The AT-AT walker is pronounced "Ay-Tee Ay-Tee" not "At at" if I hear someone call it that one more time....it's like ATV "All terrain vehicle" AT-AT "All terrain armored transport" WAS THAT SO HARD?!

It came down to a nerd debate of how the walkers name was pronounced...I don't think I ever got that heated before hahaha

I used to call it "at"-"at". Still do occassioanlly. I always think of it as a term of endearment. It's also similar to calling the HMMWV a Humvee.

I pronounce ATV "atuv", but an AT-ST will always be an A T S T

Nope. In the movie they are only ever called "imperial walkers." First by the rebel commander in the trench, then over the rebel base intercom. AT-AT is nowhere in the dialog of the film or script.

hey all! huh... I didn't realize there is actual debates on how to announce the name of an AT-AT walker. I only became a big star Wars fan in these recent teenager/young adult years and never even knew it was pronounced "at at" and not A T A T (which is the way my nerdiness brought me up to know it as :P)

Honestly, does it matter if, according to records of both sides, it's technically correct both ways? Just my two cents.

Your right about the dialog in the movie you can have that. BUT, because of all this, I will for the rest of my life, and I'll teach my kids the same, call it AT AT, not ay-tee ay-tee, and I will do the same for AT-ST's, I will always call them chicken walkers!

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter....I just wished they slaughtered Ewoks..

yeah lol... as inaccurate at firing, lack of stamina or reflexes to dodge laser fire, and dozens of other reasons stormtroopers are stormtroopers, I still don't get why ewoks trump stormtroopers when stormtroopers trump jawas (who are far more tech savy).

Jawas had no warning and probably assumed the imperials wanted to trade or buy,..thus allowing the stormtroopers to nonchalantly walk up point blank stick their E-11's up against their lil heads...and end their lil lives...no aim necessary! C3PO gave the ewoks a horror story
