Personally don't like this idea in a galaxy as far and wide as it is, I can't see why they don't drum up something or someone new.

Because they want to make money and two of the most loved characters will sell tickets, and toys and shirts and you name it. Some Joe Schmoe or BOBA FETT? Which movie am I likely to go watch opening day and then buy on DVD?

I think the Star Wars movies should be left as they are. You know how people reacted to the special edition, and not to mention the prequels.

Well, I don't mind seeing new SW material as long as long as it's handled tastefully. Sadly so much "new" SW stuff is just awful in my book.

I do question the decision (from an artistic standpoint) to make these "spin off" movies because it does seem to cheapen things a bit. A SW movie should be epic and something special. Just a movie about a supporting character's back story seems a little beneath what these movies used to be. Of course, from a monetary standpoint, these movies will undoubtedly be cash cows and I guess that's the bottom line. I do think it's good that Kasdan is involved so hopefully he'll do the subject matter justice.
