Just stay away from those. Not accurate pieces. Expensive. They will run with your money.

I'd post my horror sotries about dealing with them, but there's already plenty of fuel for the bonfire...

There is NO ONE PLACE where you can buy all of your Fett costume needs. Different makers here are experts in their specific Fett props. After you assemble these together you can have a great looking costume. Seach around and you will learn who makes the props that fit your budget and skill level.

I think my story is in that thread somewhere so I won't go into detail but here's what you'll get as I bought my Fett from SFP.

If you really want buy from SFP, just save yourself some time and aggravation and send me all your $ and then punch yourself in the nuts. It'll amount to the same effect leaving you without your $ or a quality product and you'll always remember the punch in the nuts, but on the other hand you'll get it much faster.

@clone there is one place where you'll find NONE of your Fett costume needs, that's at SFP.

    Agreed, brother. What's the deal?

Hey RobaFett, just do a bit of research on that company. Fett 4 Real posted a link for you to look through, and Mando Soilder showed you some pics of a SFP Fett rig. Read up a bit, and then make your own decision. This hobby can become both very addictive and expensive. Try to buy quality parts from the very beginning if you are able to. It has taken members longer than a year to piece together a movie accurate Fett. How accurate and how much you spend on your costume in the end is up to you. It will be your costume. Keep reading, asking questions, and welcome to the boards...

    Re: Starfortress Productions

While Heatshock was a bit harsh, it is worth noting that you can't really search for Starfortress anywhere and find a good word about them that isn't on their own site.

There is a growing culture of asking others for help instead of researching. Not just here... everywhere, in everything.

My personal rule of thumb is "ask google first", on everything.

I would like to thank everyone that has had positive info on why not to buy from kiddyboppaproductions, shame about heatschock's attitude! but is this not a site for people who may want to ask questions no matter how nooby they may seem, we ask for knowledge and for experience, and people in the know help us, once again cheers to you all! your knowledge is my wealth.

    Re: Starfortress Productions

My rule of thumb is, as many times as someone posts asking, I will always post with what I got and provide a photo. I do this because I DID search, had no clue the 501st or TDH even existed so I searched sites and Ebay. Being a newcomer I didn't notice the telling mistakes in SFP's photos and thought a whole suit for $1800 was a great deal. It wasn't until I got the boxes and saw the pile of junk I had and needed to research to fix it that I came across the 501st and TDH. It's because of this my rule of thumb exists, I never reply with a simple "do research" as they came here obviously to do such as it's easier to simply ask than it is to search through years of back threads.

@heatshock, really guy? Dude asks a simple question and you greet with hostility? Let's display why this community is great instead of being an arse shall we?

    Re: Starfortress Productions

For future TDHers who come here and find this thread, allow me to provide a brief google tutorial. Think of it as being taught to fish

Go to Google.com, search for "star fortress productions"

On page 1 you'll get 3 links that point to their web site. Never trust the words of the seller. They'll always say they are awesome. You want someone else's opinion.

#4 is a thread on clonetroopers.net which says "STAY AWAY!!!"

#5 is a thread at fx-sabers.com with a subject "DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE".

So right there, without going any further, you can get a good feel that 2 communities hate them. Keep reading and you'll see more of the same, from TDH, RPF and other boards.

Who the hell do you think you are talking to someone like that asking for help???
My god, I hate that elitest attitude!!

I have a friend in the Emerald Garrison who had the misfortune of dealing with these scumbags, it took a year for the kit to arraive and when it did......it was nothing short of laughable, oversized parts, undersized parts, take your pick!

    Re: Starfortress Productions

thank for all your kind comments.
Yes it was a little harsh - but it was factual and concise; lets examine what I said:

"If u cant be bothered to even use the search key" - actually true; as stormtrooper guys post lists up (see post #14), if you had used the search function on here or on the internet you would have got loads of information on SFP and reasons to avoid. So the very act of asking a question that has been answered many times before implies that, well no searching was done. There is no word in the OP about having done some VERY basic research. I stand to be corrected if this isnt true.

"stop asking stupid questions and wasting thread space" - again as the rest of the posters have shown, it is both a stupid question and a waste of thread space. I refer again to stormtrooper guys excellent guide to using the internet search function. Do we really need yet another thread on that paedophile (alleged) recasting POS? But then again - its just an opinion. And like an arsehole, everyone has one.

In the interest of others who cant be bothered to do it themselves either - Let me google that for you

as for the rest of the comments - at no point in my post did I hurl personal insults or vitriol at the original poster. No hostility was included. Just the facts. Yes this forum is about sharing information. Yes its about learnign from the experience from others. I have personally learnt lots from threads by StormtrooperGuy, Dougie Fett, even jinto recent posts. It certainly isn't about not doing your homework and expecting others to hand you information on a silver platter.

Unfortunately, for the people who cant be bothered to do the simple search wont find this thread teaching you how to run a search - rofl. You just gotta laugh dont you.

Elitism? Where did that come from? Hell ask other members, I have been more than helpful in the past. I certainly have not been mollycoddling or hand-holding. You want to do that - I got no problem.

I know Brian and I disagree on a few things, but he is a great guy and a fantastic builder. I do have to agree with his statement:
There is a growing culture of asking others for help instead of researching. Not just here... everywhere, in everything.
I see that with increasing creep in my work, shame to see it creeping in here too. Any Junior Doctor on my rounds who hasnt even done his/her basic research and homework gets the same statement. It isnt said in anger. It isnt said in condescenind tone. It is just said, as a statement of fact (obviously without the thread part).

this will be my last post on this thread. the 2 points I was trying to get across obviously have (1)SFP bad (2)learn to use the search key.
anyone else wishing to insult me - please feel free to do so in pm.

    Nate

Talk about wasting thread space!! There is no defending your tone Heatshock!

Sometimes it's difficult to find stuff you're looking for, especially if you're new to forums.

I personally think it's very important that this SFP discussion comes up as much as it does, if that's what it takes to stop people buying from them.

Cheers! for being down on me with my questions Heatshock , Iam not even to bother with a reply via pm, as I dont want to waste what little time I have, I am dissapointed with your higher than though attitudes! You talk about wasting space! you have turned an info thread into sh*t!
So get off your bl**dy high horses and use these threads for info, not attitude! Sorry for not being computer savvy, ah I forgot I live in the outback of Australia, where tech is not so flash! So be more tolerant you w*nker, dont turn this site in to a bitter taste, and Mandosoldier my balls still ache when I see what pain you have had to deal with that gear, keep the dream alive!
    cheers

Robafett, I was defending you!! Read my posts again!

I certainly don't have any high horse to speak of, I'm constantly inundated with questions via pms about the wookiee builds and I will answer all of them as best I can, regardless of how many times the same ones come up.

Yea robo ask away. This site was built for us to build the best fett we can. I said it before if u do a search on something u get 100s of way to do stuff , get stuff ,find stuff. Why not ask ppl that's been there. They know. If he (robo)searches like dude said the first 3 said it's good stuff. He sends $1800 that he's out that for ****. So I say ask away. If this is not how U think it should be done don't answer. I will if I know.

    Re: Starfortress Productions

Heatshock is very far from elitist guys, most of you have been around long enough to know that surely? In fact he's often the first to offer help where needed but in this case I believe he had a point. Harsh in getting to it maybe but too often across all the forums do I see new guys asking the same questions over and over. It's already been answered many times so for guys who've been around a while we do tend to get frustrated by seeing the same repetition time and again.

    Google is your friend.

Now like I said Heat' may have been totally blunt but now who's doing the name calling?? "Hollier than thou?" "W**ker"?? Bang out of order mate and with a mouth like that I'd not offer you assistance either. Being in "the outback" doesn't justify your name calling chum, I suggest you learn some manners.

This thread is REALLY driving me a bit crazy already! There are so many things that I want to say about mentoring, and how we should be treating eachother. Basically: If you don't have anything nice to say, DON'T say it...

I have been talking with the current management of SFP and as a result of the conversation I have dropped my prior grievance with them, as management has changed from when I got my gear in 2006. If a mod could remove my post at post #7 ( and if possible any replies with that posting involved) I'd be appreciative. Thanks.

like the other posters have said stay WELL CLEAR.if you do buy from them it will take forever for your stuff to arrive [if it ever does arrive at all] and IF it does it will be too small, too big or parts missing .....and i dont belive they are under new managment if he is still in the philippines....sounds very suspect to me
