Troopin' at Disney Star Wars Weekends

Picasso Fett

New Hunter
... so I have plans to go this year in May in my "To Be Completed" Boba Fett armor. Does anyone know if I will be allowed to carry my blaster? I wasnt sure if with all this Homeland security BS if they would ban that sort of thing? Thanks for the info!

They usually have their own Fett that is worn by a Theme Park cast member but they have let 501st mambers vie for the position in the past.
I don't know who to contact about the details, though.

So you can't just go there in costume and walk around? I dont want to be part of the entertainment, just go and walk around like a regular guest.

No because unless you are one of the park employees, they can't allow costumed characters to interact with the public.

It's just to protect them from potential problems. Not that any member of the RL or 501st would cause trouble,
but say someone acidently stepped on a child because they couldn't be seen. When we march in the parade they
prefer we don't look to the crowd either. Not really a big deal, though.

If the Fett is all you have, go anyway and just watch the parade. See how it works and apply to wear your Fett next year.

well dang. That stinks. During Halloween, you can go in costume. I wonder why this is different?
Guess I dont need to be in a rush to finish my suit then. :(

it's a liability they aren't insured for. people would see you in costume and assume that you are part of the show, but if someone got injured disney could be sued. even if you got hurt, you could potentially sue.

Let's just put it this way; Disney Land/World is a private place, not a public place. SO you have to follow their rules.

Unless you have a season pass wouldnt it be a waste to go and not be able to ride rides or eat? I could see the parade which is only so long as Ive been in the lights and magic parade once (with my highschool not SW related) and that wastes 2 hours

Hey there. I know you probably don't know me, but I use to be on here a lot more and now getting back on!

But regarding Disney, I've trooped there officially with Star Wars Weekends and here is the deal with that. You can wear an open faced costume into the park (ie Jedi, Officer). But NO blasters, weapons, or helmets of any sort are allowed. Basically no boba, or any other trooper. But the good news that if in 2010 we get the invite again the FL Garrison will be trooping Star Wars weekends and if you want to troop it there will be signups and the such on our boards. So if your Fett is 501st approved by then and you know in advance when you will be there for SWW, drop me a line and we can see what can be done(y)

Cheers!
