I need help in learning how to capture a scene from a movie I play on my DVD on my computer for a screen saver or such.Any suggestions on how or recomendation on any freeware?

If you do it on your computer, pause the movie where you want the screen, then press the "print screen" key on the keyboard. From there, I would open MS paint, and go to edit, and hit "paste," and the scene and the whole display will show up. Just erase everything thats not part of the scene.

Print Screen. Then paste it in a photo file.
I use 'Power DVD' viewer/player and there is a tool that just takes snap shots of the frame you want...Looks like a little camera.
If I play it @ selected speed (frame by frame) I manage to get some really good stills?
InterVideo WinDVD is also a pretty good free version (trial 14 days).
I use VLC from videolan.org to play just about everything and it lets you take screen caps as well.
