Trying to tie in the Holiday Special Fett...

So I've been trying to tie in the Holiday Fett paint into the grand scheme of real world things. So the Prototype Fett suit gets painted up to PP1. That's going down mid 1978. At the same time, the animation must be underway for the TV special due out that Christmas. Notice this PP1 lid paint up. You can see they're going to start adding the green and detailing, but note the base colors. Coincidence?

Hi Z,
That's actually my PP1 helmet in work. I used that odd color on the dome and cheeks based on the (very old) photos of that helmet at the time.

Since then, the theory is that those old photos suffered from fading or bad processing, and the color used was much more similar to the familiar green we're used to seeing on the screen used helmets.

I wound up repainting that helmet later on.

Yes! I grabbed that from your thread. Your paint work is outstanding!

I've been trying to come up with a diagram of sorts following the development and history of the physical costumes. A friend of mine keeps suggesting I include the Holiday Fett, even
though it's just a cartoon (don't tell that to the fans that have made the suit over recent years), but I wanted to see if I could find any evidence anywhere. I could easily be on a futile
search.

Hmm, well I don't know how much info is out there on how they developed Boba's look for the
Holiday Special. It's definitely unique. Maybe just limitations on the budget for animation that
made them decide to go with a simplified appearance.

Thanks, by the way! :)

That could be precisely it. I'm hoping to learn more as I dive into this.
