SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
These pics became available due to the Jeremy Bulloch project and have finally been made available to you guys thanks to SpideyFett, Philip Wise and Official Pix! This is one of the best pics I have seen of the ESB jet pack and shows details of the weathering that I hadn't seen previously! Enjoy and a huge thanks to those who made these available!

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
WOW... Just WOW..
So much detail.. can't focus...
So first thing I found interesting (since it's what I'm currently focused on anyway…) . Check out the buttons on the Left Gaunt calc pad. Look like I've got a little update. I thought there was only ONE column of red buttons... Clearly, there are 2 red, 2 blue, 1 silver.

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
A-W-E-S-O-M-E :suprise just WOW! Thank you very much Official Pix and TDH! :suprise

- Yup.. and the Rub-on transfers on the Rocketpack white detail...upside down E's and H. :thumbsup..
- Paint sheme is probably a silver base and wet sanded and weathered.
- and there's that little nob next to the stablizer too...it shows up again:thumbsup
If you use these pics, please give Official PIX all the credit...thank you.

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
Anther piece I've never seen before (or perhaps better word - noticed)
What's the black cord on the back coming from under the JP over the back of the girth?

i think it means the "ROCKETPACK" is functional ;)....thoughts?

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
SWEET!! Looks like an additional detail on the WHITE JetPack decal as well that I didn't notice.
i'll have to update my decal as well. Thanks Art, thanks Spidey.

Another thought as I continue to drool...
Check out the knobs on the JP thrusters. If I didn't know better, I would say they are metal....multiple pieces of metal... Almost like a axel, wheel and hub…
Perhaps there is some function to it. Perhaps for positioning on camera?
Perhaps some remote onscreen movements...
Now I'm just getting crazy :wacko

These pictures are great!
but I think we will never know ALL of Boba's mysteries hehe, the whole costume is just as mysterious as Boba himself.

The piece are definitely metal. You can see it better on other packs. However, they appear to be one piece, more like a pulley wheel.

"Functional" can mean a lot of things. I think all the packs are "functional" to a degree. Sadly, I think 90% of their functionality was to power other parts of the suit that ended up not being used, like the gauntlets. As far as how functional the jet packs were themselves? We know the one shot smoke; we also know that several of the others didn't (solid thrusters). We know that one had the expanding grappling hook mechanism in the rocket tip; we also know that most of the rest didn't (solid resin rocket tip). Beyond that and the lighting beacon... I seriously doubt they had a lot of functionality. I definitely don't think they had anything like antimatronic thrusters.
-
Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
So sick! Thanks Spidey!!!

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
Thanks for finally getting these pictures out to the public! These might actually help us to figure out the ESB costume once and for all!

all I know is, Jeremy, who is in these shots, had a serious Wedge...:lol LOL!
and by "fuctional" I mean it had some purpose.... now for what exactly?? who knows?
I think a comparison shot of the back that we've all seen and the this new back shot, shows that the Black Cord sticking out was just tucked away from one frame to the next..... can you post a comparison shot of the two Art??

I personally would like to thank Philip Wise @ Official Pix, Alex & Art for giving us some really great shots of this particular costume! :thumbup thank you!

Definitely agree with your definition of functional. I do believe those hoses were meant for a practical, not aesthetic purpose.

This is fantastic!! It's great to be able to see these. A massive "THANK YOU" from me to all involved!

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
Looks like I got alittle paint to touch up as well. :rolleyes I still can't bring myself to wear the "thong" though. :lol Thanks again over and over for these great pictures. If anybody can shed some light on that black cord that would be awesome.

Bro I got that too! :o so does that mean that the shoulders are both painted red (left side - inside / right side - outside) :?
-
Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
I'm lovin the cape details and attachment too... top of the shoulder there is a seam that would enable the cape to drape as it does (not rectangle) and attach to the left shoulder connection on the JP! I know JK is gonna love this pic! ;)

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
This is like looking through "The Art of the Empire Strikes Back" when I was 10 years old all over again...To bare witness to photos like these after all these years is a gift..
The Yellow Pre-pro fusleage coming through the ESB top-coat is my personal favorite..aeh Spidey.

That cord is there so kids will tug on it and run away when all of us accuracy crazed Fetts put it on our own costumes!

I think they just put them on how ever they wanted...it's different in every Screen shot... for example the hall way scene shows all four studs being the same with the red topper on the outside right..and no gray shoulder stud...so I would say there is no wrong way.:thumbsup

This would be for when the outer threaded section (end of barrel) is wound up it tightens onto 'something' :doh
Very interesting pics as you say...

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
I'm seeing that the girth is in fact a deep reddish brown and not just brown.
I can also do w/o that atomic weggie...:lol

I couldn't find the transfers for JB's pack, so I just painted them by hand
And the paint method is exactly how I painted his.:thumbsup

While I can't see it (colorblind) Tyler has said forever that the ESB abd RotJ girths were essentially the same color or at least intended to be the same color and not the clearcut brown vs red that a lot of people believe.

Holy cow! Just saw these.
AMAZING pics! Thanks Alex and Philip and Ben!!
I'm in the middle of an ESB helmet paint up right now, and these will be great for helping to confirm what is "screen used" damage versus "exhibit" damage. :)
I think I'm seeing those brown greasy stains on the helmet dome as well. What does it look like to anyone else?

The red shoulder stud does appear in this same position (inside left) on screen. When Boba shoots at Luke. I am of the belief that there was one red shoulder stud that got moved around.
So either outside right, or inside left can be considered correct.

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
sweet pics. the first one of top of the page i just got from celebration japan with jeremys autograph, the print however is not as clear as the shot on top of this page...

Darren, that is the PP2 Rocketpack which is now owned by a high end private colllector. Not I don't think the wire seen on the ESB pack is from inside the pack, but may be connected to the input jacks on the backside of the pack.

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
this is such a contribution to the whole ESB Fett man... a big aplause for those who made this available. Are the colors greatly enhanced or is this a good start for color reference?
-
Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
While colors aren't really my thing, I think the colors are a bit saturated. I would compare the colors you see on the helmet to the colors seen in the AoSW photos and then adjust accordingly.
-

The colors in the first pic are a bit saturated. But all three have a blue shift in color. That can be corrected with Curves in Photoshop. I'm not the best with Photoshop, but play around with Curves, Color Balance, or Photo Filters till the colors look better.

Exactly right... most of these pics are ready for print, which is the reason for the Saturation. :thumbsup...little color correction in Photoshop should get you on the right track.
Everything (in terms of the colors) should be "relative" to the helmet, which is the ASOW hero helmet.

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
Just looking at these old pics and in the front side picture, it looks to me whatever the buttstock detail pieces are on the rifle appears to be the same mystery red material that the slave Leia bikinis were made from. You can see the paint rubbed off the rear one.

This picture. Make it the largest size and then look at the rifle buttstock detail closest to the rear of the rifle, by the wookie scalps. You can see 2 of the 4 edges of that detail "square", and both visible edges have the black paint rubbing off and you can see that "slave bikini red" underneath.

Re: SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett
I see, but I think based on other pics posted that it was determined that this piece is an "anodized" red metal piece...I'll see what I can find.
