RPF Membership open until November 15th

A while back I helped a few people join the RPF who were having trouble signing up, I just noticed that registration is open again this year so I thought I'd post this for those who are interested.

I've met a lot of great people here on the Dented Helmet and also the Replica Prop Forum, here is the information copied from the RPF post, I hope this helps...

Scheduled Open Registration - November 1st - November 15th

To register on the RPF, you must submit a legitimate e-mail address fromyour ISP (ex: Earthlink, RoadRunner, Comcast, etc.) for verification purposes.

Registrations from FREE email accounts (ex: YAHOO, HOTMAIL, GMAIL, etc.) are NOT ACCEPTABLE, and will be denied activation and subsequently removed. To register on the RPF you must register with a legitimate e-mail address from your ISP (ex: Earthlink, RoadRunner, Comcast, etc.) for verification purposes within the registration period and must maintain a legitimate email address on your account at all times. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

I still havent been validated, and I meet all the requirments! AHH!

For those still having problems signing-up, keep in mind that Free Email accounts won't be accepted, That goes for earthlink.net, gmail.com, hotmail.com, msn.com, aol.com, juno.com, netzero.net, etc.

This isn't to annoy people or make their lives more difficult, it's because of a few bad apples have abused the RPF and now they had to take precautions to make sure it doesn't happen again.

msn.com is not a free account! I pay a monthly fee!

I passed on the info about MSN not being a free account to the Registration Moderator...

It also keeps a lot of spam out.

If theres this many regulations just to sign up i can't even imagine being a part of that community.

hey propsculptor, is there anyway you could help out TDH members that only have freeby accounts, i'm in the same boat as mrgr8ness. Like talk to the admin there on our behalf? If not, that's cool, i'm content with the awesome community here.

They must be mistaken about which services are actually free.

I've spoken to the Moderators on behalf of TDH members who have had a few problems signing up, but the No Free-EMail accounts is something they won't compromise on because of past members who abused the Forums for their own reasons and now they have ruined it for nice people like you who simply want to join-in.

What about those of us who don't have free accounts but still can't join?

I tried regging with my school email addy, as it is my service provider -- cmich.edu... Not sure if it'll work, just tried regging and haven't gotten an email yet, but it should have been close to instantaneous, right? I got a message saying registration was successful on their site, and that an email was sent...

Think it'll work...?

Tried to help my hubby register, and pm sent to you about his info. He tried to resend a validation and nothing would pop up in his email box.

That's what is happening to me.

Well, I just tried to see if it works and I got the confirmation email immediately. Hope it works for you guys too.

This is from the Moderator since he's not an official member so I'm posting this for him to all of you:

"Hi! As I understand we were backlogged about a hundred or so applicants. At least 60 of those have been processed since propsculpter contacted me. Some of the others are blatantly apparent they are free email accounts so can't get through the filter. I'm working with Lord_Gita on getting this part resolved and I suspect we will extend registration for a bit until we do. We don't want to keep any from joining".
