In the basement on an old kitchen table. I have to work out of one outlet right now as we are in the process of finishing the basement. That means the dremmel can't be on at the same time as the compressor and worklight. It does make me slow down - which is a good thing. I have a tendancy to try an rush things

At least I can paint on the ground without worrying about overspray

Well, no Fett here as of yet, but here is the low down on my work area.

I do nothing much at home as I live in an apartment, but I might do a little painting there everyonce in a while. I do the major amount of prop bulding and parts at work.

Here's a link to a pic of my CNC department.

I am so jealous, Mirax has her own craft room. I just cant bring myself to downsize the weight room. I usually work on my Mandalorian gear at Tambo Fett's garage,(It's a huge workspace)
He has parts and greeblies for days. The A-Team could build some very cool projects in there! When possible, I bring some projects to work. The joy of owning your own business!
There are many late nights I bring some equipment home to work on, thank goodness for internet radio. I now have techno music to last me forever.

Since we're sharing workspaces, here is my pride and joy!

When we bought our house, it came with a two car garage. and it had a workbench built into the back wall. (that of course was when I had decided to buy it, the deck and hot tub were just icing on the cake)

It is a total mess right now, I'm in the middle of about 3 projects.

You can't see it in this picture, but hidden behind the table saw is a Shopsmith 10-ER (1953 model) in the lathe configuration. Off to the right out of frame is a 1949 Delta/Rockwell band saw I am restoing. My Father in Law gave me these, they were his dads. Way cool.

*Unofficial* What do you use as your "DURGE WORK SPACE"?

I live in a condo and I don't have a proper DURGE space. I am constantly creating and cleaning. Small wonder my projects take so long. I work where ever I can find the space. (Often on our poor cherry wood dining room table.)

Today, I wanted to wet sand my helmet, and get ready for work. Solution; sand while I showered. En route to said place of bussiness, I brought a plastic bag, (to keep tidy) and continued my work on train. I do a surprising amount of costume work , painting, and hand lettring on the train to and from work.

    Be well ventilated,
    Thomas

I am working on the inside right now. Getting all the electrical and temperature control stuff handled, then I'll be putting up a lot of peg board and built-tables and such. I'll try to put up some pics when I make progress.

Re: *Official* What do you use as your "FETT WORK SPACE"?

My husband and I live in a condo but it's a good size. We had a rather large master bedroom so my very understanding husband let me use that for my room and we took one of the smaller bedrooms for our room. I have so many things that I do that I needed the space. I sew (costumes, wedding dresses etc.), make jewelry (beading, silversmithing, wire wrapping etc.) along with six zillion other things like scrapbooking and card making. I have several stations where everything can be worked on....along with a nice big cutting table. My room also has a t.v. and VCR....but if I'm hand painting the armor I'm usually on the couch in the livingroom. I dremel stuff at the kitchen sink or depending on the weather outside on the deck. I also use my parents place lots. My dad has a big workshop in the basement where I cut out the sintra and usually the good ole' front lawn for spray painting.

Belive it or not, I built a pretty good one IN A DORM ROOM and painted it outside my frat house. Normally though, I build rockets and that happens in our game room which I usually take ove when people aren't coming. I don't have a gradge. I paint out side. I know for a fact when I buy a house (which won't happen for a LOOOONG time) I will have one room for starwars, one for rockets, and one where everything can be built without ever having to clean up.

By the way, ask your roomate before cutting sintra with a dremmel in a dorm room. We had white dust in ours for about a month.

I figured it was about time that I add a picture of my own modest
workspace, along with the first glimpse of my helmet in progress.
This is a covered balcony viewed from the doorway to our kitchen.

Re: *Official* What do you use as your "FETT WORK SPACE"?

When I built my Boba in '99, I was living with 2 roomates in a 3 bedroom, 3 story townhouse. It was built between May and October, so luckily it was warm out for painting, which was done on the back patio and in the lawn at my friend Tim's house.

All the actual work on the armor (dremmeling out of the molds, puttying, sanding, etc) was done in the living room, either on the floor or sitting on the couch while working off the coffee table....with a little done on the kitchen table.

Some work was done in the basement, but mostly the living room. I did some jet pack assembly in the kitchen as well. So, basically all over the house since we had no actual "work area".

Then in 2001, I built 3 Tusken Raider heads simultaneously on the kitchen table....to the dismay of my roomates who were eating in the living room at the time.

Now, I'm in a condo with 2 other roomates, and most 'updates' I do on parts or new costumes is in the basement or the kitchen table or painting out near the patio again. Same kinda stuff, just different location.

I guess I have no real dedicated work space, but thought I'd chime in to this thread anyway, even though I'm not currently working on a Fett.
