    Wearing Costumes at Conventions?

Here's a question I need answered. When attending a Convention of any sort, do you walk in with your costume on? Or do you put on the costume after you are inside? (In a changing room or something...)

I haven't been to a Convention yet, and I would like to know before I go and make a total fool of myself...

I have always changed at my hotel and gone to the con from there suited up. I've always noticed that to be the case. It's just easier and a more comfortable/private means to get ready. You don't have to worry about space or rushing.

Although there was a small area at C5 that the 501st setup to be a changing area for their members.

For the most part regular congoers aren't given changing space. There are exceptions... if the 501st is volunteering at an event we are often given a room to store stuff. But in general people get dressed at their hotels, cars, bathrooms... wherever they can.

If you have to stand in line to get a badge do it in street clothes. Standing around in a heavy/ hot costume sucks for three hours.

Haha Apolifka is right. If you have to physically pick up your pass during the con. Do that first and then go back and suit up.

Well I guess it all depends , if you have a room at a hotel nearby well then you can change anytime, (before or after)?.
Now from my experience I have gotten into gear in a parking lot or have gone to a Con just half way dressed with everything else except the backplate, jetpack, gauntlets and helmet.. its comfy to drive or be a passenger that way.
