Sideshow Life-Size Fett

They are having some issues replicating the paint job Spideyfett did for the prototype in China..it is not dead...they are just trying to get this thing done correctly. At least this is what I was told a couple of months ago

sell Fett unpainted then we mail it to Spideyfett to paint, great success!

just joking, but whats the price point if this Fett gets released by Sideshow?

Wow.....could make your own with great parts, commissioned paint work for half of that. They'd sell like a whopping 10 of these.

As crazy as it may sound, if they turn out great, I'd be in for one of these if it's ~$7.5k. Anything more and I may as well just build myself an ESB & ROTJ one.

You can build one just as good maybe better for half that. No way it's worth $7500.

7500 for a fully built manni...thats about what BM would charge you for a fully done up Fet...its not unreasonable honestly....if you asked me to build you top to bottom, it would be up there... think about all the parts and pieces and time it takes time isnt free brother you know that. Theres at least 3-4 grand in parts alone between soft parts the mannequin and hard parts

Agreed, IMO The price is more justified here than with their HiC. I wonder if it's wearable, if I had to guess it's not, one reason to build your own.

It's probably close to what you would pay to build your own, but I agree the HIC is way overpriced.

Remember it's not wearable, and all we've seen is a one of a kind hand made prototype built by some of the best out there. It will all depend on what Sideshow actually ships out.

It's not a bad price considering the cash I've spent on found parts alone Ouchhh...lol

Exactly! I think my end build will surpass this by some considerable way with all the found parts I've searched for so this isn't a bad price IMO. The downside to pieces like this is that they do away with the fun of the hunt and of the build and the personal connection is minimised.

Love the matching detail of the Carbon Freeze version of the EE-3, missing the front right Molex and all! Very nice work. Curious to see what the buyer actually receives compared to the prototype in the photos.

couldn't agree more, its all about the journey.

OK, I'm new here so please go easy on me. ;)

I've had one of the old Don Post life-size statues in my collection for several years now and even though it's totally inaccurate I've always thought it was a cool piece. From what I've been told there were less than 200 total made even though it was originally supposed to be a run of 500 and of those that were made only a select few actually had the good paint job on the helmet(which I was lucky enough to get). Most of them look like they were painted by 8 year olds.

So, the situation I find myself in is that I've got someone who has told me he will buy it whenever I'm ready to sell. He's a very wealthy individual that does not care about screen accuracy and the reason I know this is because he paid big money for my Rubies/Burnett life-size Darth Vader statue which in my eyes was even worse in terms of accuracy than the Fett. Knowing that I have a built in buyer for the DP Fett whenever I decide to sell it has me thinking about moving forward on a screen accurate 1:1 Fett statue and while the Sideshow offering is very nice I'm just wondering if I could do even better with a custom build. The only thing is I've already gone the "DIY" route with a 1:1 Dark Knight Joker and a 1:1 ESB Vader so I don't want to go through that again trying to put together a 1:1 Fett statue myself....I just don't have the time or patience to go through the process again, especially with a costume as complex as Boba's. What I'm wondering is if there are actually people around here that build full statues on mannequins for people. I saw a post above saying "that's about what BM would charge for a fully done Fett", but since I'm new I don't know who he is or how to contact him. Is he the only one that offers something like that or do others do it as well?

Like I said, I'm new here and just trying to navigate the waters to see what my options are regarding the Sideshow offering vs. a custom build. If anyone has any input or suggestions, please feel free to post here or PM me. Thanks. :)

By the way, here's my inaccurate DP Fett. I know he's far from perfect, but he still looks pretty cool IMHO.
