Finally Leeanna Walsman is coming to another con. Too bad there's no way we can afford to go out there and meet her.

Can't wait guys! Studio Fett is hoping to get a table there this year, fingers crossed, gotta work our butts off to raise the dough!

Whoa! I just happened to click on this thread to see what kinds of fun everyone else would be having, and you know what? I'm going to be in the Dallas area on business around those dates! Woo-Hoo! I'll be checkin to see if I can squeeze it into my schedule. Fun times!

I am there. I will have a table. My prices varies, depending on what you want done.
I will offer quick 1 minute Official Fan Days sketch card for free though,
along with postcard art prints and sketchbooks (if I can get them back in time)
anything else or more detailed, sorry, but will be followed by a price.


I am open for commissions to be picked up at the con as well, if anyone is interested.

Since this is to be my first time attending one of these in costume, can I get some advice?? Just a little concerned about logistics -- especially given the cumbersome nature of this outfit. Do you put everything on and drive there? Put half of it on and carry the rest? Put it on when you get there?

Right now I lack the skill to get all of this on by myself. Mostly because of the challenge in getting the harness on correctly through vest and backplate. Then there's the matter of the jet pack....

So, assuming I want to be in full Fett regalia going in on Saturday, how would you do that? My hotel is the Dallas Renaissance Richardson -- about five miles away. Pointers?

Good questions. Without a hotel within walking distance you could maybe arrange to meet a fellow TDH member at their hotel room if closer and change there or change at your car. Either way you'll need someone to help you get your costume on. Sorry, that's not the most helpful post ever.

I'll be at the con but I'm working with one of the art guests so no costume for me. I'll be sure to stop by the TDH table multiple times, everyone stop by Paul Ballard's table and say hi!

I would wear as much as you can (without having to draw too much attention to yourself should you need to stop for gas), and call someone for assistance once you arrive. If you need, I can come out to the parking lot, or send someone to help.

I may take you up on that!

Actually, I thought of how to deal with the whole harness rings issue even while I was sitting here. So I may be able to do even more of it myself.

Back in 2004, I still lived in Colorado, and was GML for Mountain Garrison. For the annual StarFest, we heard that Peter Mayhew would be a guest of the con. Like having a mangy one-eyed dog for a pet, I never had to worry about someone mistaking it for their own. What could go wrong at a sci-fi convention?

The rest of the weekend’s events went off without a hitch. Saturday night, we held the induction ceremony (I’ll have to dig around for some pictures), and Peter had kind words for everyone involved.

im going, although since all my star wars costumes are still at my moms house ( i moved out recently for collge) i will probably either go as a half-life 2 rebel or nothing. my girlfriend wants to go as wicket but i dunno if ill be able to finish her 'wicket hat' she wants on time, anyone got a site that shows how to make that little rag thing he wears over his head?

I'm going to throw this out there cause it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

According to the Star Garrsion CO, Ben Stevens has given the 501st a changing room - where and how big are unknown. Just something to keep in mind as it might be better than the bathroom.

Other possible option:
If TDHers were able to get in early, as in before the con opens, we could a) help setup b) have multiple hands on deck to assist suiting up. As it stands now, I'm aiming for 9am (just to see if Spidey is on time).

Cool, I'm actually working the con so I will know more once I get there... but that is awesome to let these guys get in there and change....:thumbup..I'm sure it won't be a problem...Ben treats his peeps good.

Exactly. My only concern is that there won't be enough room there which puts us in the parking lot (been done plenty of times) or the Fett/R2 room. Also, SG will not get there at 9am...I promise.

Regardless, this is going to rock.

I'll be there for half the day in my Vader. When will the group photo be, most likely? I'm undecided on which half the day to wear it.

Lots of pictures is a must!

For those that already know me, I won't have my R2 to bring (gee, shocker), and my Fett helmet has a broken range finder. However, I'm bringing along a couple of guys that may want to join up after seeing our collection of toys, and am more than willing to help out at either Fett or R2 booth part of the day (Saturday only). I probably won't arrive 'til noon though!

If I'd have been 100% about attending sooner, I may have been able to dish up a couple of sets of lights.

It was great seeing everyone again, and meeting a few new faces. Wasn't quite as large a turn-out as I'd expected. Would have been nice to have a large group get-together afterward for dinner somewhere. Anyway, hope to see y'all again at the next gathering (whenever that may be).

Wish I could have taken some pictures, but my camera had no memory card. Alex's daughter's costume was AWESOME! Congrats to Mom & Dad for putting that one together and raising her right!

And I'm proud to announce that I was able to represent by taking 1st place in the Adult Male category of the costume contest! That speaks volumes about just how much fans and hobbyists like myself are able to accomplish with the help of our peers on this board. Beating Darth Vader (and Chef Vader!) never felt so good.

and thanks StudioFett, my daughter had a blast....hard to believe it was also her first Con and her First Costume... my little pro:o...LOL!

Members of TDH, you don't know that far I am at this time, and I also eat up I would like to be able to help in everything, but I am in the end of the world, to the SOUTH - ARGENTINEAN and regrettably I won't be able to arrive on time, I wait that in future not very distant I can know them in person to all you and to make my fantasy becomes in fact, a strong hug to all and I hope you enjoy.

Boomer, I'm sorry we missed you. For all the area Fetts, yes that includes the Okies , we need to plan a TDH takeover of All-Con in Dallas in March. That 3 day con will give us more time to get together and play as the list of attending TDHers is already bigger than Fan Days was.

My family and I had a blast. My Fett quality (yes, there's still things to work on ) and getting it done in time only happened through the generosity and talent of Evan4218 and Batninja. Justin helped me, while sick, Friday night put armor together and worked with me until midnight until I went hope and continued to work until 3:15am. Eric assisted me with his elite sewing skills and techniques as well as passing on some experience tips for a Fett newbie. There's many more to thank and I will do that in a showoff thread later after I do some more (perfectionist) work. Also a big thank you to all TDH members present for making Swartzy (Cari) and I feel so welcome and confident in my first Fett troop.

Chris, I didn't realize you were one of the Fett's, dang! I woulda liked to talk to ya! You & Schwartz both looked amazing! Which one of you was the taller one?

I was assisting one of the star wars artists (Paul Allan Ballard) in the exhibit hall and I didn't get to check out the TDH table Saturday. I didn't realize it was only going to be set up Saturday either so I missed out.

It was a great Con though, so many enthusiastic fans and the artists were treated really well.

I did get to meet Spideyfett and Darthmiller Saturday night which was fantastic

looks like a great time. i'm glad to see ashley eckstein and matt wood out there representing the clone wars!
