USPS might have lost my package

Danielle/Gonzofett sent me a package on the 6th of august, i believe priority mail even.

Since then, there have been no updates with the tracking number on the USPS since the acceptance of the package.

Has anyone ever dealt with this kind of situation through USPS?

Should I be doing something in the mean time or wait for the stuff to show up?

It's several hundred dollars....so I'm quite concerned if I'm screwed or not.

I don't know if the package was insured or not.

Ghhh :facepalm I just want my stuff.

Who can cheer me up? :cry

I can't cheer you up except to tell you that it has happened to me in the past.

You can always give the post office a call...sometimes packages go "missing" until someone starts calling....then they miraculously reappear

sorry to hear about it though

I bought a EE3 from BobaMatt I believe it was? He sent it USPS and the tracking never updated, for days and days. Because the package was "oversized" it kept getting bumped on the truck until they had room for it. It never updated and then one day it showed as delievered and there it was! it was about 2 weeks, maybe a little more.

USPS sux. Not as bad as some other places, but they are slow lately, especially coming FROM my office :(

My package is the same way combat.

It was delivered on the 5th, and accepted on the 6th, and then GONE.

Now im in MI and shes in CA. She didnt want to send it priority because it was $20 more bucks, so its says 7-10 days. Im hoping for mine this week, but we will see what happens.

6 days is not long, especially with the weekend (technically it's only been in transit for 4 business days). But USPS is notorious for not scanning their packages in between... it will show as "Item received at Post Office" and then nothing more until "Delivered".
Don't worry... I would wait at least 14 days before getting them to make a trace.

Been in this boat. Don't remember hte item, but I know that it was "in transit" for about a week before it was registered as "out for delivery." it wasn't marked as "delivered" until about 3 hours after I opened the box.

Check with Danielle to see if it was insured. I don't have much info for you but wanted to commisurate with you. That is terrible. I really hope it finally arrives. It sounds like you still have a fighting chance. Maybe the package details have not been updated.

Sorry to hear this!

Seeing that your in wisconsin, I wouldnt be worried. You and I should get it about the same time, and though UPS often says 3 days, and you get it in 1 or two, usps is a government office, and they use every last second of their allotted time:)

I was just about to post that info, until I scrolled down and saw it.

This incident was the first time I'd EVER had problems with the USPS. It was a very scary time. I made a few trips to the Post Office and calmly asked questions to get more info.

What they told me was that sometimes items aren't scanned until delivered (which is why it's called "delivery confirmation" and not "tracking"). Also they way it was shipped has a lot to do with it.

They told me the item could take 7 to 10 days to be delivered, and it was delivered on the 15th day if I remember correctly...

I'd take stellardude's advice and wait for a few more days. If you still have questions, I suggest going down to the Post Office with the tracking number and talking with someone face to face as opposed to calling.

Believe it or not, you get more results with actual human interaction. Lol!

Good grief YES! I can't even begin to tell you how many ammo belts I've lost in the mail. Esp over seas. Sometimes I wonder where they are, who might have them and what they would want with it...

I have shipped a ton of stuff USPS. Never had a lost package. Have had quite a few seem to take the long route across the country though

PM sent CB.

I've been using USPS for over 7 years when I use to sell HST items on ebay and never an issue in the states. I've learned that if you get a tracking # with something the post office usually does a better job delivering that package. Overseas is a different story.

I am not really worried yet, I will grow worrisome when it hits this Monday and no package. I didn't get insurance :( only cause I've been batting 1000 with them. Don't worry CB. If (gods forbid) the package is lost. I will refund. But lets not lose hope just yet.

I called USPS today and explained my concerns. One of their representatives was able to get some information and told me to check online around 4pm for an update.

I checked and the information had been updated.

I asked why the information wasn't updated every evening per facility and she explained that it's the facilities responsibility to update packages with tracking numbers being scanned through, but sometimes it just doesn't happen.

The call didn't make a whole lot of sense, but it seems like my package is a couple days away still.

I don't see the point in paying $0.60 for a tracking number if they don't update it until it's almost here....

Thanks for everyones replies, we'll see if it shows up tomorrow or Thursday, hopefully no later

Not true. USPS is not run by the Government. Hence the annual stamp price hike to help with gas. Notice the website is ".com" and not ".gov".

lol, they used to be ;)

.gov still redirects LOL

and yeah, that was kinda scary wasnt it! ;)

but its safe, and its about to finally see some action this weekend!! ;)

actually I worked for the usps, and the postal service IS a government job. My stepdad just retired from it,and my mom will be doing the same in a few years. A .com addies does not always mean it's not government run, goarmy.com is the site for the US Army and you better belive it's a government job, I'm in that as well lol!

I have had issues with USPS, UPS, and DHL!!!! They all have either lost a package, put it on the wrong porch/house, or have delivered it damaged!!!! Heck, going through it right now, Right 99centTaco???????

.com army scores you no points in my book BEEN THERE DONE THAT. no points there or in the postal servive who mangles so many packages of mine. It was as if Each and every soldier handled my package before destination.
I run 50% on complaints USPS
my experience 99% personal complaints on ARMY.

Its only been 6 days. If it takes any longer, call your MAIN usps office, not just the one down the street. Usually they have a main office where everything happens, and if there was an address error or something else, then it is sent there and you can pick it up there.
