Super Trooper first test fitting, almost there

Hey everyone, these pics (****** cellphone) are of me rough fitting on this new project I picked up. I've got a few ideas for upgrades, but if you have suggestions I'd love to hear them :)

Understand this was the first time I Put everything on, so I realize some of it's wrong. Ie: the belt is too low, knees too low. So don't judge too harsh. I would also like to point out that I did not tighten the vest in this fitting, so it makes me look fatter (wider).. Just sayin

Ok I do have a few questions.

1. My collar armor chokes me... How can i fix this? I think i may have screwed myself because my back plate broke and I used fiberglass cloth and bondo fiberglass resin to fix it, but I reinforced the entire plate, making it heavy. Any suggestions?

2. I'd like to replace the hinging system in the gauntlets, can anyone advise me what type of hinges would work? The gauntlets are MOW I believe 2006 version.

3. How do y'all foam pad your gauntlets?

Upgrades to do:
1. Led chest display
2. Both pre pro weapons - sling pistol (acquired, just needs paint), Uzi rifle (in process of building)
3. Reconfigure belt pouches properly
4. Wire led in left gauntlet
5. R/c rangefinder with led tilt switch
Possible upgrade - smoking jetpack. I need to find hollow thrusters

So if anyone stuck around long enough to read the entire post, lol, any suggestions, comments, etc?

Looking good mate.
In the past I've used stick on neoprene inside gauntlets.
It comes in a roll about 2 inches wide.
I just stick it in either end for comfort.
That way the middle part breathes.

I was gonna say 'Look out 5-0 is onto you' but then I looked at the last pic and that seemed kinda redundant. :D

how is the jetpack attached? if the pack is on a good harness and the vest fits well, the collar shouldn't choke.

on my Pre Vizsla costume, the pack is connected to the backplate. As a result, it pulls down on my armor, choking me a bit. i've got to work out a harness system for it that will still work with the clone wars visual style. if you're getting armor-choked, it sounds like your pack is pulling the vest down.

I'll post pics of it later, but basically

Harness is on upper chest, over jumpsuit. Flack vest has holes for the harness D ring straps to go through, same with holes on back piece, jp hooks onto d rings. In. Theory it shouldn't pull back down as there is no real weight on it.

I'll try to get pics soon to show harness

Very nice set up you got going there, bro.
What inspired you to add weathering to the Supertrooper? I really like the direction you took with it.

I really like this version of the supertrooper. The weathering is done very well I think.

As far as the neck choking thing... My armor is bolted on my vest and doesn't bother me. I would imagine it might have something to do with the jetpack harness system.

I would love to say that I painted this myself, but I didn't. I too liked the way it looked and I picked It up off a guy for a pretty good price. It's been sitting around on a mannequin for a few years, so I'm giving it a revitalization so I can troop in it. It was made and painted by MoW back in 06

I know it's not accurate, but my collar plate and backplate don't screw together. The collar ends just lay on top of the top of the backplate. This allows me a little more flexibility in the suit, but my collar armor is velcroed to my vest, not attached by snaps or screws.

dont be so hard on yourself it looks great i dont see the knees as being low either. i wouldnt do too much to the suit it's great the way it is. as far as the choking thing tighten your harness so all the weight of the JP is held by it and not sagging on your backplate and it will lessen the choking effect some.

Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions y'all. I'll have to re fit it and see if I can play with the harness. Maybe I can get my back plate to attach to the back of my vest somehow to reduce the pull of it hanging. Maybe bolting the collar piece.

I think i got my gauntlets fitting well. I use some weather stripping foam to do what you suggested with the neoprene foam. Worked great. Only issue I have with it now is the 3 tube setup pushes the gauntlet down towards my wrist.

Ok I have another question.. The back of my flack vest is that crazy lace up junk... Isn't the accurate way to do it Velcro? If so I'm getting that fixed asap
