What a truly amazing event and evening - The JB Project

Wow.... It is late and I mean really late, but we just got in from Philip Wise's (of rebelscum.com) museum where I had one of the most memorable TDH related evenings that I have ever had the privelage to be a part of. I am sure there are few here that don't know about Spideyfett and friends little project to build and present Jeremy Bulloch with his very own ESB style costume. This project has been tried numerous times before but THIS time it was seen through to completion thanks to the generous donation of so many TDH members and the hard work of some of our most talented artists. The result? An absolutely STUNNING representation of the best TDH has to offer. The suit was absolutely amazing. More amazing still was Jeremy's willingness to suit up for a short but fun photo shoot. We got some great pics that I hope to share with you all over the next few days, but I just wanted to get a couple thrown up this evening and say congratulations to all of you who participated. You have amazed and impressed me beyond words. You talent is only overshadowed by your generosity. I am humbled and proud to have been included in this project.

It's like putting crown back on the king's head. Awesome!!! Just the concept of this project is fantastic, and the stunning results of the combined efforts on that costume makes the project a huge success. Wish I could have been part of it.

Simply amazing, the suit is absolutely brilliant, that has raised the bar for ESB suits, I bet Jeremy was blown away, and felt like you'd found the real ESB suit for him.

This is probably the best thing ive ever seen on TDH and really goes to show the real spirit of TDH and how everyone pulls together, which you just dont get on any of the other prop forums.

Well done to everyone involved, the skills of the people here are immense, the finish on that suit and the workmanship is prob a million times better than the real deal.

Jeremy is a lucky guy to have this suit, but the real winners are TDH, you guys rock, your generosity and spirit show no boundaries

You gotta wonder if JB had any idea when he first took the part of this bounty hunter with no face that he would be such a fan icon. It certainly is very exciting to have him connected with TDH in this way... even if some of us can only experience the whole thing from home on our computers.

that is a beautiful sight to see! it's so awesome seeing the original Fett in his own gear!

One of the best parts of the night was after we took photos of the suit on the mannequin. The suit needed to have a final fitting done and needed to have adjustments made to fit Jeremy perfectly. Sitting back and watching almost a dozen TDH guys from all over the country, in one room working together was just inspiring. You have one guy dremeling, another painting, another sewing, another helping Jeremy with the parts.... It was just great to see everyone together and working as one and the results were well worth it.

What a wonderful way to preserve the art form and honor a character, and the REAL man behind the helmet, whom we all admire the same. this is so cool to finally see this project come true! SO AWESOME! Great job to everyone involved, it really looked like a great time!

To everyone involved in this project, you've done an outstanding job! I am simply amazed at the level of detail that went into this project. And to see Jeremy dress as Fett once again gave me chills down my spine. My bucket off to everyone who made this possible, and especially to Jeremy who brought life to one of the most exciting and enigmatic characters in the Star Wars universe. I am truly in awe!

So, did Mr. Bulloch find this suit lighter than the movie version??

I can't say enough about this event. I had a really good time at the mixxer and as well as the convention and at philips shop. I was completely amaized!! It took me a hour or 2 just to take it all in. And the movie theather was awsome!! Again thank you spideyfett for helping me out figure out how to get around up there. I hope to see all you guys again soon. It was really great to put faces to names.

I'll post a more lengthy reply later tonight, but several people have asked what Mr. Bulloch's reaction was.

You had to be there. He was completely blown away! He went so far as to pick up a microphone and 'gawk' to the audience while he admired all the details about the suit as he circled the display. Later that night, while wearing it, he was just like a kid! Not only was he a pleasure to work with, he really enjoyed himself throughout the day.

I'm sure others will chime in on the event once the euphoria wears down bit, and there will be more pics and video links of the presentation, the dinner and the photo shoot on the way.

j/k Sorry, I couldn't resist! Jeremy was very very excited and was sooooo thankful and very gracious. He truly appreciated the efforts of everyone and was very enthusiastic about getting in the suit and doing pictures. He looked very very handsome in the suit, a true gentleman

While Jeremy was going thru the photo shoot I had a chance to speak with his wife. I asked her how he felt about the whole thing....she told me that he was so excited that she thought he really wanted to wear it on the plane flight back.

You could just tell how much he enjoyed the entire event.

OK, one more pic before we get back on the plane to head home... I didn't know if this would work or not, but I think it turned out really well.

I completely forgot this was this weekend! I had another big event this weekend so couldn't have been there anyways, but would have loved it if I could.

The costume looks great and Jeremy looks awesom in it. He definately still holds himself exactly like he did in the movie.

Seriously though, you need to tell us (those aspiring photographers) how you set-up the shoot.

I got to see Art set up, its like looking at NASA set up something speical, everything that to be oh soo perfect, and the results were amazing.

This is a truely amazing project that you all have undertaken. I have been watching the progress with great interest and am floored at how beautiful the finished product ended up. It is truely an honor to be amongst so many talented artizans. My hats off to you all.

Looks like it turned out to be an awesome night. Sorry I had to leave without saying good-bye to some of you. It was already after 10pm, and y'all were still fitting Mr. Bullock! If I didn't have to get up and go to work at 4AM, I'd have hung around longer.

Great seeing some of you again, and meeting others for the first time. I had the pleasure of handing Mr. Bullock his first drink at the party. Alex, I didn't get around to getting my shirt (your wife was missing when I was heading out) so hold one for me!!!

Where do I begin.. So much good, and all in a matter of hours…Just “Amazing”.

I wanted to start this thread mainly to say Thanks.
Thanks to everyone involved, everyone that helped, and to everyone that came in for the event and supported the Project.
Words can not say how I feel about these last few months and the support that was given from the members of this community and from those outside TDH as well.
I want everyone on this board to know that this was an “all hands on deck" project, and if you are a member here you should be PROUD of your Administration and your fellow TDH members….because they ALL did a Fantastic job in representing the talents of this community.

This IS and always will be a very unique community in my eyes…in that WE ARE a community… as apposed to other fan costuming forums.
This project and this goal, to me, is what The Dented Helmet is all about, and to see members of this community come together and to help complete and commemorate this event is something I will never forget…and for me, was a life changing event, and without a doubt the peek of my Star Wars and Boba Fett life.

Who would have thought that this simple project would end up being something bigger than what we all expected?
I will always remember the events of this weekend….Just being in the presence of many that I have come to respect… and for one day and for one moment everyone was an equal, as it should be.
I will always remember looking up and seeing Brak’s Buddy and Fettpride discussing Fett props and theories…or Batninja and 99Centtaco talking about ammo belts and leather… or Me, Superjedi and Man of Wars Studios talking paints….or all the other things that were discussed that night, all because this one project brought us together to do so. I may have been leading the project, but as someone that had every vantage point and every talented member at my disposal you guys and gals made it easy for me, and for that I am truly greatful.:thumbup

Because of this project I have made new friends, and reconnected with old ones….but most importantly I have made life long friends.
I owe a lot of gratitude to everyone that helped and supported the event throughout….I wish all of you could have be there to see Jeremy's face when the drape was removed..it was a moment I will never forget, and was worth every sweat and tear.
Again this whole process and series of events was inspiring and life changing for me…and words can’t say what needs to be said after something like this.

Man of War Studios (Christian) said it best… "Thank you for letting me be apart of history”. I was one helper, and I feel honored to have worked with each of you.:thumbup

What a great job all of you did! Thanks for sharing the experience with us. Even though some of us were only spectators through this process and event, it was just as special. I'll never forget the moment I first saw Fett on the opening day of ESB in the theaters, and I'll never forget your presentation to Mr. Bulloch either.

Fan-frikking-tastic. This is such an honor for the guy. I'll bet when he signed up for the role 30 years ago he would have never dreamt of such a thing as this.

Im glade that I was able to make the drive from New Orleans for this event. It was a trip I will never forget. It was also great to meet some of yall in person. There are no words to explain the feeling that was in that room when the suit was unvieled. Great job Spideyfett and the rest of the guys that put there heart and soul into this.

Wow. . . those pics came out fantastic! It's so great to see the pics and know that a bunch of us were standing around just off camera gawking and cheering Jeremy!
I just got back to Tucson a little while ago, and my brain is pretty much melted from the action this weekend.
It was absolutely incredible to see how everything came together, and I'm just tickled to death to have been a part of this whole thing.
Meeting so many TDHers was just amazing. Finally getting to talk to a lot of you in person was a real treat for me.
I have a whole big group of my own pics that I'll upload after I come out of my coma later today. I'll post a link for everyone once they're on Photobucket.

Normally I hate this type of montage pic. I think they were done pretty badly for the Anakin/Darth pics for Ep 3,
