For Those Who Pray

I moved my Mom from a Convalescent Home in Sacramento, to a new home closer to me on Sunday. To make small words, she had no visitors up there, no one had seen her in months. When I found out, I made no hesitation to
bring her here.

Monday, I took off work early to visit her. When I arrived she was in extreme pain. We ended up in the hospital all night last night. She has a horrible fracture in her left distal femur, near her knee. Not that there can be a "wonderful" fracture, but it is really bad.

I got a few hours sleep and I am heading back to the hospital. For those who pray, please send a few our direction, or up, or where your prayers go.
My mom has a hotline to God and I know he is watching her, but I just want to ask for extra prayer. She will probably have to go to surgery today, or soon.

I am very happy to be able to see Mom everyday now, so this is a great early Christmas gift for me.

Update: Good News!!

My mom is incredible. There were three possible options, 1. Setting the bone only, 2. Setting the bone and reinforcing with a steel rod up into the femur and screws, 3. Plate and screws, which would be so very invasive, should not go into detail, but it would be
seriously invasive.

We ended up with # 2, My Mom is amazing. 2 hours of surgery, 2 hours of recovery and she was making jokes and being her normal wonderful self. When she hurts, she just says, "it hurts" she said a bad word a couple of times, and apologized, " it is not pretty to say that". I left her about an hour ago, she is medicated and sleeping.

She was not happy to have surgery, she still thinks it is B.S. but she is already better. Her pain is down from a 10 to a 7, and now she can heal.

Thank you Everyone for your prayers and warm wishes. I knew where to go, where the "force" is strong. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year to Everyone!

Hug your family and friends, appreciate every day. None of know if we will have tomorrow. I am glad to have one more, of hopefully many more, Christmas' and days with my Mom.

We went to see Debbi's mom yesterday, she seemed in high spirits but in some pain. We had to leave with in an hour and a half because Debbi has a bad cold. We both thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts during this time, and hope that you all have a wonderful New Year! I'd like to ask that you all keep Deb in your prayers as well since this whole thing has run her down quite a bit. Thanks, Mark.

I had to go to work yesterday, and did not go to see her afterwards. I am still trying to kick this cold. I need the rest and she does not need the exposure. I spoke with her nurse.
Physical Therapy had her up and in a wheelchair for 2 hours. The nurse said she is recovering well. I will go to see her today.

Mom is back at the new "home" she is healing. She is lifting her leg a bit and the pain is much, much, much less. I have started to make hospital gowns that look like dresses for her. I got her TV hooked up, purchased a DVD player and watched "Oklahoma" with her yesterday. Mark and I have been visiting everyday. Her mental well-being is 100% better than it was. *big relief*

So, I am going to get back to the sewing biz soon. Thank you to all who are patiently waiting for their orders. I will do what I can to get things going and get your costumes out to you.

My mom is finally up in her wheel chair and is undergoing physical therapy. She was so happy to finally be out of bed yesterday. Thank you all again for your prayers and support. The sewing shop is now open. I've shipped your suit, spats. vest and neckseal to you 22split you should have them soon! PM me if you have any question.

Good news on both parts Deb. Glad mom is well. Ill let you know when I get the stuff.

It can be frightening to have a break, especially at this age. It takes a long time to heal. But she really looks better everyday.

All of you are so very kind! I really do believe that God has a small place in his heart for Boba Fett and perhaps he is a fan. The prayers, thoughts, and wishes that are sent out from those here, really do make a difference. Thank you everyone!!

My Mom is doing better everyday. Mark and I have been visiting her almost everyday now. Her mental state is 100% better and she is in physical therapy and her leg is healing. Here is a pic... She just turned 80 in December.

Oh and on a sewing note. I am sewing again and trying to get everything out. To all of you who are waiting........ THANK YOU!!

We put mom on a bus yesterday and took a 2 hour bus ride ( each way ) to the beach yesterday. Things are doing very well. My back is healing and I am sewing as much as possible to get the waiting orders out to everyone.

2 years ago I took my grandmother (89) to my house and its a grace to
have her here.
The kids love her and she loves to have them around her.
