Star Wars The Force (RE)leashed

I dont know how many of you have read the newest edition of Game Imformer or know anything about this, but this is news to me.

It baisicly in a nutshell is talking about the sequel to The Force Unleashed which will probably be called The Force Releashed.....

Ok heres the short version of the article....

Many complaints were made about the game on how things were so not cannon, uncannon or however you say it. The story leading into the second game basicly says the whole story in the Force Unleashed WAS A DREAM THAT DARTH VADER WAS HAVING!!!!!! They claim that the new game with have the "real" apprentice in it and the story will not be the same.

Some of the things they quoted that people thought were a little off about the first game were the part where the apprentice brings down the Star Destroyer with the force, and how he kicks the snot out of Vader. I tend to agree a little with both of those references and how they would have never happened in the star wars universe by a little punk apprentice.

Im glad there is going to be a sequel. Just dont know about the whole Vader was dreaming bit. A penny for your thoughts........

I think that is total B.S.:angry The story of TFU fit into the starwars cannon very well and many people thought that it was better than Episodes I and II. A game called The Force Releashed sounds pretty stupid. The whole point of the title was that players could force throw, push, shock, repulse, etc anything and everything. Basically,"Hey gamer! You want to use the force? Here are the abilities. Just go nuts!"

And about the realistics, I definatly think a guy who was brutally trained by Darth Vader HIMSELF from the age of six and molded into an unstoppable killing machine would have a much better chance of defeting Darth Vader than a whinney blond mosture farmer who had a grand total of maybe an hour under Obi Wan and a few weeks of training under Yoda.

If they want a sequel, either go with the non cannon ending where you are the emporers slave or follow up on Maris Brood and have a story about how she tries to get revenge on the empire and maybe tie in boba fett who should be an active bounty hunter by that point in time. Or better yet, just give us the game we really want: Grand Theft Auto Mos Eslies

I aggree with you on the story Dark Jedi. I think the whole "dream" thing is kinda stupid. I think it may be a ploy just to throw Vader back into another game since this one did so well (which is fine with me since I love Vader) but maybe not so smart on the story end of the deal. It has sold 5.3 million copies to date and Im sure they were thinking sequel from the git go but come on....A DREAM

If you have spare time to go look at this article in a book store or somewhere you should go read it. Its only a few paragraphs, but it has a funny picture of Vader in his pajamas waking up in his bed.

Let me guess, Vader wakes up; hears the shower running, goes to check it out only to find his apprentice in there? The whole idea is a little lame to say the least.
Okay so Marek was a little more powerful then previous force users, games and cartoons in the Star Wars universe have been doing that for years. Doesn't make it not worthy of being part of the Star Wars reality. The whole idea of a The Force Releashed game where it establishes everything in the original was a dream, vision, or cheese induced nightmare sounds more like something that would come from that guy that claimed to have the scripts for Star Wars episodes 7,8 and 9!

eh I'd have to see the game to declare it stupid or not, but it doesn't sound too promising. I don't see how the star destroyer and beating Vader is that far fetched. As Dark Jedi said, someone really powerful in the force and trained by Vader since childhood would stand a great chance at defeating him, and would have a great willpower and determination, and as Qui Gon said "Your determination is your reality" so pulling star destroyer from orbit that's not resisting, sure. after all a group of apprentices pushed Daala's destroyer from Yavin's orbit in the Jedi Search series.

I can't find -anything- about this on the net... Any chance this was a spoof article in GI or something? I would've thought various boards and stuff would've been lit up over this by now.

Personally, I thought the story was good and plausible. The star destroyer bit and womping on vader didn't really phase me at all. The guy's been trained to be a Force death machine since childhood.

This concept for a sequel just strikes me as absurd. The dream thing is a cheap trick worthy only of soap operas and Family Guy. (Yeah you know what I'm talking about.)

I sincerely hope this is all a farce. It was a good game. Leave it alone. (As if Lucas can ever leave anything alone. lol)

Im pretty sure it wasnt a joke, but I could be wrong. If I remember correctly the article had a few comments from one of the directors of the game. Hope it is a hoax but seemed real to me. I also looked all over the net to find anything else on it but the only place I found anything was in that issue of Game Informer.

I agree. I did play the game, and I was very disappointed with it. A few of you enjoyed the game, and that's great. I like how the main character was developed through the story, etc. yet it wasn't enough to make the game worth while. not for me, anyway. I also agree that if TFU was just a dream that Darth Vader had, then yes it would be stupid. LOL!

I haven't played the game, but I read the book. I thought the whole story was Bantha poodoo. I'm sure a sequel would suck, too.

I agree, the game was terrible!!! All sith were trained since they were young, and none of them ever had powers like you see the apprentice having! :confused

The story line was bad, and gameplay was even worse (imho)...the game channeled you through each level, fighting different unit types (who all fought the exact same in their respective classes) and then you go to fight a boss...Oh fun! Then the level ended...:cry

All in all, it was a really dissapointing game for me, I was expecting Lucas to deliver better (I know, shouldn't have got my hopes up)

And, to tie this all back in, I hope it was an April Fool's Day prank, or a sequel would make it worse...:wacko

My 2 cents...
:cheers

Starmag was right. Game Informer features a " Game Infarcer " spoof section once a year. Didn't you see the bogus article on the Wii Body Pod and the next Kingdom Hearts game featuring William Randolph Hearst. You got fooled my man. :rolleyes
Also think about the name " The Force Releashed ", meaning back on the leash. No way that could be real.
Don't feel too bad though. Last year after reading the Game Infarcer my wife wanted to buy the new Wii Ball controller. :p

Interesting. Guess I should have read that a little better, but instead my wife was telling me to put it down and it was time to go :D. Good to know its bogus cause I was a little scared there for a minute. (y)(y)

/sigh...

the newest issue of game informer is the april issue. and to quote lil wayne, "i call them april babies, cuz they fools."

lol,.. no,.. vader wakes, up stumbles his 7 foot asmatic corpse toward the sound of the shower running in the bathroom and discovers his apprentice alive and well, using a luffa to exfoliate! however, the twist would be that his apprentice would be played by Patrick Duffy!

Nyx Mandalore and OrtharRrith know what Im talking about. ;)
