So at the movie theater tonight....

I stopped going to theaters because of that sort of stupidity being all too common place... Being retired law enforcement I have NO tolerance for dealing with idiots...
I bought a 60" Flat Screen HDTV and just wait for the DVD's... More fun, comfortable and problem free for the family and me...

seriously. I have surround sound at home and a decent size T.V.. I calculate a soda, a snack and the ticket for (3). It is Totally cheaper to Buy the DVD. and no babies, rudeness or missing a good point in the movie because I drank way too much Soda :)

Thats why I love going to theaters with assigned seating. Muvico is my favorite theater. Go online, pick your seats and you are all set. Though people like that are part of the reason I hate going to the show.

Now if it's just one seat, no big deal. More than that, and you should have gotten there earlier. If you have to split up your group, then maybe next time you'll get there in a timely fashion.

.

i don't know if you're using the forms of the word 'you' referring to me, or just saying people in general.... the story is not about me, but a group of people in the theater, just to clarify for everyone. my girlfriend and I were there at least an hour early.

but still...it's a sold out show. 1 seat is not a big deal no matter what anyway. if it were any other time with open seats of four elsewhere then yes....the "should have got here earlier" argument stands.

BUT these people were clearly jerks to people they didn't know and didn't care to know.

since this didn't happen to me, yet i observed it, my opinion is ideal on the situation since i am neither of the two groups in the argument.

like i said...the whole theater was against the people who wouldn't move...and that's enough to pretty tell you how things should work.

i agree with slave1pilot, standing in front of them the whole time would be awesome...childish...but maybe that's how you deal with people who also insist on acting like children...especially with that whole "we're moving back" BS

i don't understand why you'd rather antagonize an entire theater of people rather than just act like a normal person in public.

maybe random acts of kindness are just dead these days....maybe we shouldn't be so concerned about what we "shouldn't have to do" and be more concerned on what "we could do"

so if you want to be the guy that won't move to help someone out....or be in the grocery store checkout with 100 items when the guy behind you just needs milk....or not hold the door for the lady with a baby....then fine...

karma meets up with everybody whether you believe it or not

I tend to go see movies after they´ve been up for a while, less people in the theatre and less of a chance there´s going to be someone annoying me by talking or using their phones.

A movie in Norway costs about $15 in the cinemas, for which I at least want to enjoy the film without people talking or doing anything else to interrupt the movie.

I once took a girls cellphone away from here during a movie, she sat next to me and kept sending textmessages all the time. I had an annoying white light in my face for about 30 mins. until I had enough, so I "watched" her phone for her the bext 90 minutes.

I wish we could just get employees of the movie theaters to double as bouncers to keep the peace.

I am a quite person and overall really calm, but if there is something I see that gets me aggravated I tend to go "all out". I would not have been able to keep my mouth shut if I was sitting nearby. Someone probably would have been escorting me out for making sarcastic comments throughout the whole movie.

That is pretty ridiculous. The worse theater experience I've had was a while ago. I forget what movie me and my friends were watching, but mid-way through it, this guy's cell phone behind me goes off, and he ANSWERS it. He had a ten minute or so conversation, and not even in a hushed tone. That really aggravated me to no end.

The Best movie experience ive had was at the original Batman movie, first showing and they refused to sell tickets to people with children under 12, no cell phones then, and the ushers were told to remove anyone annoying others or speaking during the movie.
Harsh, yes but it was the last movie where i heard every line in the movie.
After that it went down hill fast. Quit going to movies 2 years later.

I love watching movies on the big screen, however every time I go to a premiere I find myself about two seconds from an assault & battery charge. This story literally made my blood boil. :angry

I now avoid premieres and opening weekends for all but the most anticipated movies.

exactly, you know it's ridiculous when the story angers people who weren't even there.

it just makes you upset with the world...why people can be so insincere unprovoked

my friend has a simple solution for idiots like this. He has a fart device and carries a stink bomb. Any issues he lets a few rip and if it doesn't improve he lets the bomb go! It's so freakin hilarious to watch everyone scramble over each other to get away from us. We just have to put up with the smell for 10 minutes and then we have entire rows to ourselves! I swear you spend the first 20 minutes of the movie with laughter tears blurring the movie!

An instant classic! Love it!
