Hi guys,

Never used this service before, but a buddy of mine told me I may as well sit back and wait a few weeks so figured I would ask some of the forumites who have used it. I had a package (FP helmet :D) shipped Monday, there is still no tracing record available, how long do you think before it gets here to the US?

any time i've had anything sent from the uk to the us it's been a few weeks.

the shipping time is just that: shipping. it doesn't take into account customs, which can take however long they like.

if you think USPS is bad, just wait till you see the Royal Mail!

typically I use the USPS global priority - and even then it takes on average 10-14 days even w/o import problems
Global express - maybe a little shorter, but still 7-10 days. Both of these often have no tracking or have tracking updates real late - eg abt 1 week before I get any onfo, and it tends to be backdated.

USPS 1st class mail is even better - I have had items shipped and arrived adn the website still hasnt been updated!!!

The last item I purchased that was sent royal mail airsure took so long to receive I was well into procedures for a refund by the time it finally showed up -- 6 weeks after the original projected delivery date. And not a jot of info of where it was during all that time. Tracking is only something that works after you have receive the package apparently. Good luck.

I send airsure alot to the States and its normally 5 days to say 2 weeks max. The longest one of my Airsure parcels took to arrive was 4 weeks due to christmas.

But like said it doesnt take into account how long the US customs hold on to it.

well, here I am 10+ days after my item shipped. No tracking record available, actually NO info available with that tracking #. I mean, couldn't they at least update and say that it was accepted and shipped? This is terrible!

Yeah dude id say just dont think about it and one day it will turn up but if you spend time trying to trak it and go to the P.Oand ask daily youl be wasting your time
just let it run its cause

I have a box coming in from the UK sent on the 1/10/11. 2 week mark already.....but I'm sure it may of been held up in customs considering the visual similarities to a firearm! :)

EDIT: I snatched this from Royal Mail's site:

"USA - North America
Start date: 10th January
End date:

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has declared a Force Majeure which commenced on Monday 10th January 2011 due to the continued heavy snow and high wind alerts crossing the Southeast, Midwest, and travelling up the Northeast region of the US impacting in and outbound mail flows. There will be delays to inbound and outbound mail services in affected areas.

Update - 17th January:

With effect from 14 January 2011, postal operations have returned to normal in New York and the north-eastern part of the United States, as well as in the surrounding areas.

We are awaiting information on the rest of the country "

I got it in today. Box was beat to hell, helmet was cracked. I give up. I waited over 2 months for this helmet and its cracked and missing parts.

sorry to hear that vod hope u can get your money back, all my stuff came in yesterday no damage ,no tracking info as of 1/23/11 still. 10 days to get here

I'm expecting a package that was mailed on 1/21/11. It was send AIRSURE and was suppossed to get to me in 4 days like US PRIORITY MAIL. Tracking says it's been handed over to the US Mail, but nothing more. Hopefully it shows up in the coming week.
