Size of wookie braids

Hey everyone,

could someone tell me the movie accurate size/length of those wookie braids?

few months ago I bought a set off ebay (yes, the beginners faults) and they really seem to be much too short ...

Would be very nice if someone could give me the accurate data.

I'd also like to know this. Plus, someone tell me what the screen-accurate colors are, how many of each color and which ones are connected. I believe the ESB scalps merely drape over the shoulder, and only one is connected back to itself (the blonde one, if I recall) under the armpit.

Manuel, do a search for Julie hers are the best!

As sixxgun said, Julie makes the best replicas I have seen, but in direct answer to your questions, the colors, length and number of braids vary depending on which version of the costume you plan to replicate!

Also Julie has a album with WIP's with rulers for scale.

Julie's are beautiful, but last I heard there was an issue - maybe she's not doing them anymore? Can't recall to be honest.

The only other suggestion I can make is to look at Art's photos of them. They are VERY detailed and you should be able to make a set based on his pics, at least an ROTJ set.

Do you want to know specific lengths/widths for ROTJ or ESB braids?

I personally would LOVE to know the specific lengths/widths you're using especially since you're no longer taking business for new runs. I'm going to be needing a new set and would love to hear how to make the best possible.

If you don't mind waiting until after the holidays, I've been working on a picture tutorial. I can't believe no one's done a tutorial on the braids, so I'm actually going to sit down & do one. I'm working on gathering all the data I've collected about the braids into one area.

Nice idea. Thanks Julie for sharing this. Although I doubt that anybody here has this great talent as you have doing those braids. ;-)
