A Visit from the Law

Mirax and I were driving home from Vegas last night when we get a call from the alarm company that the alarm at our place was going off. We were still 20 minutes out so we asked them to send out an officer to check the place out. When we arrived the officer had just arrived (glad we weren't in immediate danger!). He checked around the house and then I unlocked the door and he did a very thorough sweep of the house (with us waiting outside). He came back out and said he couldn't find anyone or find signs of forced entry but that one room appeared to have been "disturbed." My heart sank as he led me back toward my office. We go into my office and he points to the carnage...

...which was actually piles of post-Comic Con props and costumes and pre-Celebration 5 junk....

Sheepishly I say, "it was already like that."

He shook his head, called it in and wished us a safe evening.

When do you know your office is REALLY a mess? When the police think a burglar ransacked it and no one has touched it but you.
:lol:lol::lol:

I know sometimes the alarm has different settings. Like if you have pets, they can roam freely when you activate the alarm. There have been some occasions were people forget to do that and the alarm goes off. Most of all, it was good to know no one was hurt and there was no intruder.

I thought the story was going to end with the cop shooting a fully dressed Fett mannequin with blaster thinking it was an armed suspect.

Probably my first year on the job there was a alarm call at a junior high school and I almost shot an 8' tall paper mache Santa Claus. I'm a little less jumpy now.:lol:

If I remember right didn’t Mirax have the alarm go off a few years ago and when the cop showed up almost shot the dummy wearing a costume a room? Or was that someone else? If not yall don’t have much luck with that alarm system.lol

same thing happened to me a few months ago....left the back door unlocked and the wind blew the door open setting off our alarm.....cops arrived to my crazy dog and then almost shot my Boba Mannequin thinking it was a intruder.....

Shortimer, that was me. Fortunately all the mannequins are now in Vegas, but there are District 9 guns, Jango guns, pulse rifles, real guns, my stormtrooper armor, Colonial Marine armor, and some Kevlar Helmets just laying around. So I am sure our house looks very "odd" to most.
