SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

    Hey guys and gals,

Thanks for all the wonderful help I've gotten so far from you all. I am close! Halloween is drawing near, so it's crunchtime! To make my deadline shorter, my girlfriend (unbeknownst to me at the time) bought a ticket for and entered me into a costume contest.

The contest is at Dixie's Tavern in Charlotte, NC on the 25th. The party is called the GraveDigger's Ball, and it's hosted by Katy Perry (of "I kissed a girl and I liked it" fame). Apparently it is going to be the biggest costume contest in Charlotte, with the first place winner to be award $1,500 CASH.
    For info, see http://www.dixiescharlotte.com/ .

Now, I am thinking, that since I've got everything in now, just waiting on a few things to arrive that were promised by the 31st, I can definitely win this. IF I can get it all together in time. I've got a ton of work to do, but I think I can do it. If my costume looks decent, then that 1st place prize is as good as mine, assuming of course that the judges like and know their Star Wars characters.

I'm worried, however, that they will all vote for the skankiest dressed girl there. Don't really know who is judging, or if it will be left up to the crowd. But I am sure to turn some heads at least.

Now on to the costume itself... Nothing special right now, only have a few pics so far.

    Parts list/details:
Helmet = Sgt. Fang, painted by me.
    RF stalk = BKBT
    RF lights = mrgr8ness
RF = need to get another hollow one to fit the lights...
Vest/Flightsuit = LadySewforus, weathered by jawafive
    Boots = CABoots
Girthbelt = picked it up second hand from escho
    Ammo belt = CostumeBase
All armor and gauntlets = Ruffkintoy, fresh out of the box, will be painted by me.
Side pouches = Rimshot (his mother actually, but purchased through him)
Spats = I forget but I will check on it
    Gloves = TK409's sis
Cape = His name was Mike, but i forget his username on here
Wookiee braids = some horsehair ones I bought secondhand from jawafive
    Boot spikes = BobaMaker
    Blaster = HotShot
Jet Pack = not going to worry about that for a while...

My original budget was $600 (I had no idea at the time) but I stopped keeping track when I doubled that. Haha, oh well.

Now for some pics. Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures, they were taken with my phone. My digital camera is broken, and I couldn't borrow anyone else's.

My helmet it the early stages,
Freshly cut visor and green welding shield taped in

Just a little bit of paint on it (ignore the gauntlets in foreground, they are a different pair than the Ruffkin ones I just got)

Months later with more paint on.

Really unhappy with the paint on the mandibles, not accurate at all, but it gets the point across.

Closer view of front left side.

Here it is today, last bit fresh on the back, going to peel the masking off tonight. Should look good. Debating on whether or not I will add the small grey spots yet. Won't take much work, but I'll see tonight when I take the masking off. All thats left to do on the lid is the ears. Then attach everything, RF, Stalk, and visor, and padding on the inside.

Test fitting the vest the day I got it, a little small, but it's my fault for giving Debbi bad measurements

The armor laying on top of the vest for a little sizing up.

I'm too poor right now to get a bigger vest. Since the armor currently kinda hangs off over the armpits, I am thinking of trimming the edges down a bit to make everything fit. Still need to add dents.

And the rest of my armor and gauntlets.

    That's it for now.
Please comment on my paint job. I know the helmet does not look that great, and my paint skills are not doing Sgt Fang's helmet justice. While not BAD, it doesn't look half as good as some other people's. It IS my first paint up tho, and just so long as it gets the point across that, yeah I'm Boba Fett, that's all I care about right now.

    Thanks,

awesome, Petey!!! looks really good! i see what you were saying yesterday about the armor and the vest...you are a little guy, arent ya!! hey, your voice makes up for it brother... nah, man, great job so far, looking awesome!! i would like to say, the mandibles are ok, and i think what would really make them look better, eventually, is to really focus on the finer details and scratches...get a 000 or similar paint brush, and really finely tune the damage areas...but man, great job for first time...remember my Rubies***? ya, you'll be amazed at that second attempt with the painting...

Hahaha, thanks Darrell. I actually DID forget about your Rubies, and thought your Sgt Fang was the first paint up you did. Thanks for reminding me, now I don't feel half bad about my painting skills (or rather, the lack thereof).
I do need to add more red on the mandys. If I have time, I suppose...

Just got off the phone with a manager at Dixie's, and YES! they will allow me to bring my blaster. All I have to do is paint the tip of the barrel bright orange (Ew!) so when they inspect it at the door they can deem it Okay.

My only suggestion would be that if you plan on going out to a bar for this costume contest, be sure to take a spotter with you. All you need is some drunk a** messing with you and your stuff! Just something to think about!

Yeah thanks for that, I'll be with at least 3 or 4 other people all night. Need to have one covering my 6!

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

Only got a little bit done last night. Was hoping to get to the armor, but didn't have time.

First bit done on the ears

And the back of the helmet as it looks right now. Need to add the grey still. Also need to do some more grey and silver scratches on the back of the dome too, will do that tonight.

Here it is from the sides.

Still really nothing special yet. I'm unhappy with the way the back turned out. My masking fluid is giving me problems. Doesn't really peel where it needs to, then other parts where there IS NOT fluid, some how manages to peel off.

A little bit of progress, is better than no progress.

hey, that is great, bud!! much, much better than my first attempt!! i dont know why you are having issues with the masking fluid, though...what are you using to pull the mask off? looking really, really good...as i said before, alot of your detail is...well, kind of in large sections....ya with me? i mean, once you peel of the layer, go back and use a very small paint brush, 00 size, and really touch up those areas to define the damage more...coming along nicely, brother!!! wish i could go to that party with ya...that would be awesome!!

Not much to share, just working on the ears a little bit, as well as adding more silver and gray scratches to the dome.

Will post pics of the back of the helmet once I take off the masking. Right now its covered in tape and newspaper.

    Thanks Debbi, I appreciate it!

I trimmed some of the armor plates today, need to do a little bit more, so that they will all fit on my vest. I hate being a short Fett! Slight problem, this gets rid of the lip around the edge on the sides that i trim. Thus, reducing that raised look, and no depth. Don't know what I'm gonna do to solve that.

Finished painting the left ear. Not perfect, but I'm satisfied with it.

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

I've got the ears stuck on with JBweld, sitting in clamps right now til I get home from work.

Also working on putting hinges on the gauntlets. I've got them trimmed to where they should fit my spaghetti arms perfect with some foam padding on the inside of the shell. Once the hinges are stuck on, I will reinforce the insides of the gauntlets with fiberglass to strengthen them up. Thanks to FettDad for the tips on how to do so.

Also, once I've got the ears taken care of, I will attach the rangefinder with a bolt, and put the ear cover on with some rare earth magnets.

I should have my Fettronics light display by weeks end, so hopefully before then I will have the armor dented, then I can trim the slots to appropriate measurements, then start painting.

I'm still not making as good of progress as I'd like to; that deadline is beginning to become more and more daunting everytime I think about it.

    Keep pluging away...

Here is a pic of my ESB suit 2 weeks prior to the Manitoba Comic Con here in my city, and Jeremy was going to there, so I had to still paint my friends helmet add padding(my FPH is on hold till Chris and Pam gets better),
Paint my Jet Pack add hooks and lighting, make the vest, Sidearm, scratch build the RF top, paint the knees, make shin tools, scratch build the right ear cap, add snaps, details/greebs and weather. all this WITHOUT a test fitting before the Con.

and finished product (just to get you inspired!!)
and I still have to add the small markings in the RF caps and rocket pack...doh!

If I can do all that and have a full time job, survive the wrath of my wife..lol.
    YOU CAN DO IT.
just breath and relax once in a while! its all good.
    keep up the great job.

Wow, talk about beast-moding it! Yours turned out great! You must work well under pressure.
I'm doing a semi-rush job, but still trying not to cut corners and have it come out shoddy looking. I'm working as fast and as hard as I can, so I hope mine turns out at least HALF as good as yours.
The way it's looking right now, I might not have a test fitting until the day of, or right before the competition.
    Thanks, Sixxgunn, you're an inspiration.

    Lol...thx,
Do what you can BUT don't stress your self over small details... My wife taught me that cause you can always finish those after the event.

99% of the time ppl dont know what is right or wrong on the suit, so get all the main parts done.. and as a whole ppl will be in awe, just to quote some dude who stood in the middle of the con and blurted out... "Coolness of the Fett."

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

    Haha, thanks guys.
I'm gonna worry about making the helmet more accurate later, much later.
I won't worry about making the gauntlets perfect either, just so long as they are functional, and look decent.
I'm gonna take my time on the painting of the armor and gauntlets, but won't worry about making it 100% accurate. I highly doubt anybody there will have a trained eye like we do, so nobody will be able to tell a difference.

Getting the point across, thats my main goal.

And I'm really betting on the RF lights, and chest display to make me stand out, and give me an extra edge over the competition.

I just hope seeing out of the green visor won't be too hard in a club. It'll be like wearing sunglasses at night.

Depends on the visor, but generally the green visor is very good to see through, so don´t worry.

Ever tried to look through the black Vader-Eyes when standing inside of a smoke-fogged pub?

    That´s worse. haha

the green visors are good to see through ... even when it´s a bit darker.

Good work on your costume! Great.

    cheers,
    Manuel

    Thanks, Manuel! I appreciate it.

The main thing that I should worry about, not seeing out of the visor, but instead, some drunk moron messing with me while I'm at the club/bar. Need to make sure my gf is watching my back. I've never worn the helmet out in public yet, so I think hearing and speaking might be an issue too. Don't have a voice amp yet.

And now that I think about it more, I may even leave off the hoses and greeblies off the gauntlets for now too.

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

So I figured out the attachment method on the gauntlets, and I reinforced them with fiberglass. The stuff was messy and smelt bad but it was pretty fun to work with.
Again, the lighting is bad, pics taken with my phone. Ignore the hinges and bolts for now, going to work on making that less visible later.

Tonight I plan to attach the RF stalk to the helmet, and some of the greeblies on the gauntlets, and go shopping at Lowes for some hoses.

Maybe if there is enough time I can start to dent the armor... Also need to trim the back plate some. It's so big on me, makes me look like a Ninja Turtle!

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

A little bit more for today.

I was not happy with the progress i was making with the gauntlets (practically nothing today) and the RF. So I shifted my focus to the rest of the armor.

I attached the RF stalk, and had to carve a small hole out of the back of the RF ear, haven't stuck that on yet. Gonna still try to use earth magnets, but need a countersink bit first.

I trimmed the back armor a bunch so it isn't as big anymore. Didn't bother to take pics; it looks basically the same, just with a bit taken off the edges to make it fit me better.

I dented the armor using a lighter and a Sharpie. Then put a coat of primer on all the pieces except the left chest. Going to wait until I get my Fettronics light display and trim the slots.

Anyway, heres some pics, not much to really show tho. Forgot to take pictures of the helmet, but just imagine a shoddy looking ESB with no visor and an ugly bolt to hold the stalk on.

The bottom left of the chest piece isn't bent, thats just my shadow.

Can't really see the collar dent, but it's there.

Thinking the ab dent needs to be a little bigger, but with weathered and layered paint, it will look more pronounced. And the little dent by the tri-holes is not supposed to be there. Came like that; could use bondo or body filler to fix it, I guess, but I'm too rushed right now to really care. Did I miss a dent on the bottom edge of the ab? My memory may just be bad right now cuz I'm tired.

For tomorrow I want to get the vest attachment done on the armor and then maybe put a coat of paint on the armor, get some greeblies put on the gauntlets, like the left gaunt hose connector, then maybe go shopping for some elastic straps for the knees and the thong, as well as pick up some foam padding for the inside of the the gauntlets and helmet.
    Horrible run on sentence, ;alskdjf;laskdjf.

    Comments are always welcome!

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

Pretty mad about my lack of progress last night. Just one frustration after another.
Spent way too much time looking for stuff while out shopping and only had about 3 hours to work once I got home. It was about 11:30 when I called it quits cuz my parents as well as the neighbors started to yell when they heard all the drilling and cutting.
Didn't even touch my gauntlets last night, so nothing new on those.
Tried to use Goop to stick in the visor; that was a mistake, should have just tried the bolt in method. Gonna have to go back to Lowes to get the right kind of t-bolts for that.
Put a coat of aluminum on the armor. Nothing special.
Got some foam (which took me forever to find, 2 out of three craft stores didn't have what I needed) to pad the gauntlets and helmet. Hope to do that tonight, after I bolt in the visor. Hope to put the flamethrower on tonight too.
The only good thing that i did, was to install earth magnets on the helmet and the RF ear.

    Messed up visor, yay:

And my messy and cramped workstation:

Starting to get really pessimistic about the costume contest. The advert for the Grave Digger's Ball doesn't actually specify that the grand prize is $1500, rather it just states that $1500 will be awarded. So that could mean that yeah 1st place gets alot, but the left over will go to the runner ups. Guess I was excited and just assumed possibly the wrong thing. But I'm not sure yet, will just have to wait and see.

keep it up, PETE!! you can do this, brother! looking good so far, and ya, i would do the t-bolt thing for the visor... that way it can be removed if you need to take it out...just give a shout when/if you get to that wall with the gauntlets!!

Your suit is looking really good!! Keep it up. On that contest though....judging from experience here, Its tough to say on that. Definately keep your hopes up, but as you mentioed earlier, the judges may very well pick the scanties clothed girl there. I have gone to a number of different contests over the years thinking I would have it sewed up. A few times I did win, but twice i got beat by chicks in swimsuits, and one time i got bead by a guy with a plunger on his head and a sign that "condom man"!!!!! Again, not trying to dash your hopes, just don't be to too bummed if you don't win. The main thing is that you have fun, and that you enjoy your suit!!! Even if you don't win this particular one, there will undobtedly be others that you will win!!!!! I'm pulling for you on this one though!!!

    Thanks, Darrell & Jango's Kid!

I'm definitely not counting all my chickens before they hatch, but am still keeping my hopes up at least a little bit.
At least I should have a lot of photo ops and turn some heads.

This weekend I may lose some time to work on it all, since I will be out of town. Won't be able to paint, glue, or cut anything.

But I can take the armor and vest and helmet with me and work on vest attachment, and padding the gauntlets and helmet.
Before that tho, I need to make sure I get the visor in tonight, and the flamethrower unit and hose connectors installed.

Just got word of another costume contest in Charlotte on the 31st. This one is definitely giving $1,000 to the 1st prize winner. Only issue tho, it's at a Country bar. Not sure the audience of people attending would recognize or appreciate my entry. But I'll look into it and give it a shot maybe, unless I catch word of other contests or better parties are happening closer to home on Halloween night.

On the visor: quick and easy method is a hot glue gun. Used it on my old Fang. Put the visor in where you want it and put "beads" of glue on the corners on the inside. Less mess than Goop and you can do it in about 15-20 minutes. The bolt in method takes longer and I went through several visors before I got it right....

Keep in mind too, (again, speaking from experience,) that bars are not always the best place to wear your newly finnished suit!!! I've had a number of run-ins with intoxicated people who tug on this & that part of your suit. Had one guy pull my JP missle out once!!! I also had a very drunk lady take off with my blaster while I set it down to rest for a minute. Lucky I got it back!!!!! if you do go into a bar environment where there are potentially very intoxicated folks, its a good idea to have 1 or 2 buddies go along with you so they can keep an eye out for folks that might give you a hard time. Just a heads up!!!

Oh yeah thanks Mad. I may try that too, I already ruined my last two visor screwing up on the bolt-in method I thought the Goop would work the best, but the curve of the visor isn't the same as the helmet, and my arms and hands got tired of holding it in there, so as soon as I let up pressure the visor just bent to its normal curve and slid right out, smearing Goop every where.

And yeah, Jango's Kid, that is one thing that still has me slightly worried. Don't want drunk morons messing with me, but I will have a few people watching my back.

Acetone? I would probably NOT go that route though because it may eat through the visor. The stuff is pretty strong.

Hot glue or epoxy putty, epoxy putty if you don't want to worry about it coming loose...ever.

    Ah, thanks NovallTalon!
I'm going to get some epoxy putty when I am out at Lowe's tonight, and some epoxy putty too. Going to try just a teeny tiny bit of acetone first, to see the results before it messes up the visor even more.
    Preesh.

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

    Made some awesome progress tonight.
Finished assembling the gauntlets, now all thats left on those is to add some padding on the inside of the shells and then paint em.

And to put the missile on there and the hose too.

I tried hot gluing in the visor and it only held for about ten minutes then slipped out when I wasn't looking.

It's finally at a point right now, where I am actually PROUD of it! Since hot gluing and holding it in place for ten minutes didn't do the trick, i will go with trying the t-bolt method. The visor is seriously making me mad, I think I left it in the box for too long before opening it, so the unnatural curve from being crammed in there is not liking the curve of the helmet.

Got my Fettronics light board today (absolutely awesome, I might add) and cut the chest slots to fit.

Until Monday I will only have 1 day to work on stuff, Saturday. So I plan to add foam inside the gauntlets, and attach all the armor to the vest. After that all that is left is to just finish painting the armor and gauntlets.
    It's all downhill from here!

Your costume is looking really great

With the visor issue, i basically JB welded short 5mm bolts / screws to the inside of the lid and then drill holes through the visor. Holds it really really well once the nuts are tightened. The trick is to make sure that the surfaces between the screws and lid are really well keyed, and then (really, really important) make sure the JB weld overlaps the screw heads. If you don't do this final step the screws will just snap off.

    good luck buddy

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

Made a bit of progress this weekend.
Attached all the armor to the vest with industrial strength velcro. After trimming all the plates just a little bit, it all fits nicely when I put the vest on.
I padded the inside of the gauntlets and used velcro to keep them shut. They fit perfectly!
Got my hose from Ivan, aka BoomerFett (thanks buddy!) and now these babies are ready to be painted. Already primed, going to put the silver on tonight.
Going to start painting the armor tonight too. Already got the primer and silver on. Just need to do the bits of yellow, then green on top.
Need to finish painting the knees too, they are silver right now. Going to put the yellowish orange on tonight.
Need to also get to the craft store tonight and get some elastic straps for the thong and knee straps.

That should be it for tonight. Going to worry about the visor issue and padding the helmet tomorrow when I'm in between layers of paint.

Only one pic for right now. Test fitting the vest with armor on it, before I put the collar and shouler pieces on. But those fit on great too!

Oh yeah, you can only see his legs, but I got a freaking sweet Boba shirt at HotTopic. Check it out here: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/sto...=1224508564164

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

    Met my quota for tonight.

Got my bootspikes from BobaMaker today. Gauntlets in the background with coat of silver.

Put on some yellow to the armor, misted with a bit of black because it was too bright. Doesn't look quite that dirty as it is in the pic, and it's way too shiny right now.

Shoulder and knees with yellow. Again, too bright so I misted with a tiny bit of white to lighten it up a bit and make the yellow look a bit faded, like it had been left out in the sun for days. They aren't as light as the picture makes them look.

Tomorrow I NEED to finish mounting the visor!
Then I will put some of the yellowish orange on the knees and shoulders. And some green on the armor. And attach the cod and kidney, and maybe I'll get to the craft store to get elastic straps. I should since I'll be out to Lowe's getting t-bolts anyway.
Oh yeah, put the burgundy on the gauntlets too.

I was looking at your parts list and I see that you have the ammo belt from CostumeBase. While it is a fine product for the price, when it comes out of the box the pouches are WAAAAY to shiny for my taste. You'll want to use some steel wool or sandpaper to take that shine off. It looks a lot better that way (IMO).

    Good luck!

Thanks man, I already did! I noticed too that it was way too shiny and too new and clean looking. Some wire wool did the trick, and it is a decent temp until I can upgrade to a Taco later on down the road.

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

Argh, yesterday kinda sucked. Spent too much time dawdling and had to rush to get everything I wanted done, before going to bed. Although I completed what I had set for myself to do, I was up way too late doing it.
Also it was really windy yesterday, and got orange and green paint all over the driveway My dad won't be happy about that, but I did lay down plenty of newspaper! Just didn't expect the mist to be carried so far. Oh well, on to some pics.

Heres the gauntlets, can't wait to take the masking off, and then do the bottom halves.

Here's the knees before the brighter yellowish orange.

Here is the armor before I put the green on,

And after, (I can't wait to take the masking off and put the decal on and install the lightboard!)

The shoulders are back there, but don't look all that great, once I put the decal on and take off the masking it will look better.

Also j-b welded the bolts in the helmet. Let's hope I lined the bolts up to the holes in the visor this time!
Forgot to get elastic for the knees.

Tonight: take off masking on all the aforementioned stuff, paint cod, kidney and back, and install darts and straps to the knees.
Paint lower half of gauntlets. Bolt in visor.
Tomorrow: possible test fitting of everything???

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

So last night was really fun. Taking off the masking on all the armor made all the effort worth it. And the visor is in, and VERY COMFORTABLE foam padding on the inside of the lid.
    Here's some pics.

Knees. All that is left is to attach the darts and straps.

Shoulders. Pretty happy with how they turned out. The orange/yellow doesn't look like the right shade though.

The armor with decal and dull coat. The masking fluid was giving my problems again, so a lot of it does not look accurate Still need to put in chest lights.

And test fitting my (almost) finished helmet. All thats left is to attach the RF.

The gauntlets will be finished tonight, just need to peel off the masking and attach the missile.
All that is really left to do is to put straps on the knees and install the darts, finish the range finder and attach it, figure out the cape attachment, and uhhh..... oh yeah! A TEST FITTING!

Still waiting on my blaster from Hotshot. It won't be a make or beak sort of thing in regards to the contest if I don't have it, but it could give me a little bit of an extra edge.

I slept with my bucket on the pillow next to me, to truly break it in.

Peter, I can't wait to see it all together. You have really done a great job, especially considering the "speed costuming" LOL

    I will stay tuned

haha thanks! But more like "ON SPEED costuming".

I hate having to rush like this, but it really is turning out a little better than I expected. If I had no deadline and could take my sweet time, maybe it'd be better. But I can always fix everything on the Ver.2!

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

I kind of slacked off a little last night. Had bought a new game a few days ago that I hadn't had a chance to play yet, so I cut my work shortfor the evening. I can still make up what isn't done with only a little time tonight, and then a few hours tomorrow.

I installed the knee dart launchers, and attached the RF to the stalk. Finished painting the cod, kidney and back. And the gauntlets are done, just need to attach the missile.
Tonight I am going to attach the straps on the knees, paint and weather the rangefinder, and then make bolts out of my shoulder studs/keyboard keys.

Tomorrow once the J-B Weld is hardened I will figure out the attachment of the collar and back armor, as well as the cape.

    That's it.

Sorry, no pictures today. I was uber lazy and needed to relax. But that's okay, it will build the suspense til I can post pics of me in the final result at the competition, on Monday.

    Thanks guys.

Still never got my blaster tho, if it comes in today before I leave town, I will stop home and grab it. Should have come by now, was told it was shipped last Fri, priority with a 2-3 day ETA. So hopefully I get a call from home saying there is a package for me.

Re: SE Fett and Costume Contest (pic intensive)

So I just got back and it was just as I feared; Juggies > Fett.
I wasn't the only person upset tho, a lot of entries were pretty upset. I am pretty sure the judges were drunk as hell, so they just made sluts wiggle their butts and bare some cleavage and gave them a pass.
There was a REALLY sweet looking Predator there, and even he wasn't a finalist. His language was quite colorful.

All in all, I expected it, and don't care all that much, I was too busy getting pictures with all the cool people that actually appreciated the Fett man. Got a lot of good photos taken with the likes of Super Mario, some Ghostbusters, some Ninja Turtles, Megatron, the Reno Sheriff's dept., and of course that awesome Predator.

A lot of random people came up and complimented me, felt great. And even after the competition some people were surprised and even a few pissed when they were skanky hoes beat me.
A random even came up and asked me if I was a member of TDH! They weren't a registered member but a lurker.

Should have some pics up tomorrow. Thanks guys!

That was me, the venetian dancer! ahhh! Your costume was awesome. I was amazed that you made it yourself too. My friend and I were pretty sure that you'd be a finalist or win, so I'm glad I didn't stay. I left quite early after my mom called and said my beloved canine died. I wasn't really in the mood to party after that. -_- But like I said, amazing costume. I'm glad I got to see it in person.

    Sorry to hear that.
Thanks for the kind words, it is much appreciated. You too xero!
I wasn't a finalist, and even that really awesome Predator wasn't either. If there was one person I'd feel good being beat by, it woulda been him!
I wish I had the chance to talk to that guy, I wouldn't doubt that he knows or has at least heard of Ruffkin.
I didn't stick around after I got outed; my gf's feet were hurting and she was more upset than I was So we were hungry and decided to peace out and go hit up the Awful Waffle.

Anyway, I heard that the Tin Man won. Glad to hear that it wasn't one of those hootchies. I actually talked to the Tin Man and he was a really cool guy. Made his costume out of sheet metal and it looked pretty cool. Apparently he drove about 6 hrs from the mountains just to be there. From what he said, the contest played out the same the past few years; all the good costumes get looked over in favor of skin

Oh well, the funnest part for me was just taking pictures. And speaking of pics, my gf should email them all to me sometime today! Kind of bothersome, I didn't even get a picture on the radio stations website. But I got stopped about 4 times for a picture or video clip by one of the radio stations workers, saying they wanted some pictures for their website.

But what absolutely made my night, was all the randoms coming up and going "OHMIGAWD it's Boba Fett!!!" Two guys from one of the bands that were playing, ran up and were jumping up and down, practically dying to get a picture with me. The front man actually got on the ground and worshiped me!

I got a lot of compliments on my Fettronics light board! Thanks Jon! You'll have a pic and a review for your site soon!

As I was walking out, a few people stopped and complimented me, and asked if I was in the costume contest. They were shocked when I told them that I got beat by skanks! There was quite a few people upset with the judges.

    Oh well, I had fun!

I think you should post up the pics of the "Hootchies"
That is the only way that we can fully understand your pain .

This is a family friendly board!

If ya'll want pics of the hoes check out http://www.kiss951.com/pages/3200871...ontentId=41948
The Victoria's Secret Angels seemed to get the most attention.
And the Predator's girlfriend. All she was wearing was a g-string and a fishnet body suit!
The dumbest skank costume was a Corona and lime duo. Just store-bought costumes that were basically a tight shirt and short shorts with Corona written on it. The one girl had limes on her bum. Those chicks were attention whoring like no tomorrow to make sure they got in the contest. And yes, they got a Finalist Pass.

What kind of upset me, was the Judges. There was one main judge and at least two other guys with her walking around with clipboards. The guy obviously wanted me to be a finalist, he had a pass in his hand ready to give to me, but the main bish just scrunched up her face and said no and gave me a dirty look. I kinda wanted to kick her with my boot-spikes. I had BM resin ones, not any aluminum ones If only!

That is a shame. You should post some pics of those undeserving girls so we may make an educated opinion of what went wrong. You know how their costumes, or lack there of, beat yours.

Well, not all the good ones (i.e. ME!) The Predator and his gf are the first pic.

I'm with Slave here. We need to see the full magnitude of your dispair to fully understand what happened. I will painfully look at the "evidence" and give a whole hearted and unbiased oppinnion. Its my duty...
