TDH Ball Cap

We have finished up our TDH shirt and are now working on a TDH ball cap.

Here is the first prototype.

I am not very happy with it. The logo goes over the seam of the cap which makes for odd lines in it. The green is too light and I am not sure how crazy I am about the raised black stitching. It worked on the RPF cap, but I don't think it works here.

Thinking this logo needs to be shifted to more of this style. Not sure whether to include the URL or not. Thoughts?

Hmm. . . have you considered a different style cap? There are some
without that center seam. If you search for "5 panel cap" you'll see what I mean.

Here are a couple of examples:

Not sure what the cost difference would be, but a cap like one of these
would allow the logo to be centered without that lumpy looking part.

I would put the URL on the back. Having both on the front takes away from the logo.

I would make the Fett logo a fraction smaller, and put it on the other side (the right hand corner- right as in looking at the cap as in pic 2). I would then have the URL on the side of the cap. The URL could also look good under the logo, but if together, would still have it a little smaller and shift it all to the right.. :)

Got pics in of a refined prototype and I think we are on the right track, but not quite there yet. Take a look and give me your feedback.

My current issues are: 1) front logo needs to me more aligned with the seam on the left and needs to be smaller. 2) back logo needs to be a LOT smaller. 3) need the name of our community SOMEWHERE.

Maybe the URL across the top of the bill?

I actually like the brown cap style that Eric posted (color too but that's beside the point). And the idea of the TDH logo centered on a seamless.

** Edit**

Nevermind about the brown color. The newest Proto you posted is brown isn't it? I too am color blind.

What I like about the offset helmet idea is, you could have your user name embroidered on the right side. This way at Con’s you could say hello to a fellow member and know who that was. Just a thought.

Agreed about the changes Art.....

As for the name, either the next panel on the front or one of the panels on the side........

The Dented Helmet in writing on the back of the helmet jumped out at me, the jetpack is noticeable but for some reason the script drew my eye to it. I believe the 75% logo and offset on that panel also looks good.

The smaller logo looks far better, but I would still move it to the other side. As we read from left to right, your eyes always want to move past the logo. On the right you tend to stop right at it, hence it stands out more.

The back logo is solid - the jetpack on top of the font could work well, but need to be reduced in size considerably. I still think you could even have the font, or small jetpack pick on the side of the cap somewhere. As a side note, I actually far preferred the earlier font in lower case than the new upper case font - the lower case lettering just looked sleeker from a design point, whereas the newer font looks like someone just put the caps lock on a standard Arial font. Hope i'm not coming across as too critical, just trying to put out some brainstorming ideas.. You can be sure i'll be picking one up regardless! :)

Interesting. Perhaps you could just make the hat green'ish, and then have a Dent'like patch embroidered in the proper spot on the front, so the hat itself, looks like a "Dented Helmet". (and just for possible overkill- some vents going down the back seem?) So the top of the hat, aside from the bill, looks like the helmet. ?
****. I may have to make that hat for myself? lol.
