OT: Shipping from US to Germany

Sorry about the off-topic post, but I'm having an issue with one of my board shipments. I shipped one of my light boards to Germany on 4/9, and it has not arrived yet. Is there a way to find out where it is? I shipped USPS international priority mail, but the customs number doesn't provide any tracking.

Has anyone shipped to Germany before? How long doe it usually take?

Thanks,
Jon

The german post and USPS do not work tohgether, so if your package leaves the US you can´t track it anymore and it is not insured. Only FedEx, DHL, UPS and so on have trackable packages to germany. Packages need sometimes up to 6 weeks to germany.

i had a package take almost three months coming from germany a few years ago. so it could take a while.

unfortunately the reciprocal arrangement between National Posts is not uniform
in the UK - the USPS customs number can be used to track items to the door :D
Europe is weird, by traditional mail - items can still take up to 4 weeks to arrive, and thats from the UK!
I now only use couriers to Germany and Italy.

most of the time i`m waiting usually 2 weeks for a package to arrive here in germany from the US !! when it arrives in germany its gonna be handled by DHL
it can be that the package is in german customs and this will take a little longer!!

Thanks for the replies. If I had shipped UPS, the cost would have been well over $100, so that option was out. I guess it's just a waiting game, but I really wish I could give my buyer better news :(
