*Official* what does everyone do for a living?

    Re: what does everyone do for a living?

    I'm currently pretending to be a marketing/creative manager for a Minneapolis, MN hospital. Everyone here seems to believe me so far

    Also a painter/sculptor/wanna-be film maker, however my time spent on creative pursuits lately is at an all-time low. Real life responsibilities/work seem to be dang needy these days.

    I'm an ASE Parts Specialist for Advance/Discount Auto Parts in Fort Myers Florida. My wife works in corporate law. Together we have a very handsome 4 year old son which we adopted and are fostering an 8 month old little boy. Much to my advantage working in the automotive parts business is: checking out the many assortments of clutch alignment tools(Fett rocket) Steel & brass nozzles(flame thrower) tons of hoses in steel and rubber, Fiberglass, Bondo, Paint, and MUCH more.......yes, I am in the promised land!

    OPPI ~ Just to let you know, (speaking as a SWAT sniper), shooting from a moving platform such as a rotary wing aircraft is not typical, regardless what is seen on TV. It has been done, but it is very, very difficult. As far as shooting tires goes in general... problematic. There is usually a better option.

    Pantera ~ Some departments pay pretty well these days. Sounds like you would need to relocate to find the wage you would need. We need solid folks to get interested in law enforcement. Nationally, it is a career field which is becoming very difficult to fill. These guys have given you excellent advice. Try it out and see if the shoe fits. It takes a certain personality to do this job safely & with sound tactics ALL the time. Our mistakes get us killed, and can put others in harms way aswell.

    I believe movies and America's popular image of the overweight donut eating cop has done the profession a huge disservice. The show COPS shows the sensational, and unfortunately often poor tactics. On the UP side though, I hope the bad guys go on thinking that is what they are up against, 'cuss I've got a surprise for them!

    Well...heres all you need to do. Finish school. Join the Corp. Sign up for Recon or Fast, etc., get a slot for sniper school. Finish your hitch. Go to work for a Police dept., do your time on the street then apply for SWAT. After a few years, go for a sniper slot. 'Bad ass' comes last when it's no longer important. Thats a typical career path for a modern warrior.

    Law Enforcement as well on the County level. I was with the Highway Patrol but due to political problems I had to resign. We should get a new Governor in my state in about a year and then I will make my triumphant return to the Highway Patrol.

    It'd be fun to see a poll on how many are/were into law enforcement...

    Great idea Phil! Using this thread for reference, I counted fourteen current or former police officers. From the sounds of it, we have quite a few future cops in our midst as well.

    Here's the list. If I forgot somebody, reply to this post and I'll add you to the ranks.

    Blaxmyth, Brak's Buddy, BobaFettish, mgr, fettpride, DARTH WOLFE, Uber Fett, SITH HUNTER, BF46, Gater, death to windu, Delta13, KrOnk, and mandaloriancostuming.

    ::Edit:: one more added.

    For some reason, I just can't seem to picture you in a uniform, WPK. You'd be a very convincing narcotics detective though.
