Raising Money for Charity as Boba Fett

Hi TDHers.

Long time no see. Unfortunately my job has taken me away from as much costuming as I'd like to do, but I have just found an excuse to get it out.

I am thinking of doing a 'Boba Fett to work day'. I'm a web developer and I have to sit at a desk for 8+ hours coding away. So, I thought it would be an interesting way of raising money.

And I was wondering if anyone had any pointers on where to promote this event, how best to promote it and whether TDH official Facebook will be able to post updates during the day of my progress including links to my JustGiving (or equivalent) donations page.

At the minute I'm thinking of starting up a hashtag for the day to make it easy to track on Twitter.

Also, if anyone had any pointers on how to survive an entire day in that costume that'd be handy... the record for me so far is probably about 4/5 hours with breaks. I'll be sitting down so that won't be the problem, it'll be my jetpack killing my shoulders and how not to break my codpiece...

This is my costume for those that can't remember ;)

If possible, how ever your chair at work is, but put the jet pack on the back of the chair like kids used to do in school with thier book bags. Maybe a makeshift mounts on the chair to hold the jetpack.. just a thought

I'm aiming to debut my cosume on a a charity work day in November....last time I raised over £400 when I did 7 hours straight in stormtrooper armour :)

I did sit in mine......... no break in the codpiece, just the wonderful butt floss strap popping loose, and my neck killing me from the collar pulling up with the weight of the jetpack.

8 Hours though, you have my respect on that one.
