I saw my doc today.
He said my lung has healed and that I only had 3 broken ribs, not 4.
I am healing well and am going back to work on the 8th of Sep (light duty)
Disability only pays 60% - 70% of my regular pay, so I can't stay out longer.
I go back on full duty on Oct 5.

I also paid for the damages to the building, and am waiting on the Quad bill.
that's really gonna hurt

Here's a pic of the building I hit (from googlemaps)

The red circle shows where I hit.
Think how bad it would have been if I was to the right another 2 ft or so & hit the glass.

Not back yet.
The people that "work" at corporate are dragging their feet
The main HR lady had Friday & today off.
so...
Nobody has processed my paperwork to give their ok to go back
Hopefully tomorrow.
On a more positive note- My hands have Floquil Light Blue on them at the moment. ;)

I painted the black stripes & slapped the rocket on it just to see how it looks together.

Better?

and...
I have not been released to work yet.
I have a DR. Appt on the 17th, then released back to work on the 21st pending approval.
No Light duty at my job, so i must be released to full duty before I can return.

Man that blows about the work. Sorry to hear. I had a worker's comp case when I pulled my back after unloading several palettes of car batteries by hand in a short time. They don;t make it easy. Hey, on the bright side, I guess you can always catch up on other things so that when you get back to work you don't have painting jet packs an "honey-do's" hanging over you head.

Disability Sucks.
They are only giving me $6.35 an hour instead of the 60-70% that I thought.
Apparently, They KEEP 60-70 % of what I made.
How is that supposed to cover anything?
What really sucks is that it's mandatory to pay into CASDI
I've been paying into it for 22 years and I don't evn make minimum wage?
***??????

Man... that is bad. I thought the unions in Cali were supposed to take pretty good care of their people. Sorry to hear that you are getting the shaft. That's ridiculous. Seems like the hard working people get screwed left, right, and center, and the freeloaders get hand outs. Now you got me going....

fyi....Jet pack rocks. Really, really rocks. Thanks.

on a more positive note...
The time off has allowed me to get some work done around here.
BEHOLD! Stuff I have been painting while I'm broken;

I finally went back to work today.
About friggin' time.
4 weeks without a real paycheck is a little rough.
Thank you all for your support, both the well-wishes and the commissions.
We would not have made it through without you.

glad to hear your back at work. How are ya feeling?
I had a full week at work & I must say i am fatigued.
Took a lot outta me this week.
First day back, I had to move 600 lbs of sand bags by myself.
they are 50 lb bags used for ballasting test vehicles for tire tests.
My week just got harder from there lol
but enough crying about work, I'm glad to be back at getting a real paycheck.

Last week ,I had another follow up with my doc & we discussed the sore right shoulder and the new bump on top that wasn't there prior to the accident. He gave me a referral to get an MRI.
so...
I had the MRI done on my shoulder today .
I really really hate having to do it. i whined & sniveled through the whole thing . It took about 45 minutes of me laying perfectly still. It was torture.

After it was over, I came home & relaxed with the family and we all went to Denny's for some disgusting food. While we were eating , i got a call saying that we needed to do another MRI to get some extra pics due to the intern writing "lump" instead of "bump" when desribing my shoulder. Had to make sure the "bump" was pointed out in the new pics to make sure it wasn't a cancerous "lump"
This one only took about 20 minutes, so it wasn't quite as bad.
Anyway, that all leads me to this;
It appears that I have a shoulder separation. Not a dislocation (waaay different).http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/shouldersurgery/a/separation.htm
Not sure to what level, that will be up to my Doc to determine.
I'm guessing a grade 2 due to the "bump", could be grade 3 though (wish me luck)
