keep the stuff with you.

:cheers

I gotta agree!!!!! there are periods of intense creativity when you have all kinds of Fett enthusiasm, and then periods where you won't feel like doing anything!!!! At least thats the way it goes for me. Usually will work on it intensly for about 3 months or so, then take a break for a while. I didn't do anything for a year one time!!!

I'd keep it bro!!! You will come back to it eventually!!!
D

Dont sell it bro. If you sell it you will eventually want to start again, and then...$$$ 0,00. You have to start all over again.

I see what u mean and the fact I never finshed any project I started makes selling fell even worst...I still have the body of an rc wooded boat I never finished. But my car took the palce of that hobbie

Hold out just a bit longer. DOn't sell unless you really need to.
I've bounced between my Fett, music, paintings, photoshop, and my '65 AMC Rambler for almost 2 years now and I don't know what I would do if I got rid of any of them! They all mean so much to me.

Thats a tough one, I'd say keep the Fett. I sold mine last year due to needing the cash after working on it for what, I think 5 years. It kills me that I did when I was soooooo close, but alas I am starting over which also kills me. LOL
The car thing is a hard one too, I've been building my 05 EVO and that will suck you dry financially too. Try to make a happy medium and keep yourself from regretting it down the road, they both require alot of time, money and work.
As well as giving you a sense of a great deal of accomplishment for both!!!!

When ever I feel like I'm losing interest, I play Carbon Freeze/Luke Pursues the Captives/Departure of Boba Fett soundtrack from ESB and I get right back in the mood. Especially at 3:35 and 7:31. Thats just my cure.

Tell me about it. My projects:
64 Impala SS restoration
06 Evo IX
Clonetrooper, ongoing for about 2 years
Jango, pieces here and there
Boba, same as jango
Aliens Colonial Marine

Just cant seem to finish any. Will work on each here and there.

I have found trooping my Fett to be great enjoyment. I have had tons of bikes in the past. When I got into it a little more seriously and for example I had a £6000 spanking new Fireblade sat about waiting for decent weather and the boys free to get out for a good blast. When I sold it due to lack of use I lost ££££. I find it easier to have a pile of cash tied up in something that does not have a running cost, the insurance for having that bike sit there was disgusting!

My Fett only comes out a number of times a year but when he does it is all worth while.

Hope that helps some bud.

Don't sell it, just put it on hold for now. When I had my bike I put all of my money into that and just paused my Fett. I still have yet to resume, but I'm happy I didn't sell anything.

You making a track car only? That will make you go down the spiral of infernal money spending... there is no limit to how much you can spend and you will never have a car that will retain it's value and added value with the modifications... unless it's really something else and you will have to sink way too much money for a car.

200sx SE-R are not for drifting people... it is a FWD car NOT a RWD.

Finish your Fett and buy a house... that's what I did and really don't regret it!!!

I was just about to ask about this. Pretty sure that's why no one uses them for drifting. only 240's. My friend had an s13 that he built up with the help of his friend who is a huge head in the d1 scene. He sold it cause it cost way too much to keep up and do on a consistent basis. Stick to your fett. Cars are always a bad investment unless it's a classic.
