Wow.
I know it's not Star Wars related, but we lost a great one on Sunday.
I am beyond speechless...
RIP.

Very sad. This guy certainly helped define a lot of my childhood anti-heroes.
That's the man who was in charge of the armor for the Iron Man movie!
I hope he passed away peacefully...
Very, very sad day. He was one of the greatest. He will be missed.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. My respect for the man just shot up greatly, I loved Iron Man....wow that is so sad.
At least he left a great legacy for other propmakers to follow
A toast to a great man, I hope he lived a fulfilling life, one with much fun and enjoyment.

oh no! This is awful news. i'm speechless...
Sad news for sure... R.I.P. Stan.
Its absolutely surreal to hear this come right out of the ether, Stan was a master of his craft and his passing is an incredibly tragic loss but he leaves behind a lasting legacy of work for future generations still to come, you dreamed big Stan and thank you for it.![]()

Whoah! I was greatly inspired by him. I actually had a job offer at his studio, but had to turn it down. Got a great autographed photo from him that still sits on my desk.
Terrible loss...
WOW, speechless......he was suppose to be at SDCC too....

Like all great icons, his legacy will live on with Stan Winston Studios! Godspeed Stan!!
A VERY sad day indeed. First Tim Russert, now Stan Winston. Both great men and inspirations to many. Peace to their family and friends,
Geo
Wow I had no idea!! He was the man responsible for getting me hooked in the field of prop and model building. A man who has enthralled millions with his inspiration and on screen creations. He will be sadly missed by all.
R.I.P Stan.
Oh man, another one of my heroes gone... A very sad day.

A terrible loss. I had not realized he had been ill for so long.
A hero of mine, he'll be sadly missed.
Rest in peace Stan, and thank you so much for all you've done for the industry.
This really makes me sad
Along with Star Wars the Terminator films are one of the first movies I can remember watching
R.I.P. Stan
didnt know that he was behind the Aliens, predator, terminator, Jurassic Park...
RIP Stan
NNNNNNNNNNNNoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
I've followed Stan Winstons career and his company for years.
I started my Iron Man suit because his company did a wonderful design....
Rest Stan, we'll keep building and creating with you in our thoughts...
Stan... dead?
He can't be dead! This has to be a horrible joke! People like him can't die!
I'm at a loss for words. I keep pinching myself, thinking this is a bad dream, but it's not. He is one of the greats, and will be missed terribly!
RIP, Stan. We'll always admire your greatness!
R.I.P Stan Winston, a great artist.
he was the master as far as i'm concerned. seeing stuff out of his creature shop was just unreal.
i wish there were more people as talented as him. Stan Winston and Jim Henson were 2 of my favorite artists for making fictional characters in true form and now they're both gone
Pretty much sucks
Don't forget about Jurassic Park, the new Indiana Jones and the upcoming GI Joe movie. Sam will definately be well missed by all. RIP Sam...
