Star Fortress Pro. Question...

  1. #26

    Re: Star Fortress Pro. Question...

I do regular searches on fleabay almost every day, and (due to the nature of my searches) I almost always come across this seller's stuff. Right from the start I got a bad feeling about SFP. The stuff looks (in the pics) to be too crisp and clean and professional to be believed. Today I found a Vader helmet being sold by SFP and it's nothing more than a direct copy of a DP Classic Action. There wasn't even an attempt to hide the fact - no changes to the design of the mounting T, nothing. Even the auction read "Classic Action Style".

Just yesterday and with thanks to skygunbro, my eyes were opened to things about SFP that I wasn't aware of, and I can honestly say I will never order anything from them again.

Someone I know up here recently ordered a clone kit, and recieved it very quickly and was pretty happy with it.
Need to recheck this now that time has passed. He was scared of ABS clone kits because they required assembly. So he got the SF fiberglass kit, since it's 'all put together 'n stuff'. He has since replaced the kit with an ABS kit as he learned more about costuming.

I would not describe him with being 'happy' with SF at this point. But he did get it quickly. But yeah, he did get it quickly.

(I cried when I saw the kit, and tried to tell the guy.)

I don't think anyone can tell that runs ebay, a helmet is a helmet. Honestly, recasting doesn't bother me too much, the new owner is trying to make a living, and received the old molds and all that good stuff. The only way to make sure he doesn't keep recasting is not buying from him, simple as that.
As long as people know his stuff sucks, and may not get to them, I think we will be okay.

Recasting doesnt bother you? wow...It should.....
And there is no new owner its all the same people as always with a new name and new mouth pieces....if you believe that sfp is under new ownership then think again. The hostile take over story is BS the new owner is BS... it was a ruse created by the owner so people would think that he wasnt involved any more thus making people want to buy from them again knowing they could do so without a guilty conscience.
And ebay is a joke ebay side with whoever is spending the most money wiiht them at the time they could care less is something was a bootleg copy or not.
Also if it is under new ownership which it isnt the guy "anton" when I approached him about recasting the BARC trooper helmet that pghfett sculpted he replied with total puke including threatening me and my wife and children with bodily harm and said us Americans are scum and what was I gonna do come bomb his counrty...***? and being a police officer for years etc. I dont take threat to lightly especially to my family internet or not a threat is a threat.I have the emails and screen caps of all this **** saved some forwarded to the Texas sate police and FBI.
Anyone with a phone can call the Texas public records dept. and find out and validate the facts against this scumbag.Being and officer I am privy to other facts which are not public but lets say this the guy is a real slime and you guys dont know the half of it.

    Mehrunes,

My only advice to you is to not get anything from SFP. Before I joined the legion and knew anything about SFP, I bought a pair of stormtrooper boots from them and it took over a month to ship and when I got them they were C.R.A.P.!, needless to say not worth the money I paid for them! So, please, keep your hard earned money and buy from someone reputable within TDH, Clonetroopers.net, white armor.net etc. And take it from Skygunbro (Jason) besides SFP's owner being a scum it is also a "sweat shop" in the Philippines and is not worthy of our business. I know of some legion members being affiliated with them and they are being watched closely as we speak.

I am not so sure there is a new owner for SFP. I contacted sfp through evil bay and was told there has not been a change in ownership...

I guess my question wasn't fully answered. aren't there licensing issues with people who recast official products and use them as their own? I dont know if it's not an issue because everything we do is somewhat of a copywrite issue but I cant believe he's copying stuff from don post and nothing has happened?

Pretty sad when you have to recast Rubies.

LFL will probably sue SFP next... considering what happened with Shepperton Design Studios in the U.K.

Wow do I wish I ever saw this before ordering a Clone Trooper helmet off of ebay from Star Fortress. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY FROM THAT SITE!!!! I received my helmet today and it isn't the helmet I ordered, and the quality is just terrible!!! I definitely got burned on this sale. Do not trust the rating they have on ebay, it has to be false. Dont make the same mistake I made

    Re: Star Fortress Pro. Question...

you people are going to seriously make me go into a nervous ticks of convulsions. I will tell you like I tell everyone who is thinking of buying from SFP.....

RUN AWAY! Nothing good will come of it. you want mando armor, even to paint in custom style, buy from people here, you will NOT be disappointed, read my posts look at my photos of my unaltered SFP Boba armor, if you only listen to one thing I say in my life, let it be this,DO NOT BUY FROM SFP!
You will be out a very large amount of money, IF you get anything, it will be one or all of the following

    A: Wrong color
    B: Badly Made
    C: Easily Breakable
D: Ill-fitting (they use phillepean men for models, so their Large is an american small to medium

They took 6 months to get my stuff to me, they offered to replace the broken parts IF i paid the shipping of the stuff to them, and the shiiping of th enew garbag to me, which would end up being almost double what it would cost to just order another one and play for 1 way shipping.

Oh yeah, here's one of his replies to my e-mails

    Dear sithlord6507,

Oh, stuff it! You were the only guy that complained out of several hundred we sold. If it were possible that some scheme were reversed as you'd claimed, accidents happen, don't act as if you never made them. The FACT is that you were offered a corrected replacement and declined, I still have the email train in my files. The buyers post their own comments and that includes complete Boba's. I remember also that you griped that you got the standard issue version and wanted the deluxe edition, but the order showed you bought the cheap one. No one told you to "shove off" or the like before, but since you said it, here it it: Shove off dude!!!

FYI: I declined due to said shipping arrangements.

    Re: Star Fortress Pro. Question...

there is no sitting on the fence with SFP, yeesh. I know theres no stoppin anyone from buying from SFP, but there are just so many reasons not to.

Search this board, in fact any reputable prop board - SFP is often listed as a buyer beware.

Reasons not to buy form SFP:

Known fugitive from justice for alleged paedophiliic infringements.

the guy from SFP - is not in Singpaore (it has extredition polices with both US and UK), he is in Phillipines.Known recaster - heard SGB, EVO3 amongst those who have been hit

Other stuff is inaccurate - eg Biker lid

    Poor quality material, ill fitting

Poor post sale service - often abusive and I heard of at least one case of threatening nature of correspondance

expensive - better quality, better price, better QA from a known armourer

Once told that u might as well give money away than buy from SFP - or better yet; donate it here

If u have bought stuff from him before knowing all this - fine. But with this knowledge AND u still go ahead.... well... all I can say is = bad form (personal opinion ofc)

I bought recast stuff once - before I got into TDH, FISD, clone empires and other such boards. Bite me once, shame on you, bite me twice, shame on me! I learnt my lesson - always source original maker.

    my 2 cents

    Nate

looks like post #18 is where the year and a half gap appears.

We all know star fortress is terrible. Didn't know the whole Singapore/rape story though.

I guess the guy in charge is terrible in all aspects of his life

I don't think there is much worse that you can be... Recaster /rapist / pedophile

I suppose he could add murder, but personaly I would think pedophile is worst already...

This guy is the scum of the scum. Stay away. Giving him money, only lets him continue.
