*Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
I know we have a "officail lets see you with your bucket off thread" here some where, but this thread is a little different and I think can help our little community grow better and get to know each other a little better.
With the few tragic things and almost tragic things that have happened on the RPF latley in the past several weeks this sounds like a good idea to do here before it is too late and we loose any more members as they move on to other things.
The RPF has a similar thread to tribute the life of the late Graham AKA VaderMaker, but I havn't noticed any one start anything like this here, So I guess I will start it off.
***MODS if I have, feel free to merge if needed, but I feel this should be a seprate thread.***
Please introduce your self and post pics of yourself if you like, they don't need to be Fett related.
I'll start it off.

My name is Tyler Phillips, I am 20 years old and live in Eastern KY,(if you have ever seen the Steven Segal movie "Fire Down Below" it was filmed in my town), I have loved Star Wars for as long as I can remember and been a collector for about 8 yrs now. I'm a member of the 501st with my sandy armor and soon my Fett. My Fett costume has led me to the wonderful world of airbrushing and if anyone needs some color on anything just shoot me a PM. Also recently got into paintball.

Re: Please introduce yourself
Hi,
I'm Charlie Ostrander, I live in S.W. Florida.
I'm a 39 year old kid that has been blessed with a lovingly, Hot gorgous wife and life partner(Deborah)of 8 years.:love
We have two boys, Alexander (5) and Sebastian (2). Those 2 boys are the blame for my Peter Pan Syndrome....well, maybe some of it:D
Basically, I can't say I have a peticular hobby as I jump into anything whenever I get bored. Besides upgrades to my Jango Fett I'm a gear head and work on my Porsche 928 a great deal whenever I can get the chance. I also build PC systems. Not to sell....just to see if I can always build the next one better.
I started costuming around 1992 while experimenting with Latex Appliance make-up. I became "The One" of the arts working with Latex and F/X. At the time I only got into it around Halloween because I would win lots of money for best costume. Now the wife is allergic to Latex so I really can't do that anymore. So...that's how Jango Fett came about. All Latex free.
I also want to thank all of my best friends....all of YOU the Members... that for the past couple of years have given me the advise and wisdom that helped me creat a better looking Fett. Also , you had to put up with some bantering between the Fett camps. That was fun and really miss those moments....right? J.D, MGR, and WPK? :D

I'm Graeme Ring, I'm from St. Catharines Ontario, and I'm 18 years old.
http://petridish.net/pics/12840/intro.jpg
From when I was very young I was always into movies and props, taking apart electronic toys, making props and costumes (especially Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles!), and it got crazier when I was introduced to Star Wars. That opened up a ton of doors for prop and costume making, but the one that interested me most was Boba Fett. I made my first costume out out paper mache and carboard, and I haven't stopped since.
Just about two years ago I found TDH, and I am so happy to find a forum that I feel I really belong to. Everyone here is so helpful and friendly in a way I don't see in other forums. I am proud to be a Dented Helmeter!
Here I am at DragonCon 2004 with Jodo Kast 3, Trooper TK409 and Seeker (hope you don't mind me using your photo Chris!)

Re: Please introduce yourself
Hi friends
My name is Damian Woelfel. I'm from a tiny little town of 80 people in SW Minnesota. I'm 29 years old, & I grew up working on farms and in my dads mechanic shop when I wasn't running around in the woods and riding MX. I hate to admit it, but I guess I'm what most of you would call a "hick" :lol But I'm an educated hick!!! I have a technical degree in art & communication/design, and after I couldn't find a job that I liked, I went back to school and got a BA in Anthropology with an emphasis on experimental archaeology. Exp. Arch. is basically taking a primitive technology and trying to figure out how our ancestors made things work. An example would be taking an arrowhead found at an ARCH site, and trying to replicate it using the same type of tools & materials. I guess thats why I have come to love TDH so much!!! We're not replicating anything primitive, but we are doing research and trying to replicate a complex suit. My interests are anyhing involving history (watch the history channel constantly) and I'm also an avid outdoorsman -been hunting & fishing ever since I can remember) I have a very supportive fiance' and a new puppy & a pair of ferrets. I am so glad I found TDH. We have such a wonderfull community of master craftsman & artisans. It is also a place where I can share my passion with friends who share the same interests. Where I'm from, most people have never even seen SW, let alone heard of Fett:lol I don't know what I would do without my daily dose of TDH:)

Re: Please introduce yourself
It's kind of lame but I actually get a bit emotional when I see the progress that these costumes make.
Okay, now me.
I'm Brian, 27 and single (less than happy about it but it's okay) I live in California and work as an artist and a teacher. I'm primarily a sculpor but I paint as well. I'm working for a permanant credential to teach art. I earned my BA at CSU, Sacramento in art studio. Some of you know that I specialize in metal work (hence the metal Fett bucket (including full Jango armor), bronze Webley and metal fertility idol)
Other passions are art history and history in general - including studies in piracy and European Christiandom.
My prized possesion is my DeLorean. See a metal theme running here? It causes me more problems than joy lately but like many relationships we stick with it!! ;) And NO - I'm not going to convert it into anything BTTF!! (okay maybe a flux capasator but that's it!)

I´m married to a beautyful wife and we have 3month old daugter named Aþena (Athena)
My hobbies are collecting DVD movies and some star wars props and I have small collection of Lord Of The Rings stuff. I listend to alot of music, farvorite, Creedence ClearWater Revival, Ivan Rebroff, Billy joel, Ramstein, Rem and the list goes on.
My costumes are Stormtrooper FX/GT costume that I got last year and now I´m working on my Boba Costume. I still have a long way to go. I´m waiting for my MSH2 helmet so that one will have to be painted.
I was planing on finishing my cod/butt pice and back plate after the weekend but I have to go training in the shooting range for 4 days. After 9/11 and we have a lot of relastions with the US and after the US goverment wanted all flight from the world to the US had a "skyMarshal" and that part falls within the boundries of the Icelandic Police. So the cod/but/backplate has to be put on Ice for a while.
Hope to see more pics of you guys, don´t be shy. Thats me partoling the harbor, the mountain is called ESJA and overlooks our city. Note I´m not that fat it is the floatation suit. If I fall overboard I will not sink to the bottom.

Re: Please introduce yourself
This is a very good idea. I posted on the thread at the RPF and was also thinking that TDH should do something similar.
My name is Erik, I'm 28, single at the moment and live in NW Florida (Mary Esther). I have been in the US Air Force for the past 6 years and have loved every minute of it. Joining up was the best decision that I have ever made. (Other than deciding to build a Fett;)) I am originally from western Mass. I have been an avid Star Wars fan my whole life and have a substantial SW toy collection that just keeps getting bigger.
My other pastimes include (but not limited to): Mountain Biking (Not much of that in FL),skiing, Kayaking, Golf, pretty much anything to do with the outdoors, and recently adventure racing. I love to cook and plan to someday open my own scottish pub. I have a huge weakness for good micro-brewed beer :cheers and can't seem to ever get enough coffee:wacko.
My taste in music is very broad but mostly listen to alot of linkin park and talk radio (Conservative). My Boba suit is coming along slowly as I do not have much time to work on it. I'll finish it sometime though.
Here's a Pic of me at an adventure race outside of Atlanta.
Cheers

My turn:
My name is Matt and I have been a Star Wars nut since '77. I am married to a very understanding wife;) (married guys, you know what I mean), and we have three boys.:dohI work as a Police Officer in the bay area. The greatest movie experience I had was in '80, I was ten years old and my parents took me to see the ESB. Darth Vader told Luke he was his father, arguably the most exciting and surprising event in cenima history. I was hooked. I just recently got into the 501st after attending an event in 2002. Seeing all the kids, and some adults, going crazy for the Star Wars charactars was insipring. I had to get involved. Ever since then, I have loved every event I have attended, and hey, I get to act like a kid again. Here is a recent shot of the family at Universal studios last March. The big cat in the middle is no relation!:p

I also have a pic of me in one of my last events.

The Dented Helmet has been a great help to me, and I hope I can return the favor in the coming years.

Re: Please introduce yourself
Great idea! My name is Evan and I'm 29 years old. I'm married and have a dachshund named Monty Burns.
I'm an illustrator and multimedia designer in Southern Indiana(or rather, 45 minutes from Celebration III!!). I've been into costuming my entire life and Halloween has always been
THE holiday. When I was younger I was really into fx makeup and the like and I totally attribute this to my early exposure to Star Wars. Seems like I was making everything I could think of out of foam latex at one point in my life.
Around 2000 I began creating my Fett costume and have been working on it ever since. I'm on version 3.0 now and hopefully will have an 'unveiling' in the near future. I'm building my new gauntlets as I write this. I've been on TDH for quite a while and have corresponded with a lot of you here and could never have made any progress without all of your help. I'm into G.I. Joe too and I'm a music lover who tries to play the drums and guitar. My wife and I just bought a house and we will finally get to move in on the 29th of May! I already have my Fett space planned out. :D

Here I go:
My name is Juan Bustamante and I'm 31 years old. I live in New Jersey and I work as a computer salesperson for a friend's company.. I'm happily married for a year and 3 months (and counting! ;) ). I've been a fan since I saw the original trilogy in my country of origin (I'm from Peru). But the real determination to build a costume came when i saw a real fett costume in the 1998 halloween parade in NY. I was blown away. I started to build my fett last year and I'm almost done with it. After that,I'm planning to build a Jango costume. I really thank all the members I've done business with, and all the valuable input i needed to make this project a reality.

I'm Kristen, I'm 33 and have lived in Arizona with my hubby for the past 9 years. I'm originally from Iowa but moved upon graduating from ISU College of Veterinary Medicine. I have been practicing small animal medicine at the same clinic since graduation and purchased the practice 4 years ago. As a result, I am probably more in debt than everyone here combined :lol I have 4 cats, a bird, a horse, and the best dog in the entire world!!! My collection of SW started with the Timothy Zahn trilogy back in 91, and has grown since. I got interested in costuming after attending CI in Denver. The best thing about growing up is now you can buy the things you either wanted as a kid (a horse in my case) of the things you had as a kid and wanted again (Star Wars toys, a corvette, and a dirt bike) Here's some pics of me doing my favorite activities when not working or making costumes.

Ok here it goes...
My name is Art Lemos. I am 36, & have lived here in Las Vegas all of my life (yes a real native!). If that wasn't enough, I married a girl who is also a native! My wife & I have been married for 16 years. She is still as beautiful as the day I met her. I have 2 fantastic kids, my daughter (15) & my son (12). They are the loves of my life!
Now about me.
I was, still am & ever shall be a musician. I have been playing guitar for as long as I can remember. My father was a flamenco player & I chose the path of rock & blues.
I have ALWAYS been into sci fi, especially Star Wars. I was fortunate enough to have seen all 3 of the original trilogy on the big screen (several times each!). I got into make-up early on & started sculpting & casting in my teens (thank you Dick Smith). I did make up for a few commercials locally. When I got older, I started collecting props & the like. Before the internet, all of your business was by phone. I had a Marco Stormtrooper suit way back in 1993. I also developed a name for myself doing Michael Myers masks on the internet. I also did a lot of custom painting & airbrush work on masks & props.
I am now working on my Jango suit, a full size ANH Vader & an accurate Jango helmet that will be available to TDH members.
I also restore vintage cars & currently own a ground up resto
(that I did myself) 1967 VW Karmann Ghia that is immaculate!
I work for Homeland Security in the immigration & naturalization dept. I also am a licensed hair stylist, which is my part time gig.
Here is a pic of me & one of my "Mikeys":

Re: Please introduce yourself
My turn :D
Hello, my name is Shawn, I'm 29, and I live in Chicago.
About 9 years ago I was looking at The Art of Star Wars, the Empire Strikes Back when I noticed that the hose on Boba's gauntlet was the same as the one we had on our sink :lol That's when I decided to make my own ! Since I didn't have the comunity I have now, I was basically on my own.
I started building everything from scratch. I bought the Chronicles book and I had enough reference to build my suit. I worked on and off for some time, didn't have enough doen for C1, but when C2 came around, I stepped into high gear and finished it .... I ended building everything from scratch, from the boots to the helmet, I had a great time doing it :p
About a year before C2, I found my happy home here at TDH :D I cannot even begin to tell you how much help TDH has been with all it's information and all the helpful and encourging people who are members. I'm glad to have some very good friends here on the bord too ... they know who they are ;)
If you don't know already, my favorite suit is the Pre-pro suit :p That's the version I ended up making. Here are some pics from over the years :lol

Hey guys. My name is Art. I am 28 yeard old. Been here at TDh pretty much since day 1 and although I am not here as much as I'd like, I love this place.
When I am not hanging out here or at the RPF, I am skateboarding, pretending to play guitar, or working on some prop related project. I also spend a great deal of my time either on the phone or on IM talking to fellow TDH members.
I have been married for 5 years to a very very tolerant girl. All you have to do is look over some of my past ebay auction wins to see that...
I am also a HUGE Pearl Jam fan.
Guess that about sums me up.
Oh yeah. I like Fett and Sandtroopers. :lol Had to throw something Star Wars related in there.
Me at D*C 2002 in Dean O's Fett suit. First and only time I have ever been in Fett armor.

Welp here goes:
My name is Bryan and I live in Ohio. I'm 26 years old and have been married 2 years. My wife and I currently have a child on the way (2 more months!). I have always been a HUGE star wars fan but my collecting heart has always been into Horror masks/Busts. Nice "Sandman" Lemos! ;). I actually own one of those. ANyways.
I got into the SW costuming when I attended a con with some 501 buddies and ever since I wanted to do it. I really didn't want a canon character because I was sick of seeing 5 fett's and jangos at the same con so I decided to do a custom. Well anyways heres a couple pics!

Re: Please introduce yourself
My name is Angela and I'm 32. I'm married to the most tolerant and understanding man around. We've been married for 9 years and together for almost 17. We have pets as children.....two cats and a boa.
I've been a huge Star Wars fan all my life, but it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I did anything more than watch the movies over and over and over again. I love to sew so I've always been very popular around halloween with my friends...but lots of years I ended up with a ****** costume because I ran out of time for my own. Last year I decided enough of that and made Boba Version 1.0. I was pleased with how it turned out.....however now that I've joined the 501st and belong to the Badlands Squad (with Jodo_Kast) every time I wear the gear I hate something else about it. So many things I've learned just from the experience of building the first one, to meeting and talking to Jodo_Kast to reading boards like this one has taugh me all the things I'd like to do different. Boba Version 1.0 has had several upgrades.....but Boba 2.0 is now underway. I decided this time to buy my armor from Jodo_Kast since his templates fit together so much better than mine. I picked up the new armor this weekend at a 501st event so I'm all set.
I'm also in the process of making a Jango, a Tie Pilot and probably a Scout Trooper. For others, I'm currently making two Darth Mauls, a Darth Vader, two Tie Pilots and two Aurra Sings. Eventually I'll add Zam Wessel to my collection and perhaps a Royal Guard.
I'm a Legal Assisant with the Crown Prosecutors' Office. I also make jewelry and have my own company for that....although I haven't done much of that as of late. I'm currently also making a wedding dress for a friend. I'm also looking into learning how to make latex masks and how to vaccum form.

My name is Blake Fowler. I am 21 almost 22(June 30th) I live in Marysville, CA(near Sacramento) and I am currently single and always patiently looking for that special girl:D I am not working at the moment due to back problems and I am thinking about going to school. I have no idea for what yet but it will probably have something to do with computers or photography or both. I have a 14 year old chiwuawa named princess and I love all animals. I have always been good with my hands. From a vary young age I was taking things apart and putting them back together. So I love prop making and costuming. I have only been in to costuming for about three years. I have only one finished costume at the moment witch is a stormtrooper. And I am a yet to be active member of the 501st central CA garrison TK6210. Currently I am working on a custom and have a long way to go before I am finished. :D I am a fan of Star Wars, All startrek, and pretty much anything scifi and sci fact.:D

Hi, im Nathan Duncan, 31 years old & i live in sunny Scotland.
Ive been married to GREAT girl for just over a year.
Ive been a prop collector for a few years now. The thing that got me started in the hobby was that i had always wanted a Stormtrooper helmet every since i saw ANH all those years ago.
Thats when i discovered that there was a huge amount of different helmets out there.
After i found my Trooper helmet i HAD to have a Fett ESB helmet. Couldnt find what i wanted so with a little help from my friends i put this together.
http://gallery.photo.net/photo/2367865-lg.jpg
So far that all i have for my suit, but its a nice starting point. :)

Re: Please introduce yourself
Hello,
I am Eddie. I have been a huge SW fan since I was just a pup. I had the pleasure of meeting Darth Vader in person at a signing in Lansing Michigan when I was 5 and lucky for me that year my mom made me a really cool Darth Vader Costume from scratch. I had the original DP Vader helmet (Which I still have) to complete the costume. I have dabbled in Special F/X Make up since I was 12, playing Freddy Krueger for the Detroit Auto Show back in 1992. I just recently acquired a Marrow_Sun Boba Helmet and can't wait to get started on it. This is going to be my first SW costume as an adult and I can't wait!
Nice to meet you all and it was nice meeting those of you that attended the Motor City Comic Con this year!
This is me at 5 in my first SW Costume:

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hi, I'm Robert Suarez, and I'm an ALCOHOLIC! :lol (j/k)
I'm 34 y/o, married to a really tollerable and patient wife (Martha). No kids yet, but "the practice" keeps going ;)
I'm a Military Air Traffic Controller in the ARMY, serving (NOW in Italy), and about to be deployed to Afghanistan soon (which I hate this place also from the previous place -Fort Polk, Louisiana-), which I prefer a whole lot better. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful place, but at the same time really complicated (driving and living issues), as really expensive...compared to the EURO exchange to the DOLLAR. One quarter or third of my time I spend it online, checking emails, and here, of course.
I started with TDH 2 years ago (Jan '03), completing my Fett in June/July of the same year, and making upgrades and fixings since then. I started my hobby (and kinda always liked it) of costuming since I was in middle school...somehow, but I've made a "scratch-built" (minus the helmet-a DP) Vader costume since 1990 that I was pretty happy with it, but it doesn't fit me anymore, and I've wanted to upgrade since then, guiding me to get and looking for a Trooper suit, most seen everywhere, but I always wanted to do something more challenging...a Boba Fett costume, based on it's complexity of the costume itself, and being one of the most recognizable characters in the SW Trilogy.
Here's me with my Vader,
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...UM-MyVader.jpg
And with wifey in our first anniversary, (I'm clean-shaven now, and a few pounds extra than then)...

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
My name is Jason. I'm 28 and live in Chicago with my sweet lass Erica aka DarthPerfidious/BobaFemme.
I got into the whole costuming bit in 2001 when I met Mookie at the Pittsburgh Comic-con. Its been downhill ever since :lol . I've actually been involved building/collecting props since 1999 when I got my first Graflex.
Ever since I was a kid I always though Boba Fett was super cool. As luck would have it, I was not alone. I decided after my first Dragon-Con, thanks to the late night wearing of Dean-O's DP Deluxe, that I had to build my own Fett suit. I've been working on it ever since. It's wearable but not complete. Thanks to you guys and the never ending research into perfecting this costume. :D Now I'm on the path to upgrades of nearly every aspect of my suit.
I've been continually inspired by what I see the members of this forum making and doing. I am always amazed to see the work that comes out of here be it paint jobs or new part discoveries. It is very refreshing to see so many wonderful people so passionate about the Fetts and Zam.
And without further ado, here's a Mango Fett/Devo picture:

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hi all,
In addition to having a bad case of SW prop addiction, heres a little bit about me.
My name, obviously, is Sean. 28 years old, married.
Been living in NYC since 1993 (when I graduated high school), moved here to become an actor.
Fast forward to 2004, and I'm moving back to Delaware, now an attorney...funny the way life works ain't it?
I have a beautiful wife, Dawn, {I know Sean and Dawn haha) and we have 2 cats and a 13 year old retired racing greyhound that I have had since high school. For those of you whi don't know, greyhound racing is very very cruel to the animals and there are programs now that adopt these sweet, gentle animals out to families. I'm a dog person and I've never known such a good spirited, even tempered, well behaved dog. great and patient with kids too (although they hate skunks....long story....) for more about adopting greyhounds go to www.ngap.org
I also LOVE the beach, my jeep wrangler, theatre, movies, books, writing, etc, etc.
here's me and the wifey on the beach in my old cherokee:

Seems as though this thread has been on alot of web pages this last year. Well my name is Scott. I'm 36 and have 2 great kids and an unhappy Star Wars hater wife. I grew up a Star Wars fan. I saw the First Star Wars movie when it came out and won a contest with my friends by seeing it 75 times. Good thing it only cost .50 back then to go to a matinee! After school i joined the U.S. Navy and became a Navy SEAL. Been all around the world and have to say Australia was the best place to go. I got out after 7 years and worked in the jail in my home town for 4 1/2 years. I am now on the road patrol for the same dept. in Lenawee County Michigan. I don't have any updated photos of my costume yet to post but it is in some of the threads for the Mich prop party held a couple months ago.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hi, my name is Matthew Cassano, (aka Jaster). I've been apart of TDH for quite some time now, my old user name use to be 'MaTTster27', but I had it changed to 'Jaster Mereel', hence the attire. :jaster
[*] I'm 19 years old & currently live in Pennsylvania, I live at home with a pretty big family, (4 bro's, 3 sis) all my sis moved out & 2 bro's. I'm afriad of moving anywhere because of my SW collection, :lol "Never leave a figure behind!"
[*] I've been a huge Star Wars fan ever since I could remember, I started my SW collection back in 95' when the trilogy figures came out. A few years down the road, with collecting still going strong, I then started my SWRoom which then lead to costuming/props, etc... I first started off with my StormTrooper/SandTrooper attire. I then wanted something, 'different', so I went on a hunt looking for ideas until I played the game Bounty Hunter for GameCube & read the Jango Fett: Open Seasons comics & fell in love. So I picked Jaster Mereel from OS to be my next project. Since this day, that's all I wear, & that's how I got the nick name 'Jaster'.
[*] I currently own my own domain (www.MandalorianWarriors.com) & run a decent sized Mandalorian army, which seems to be getting bigger each day. MW.com takes up a majority of my time, but it's all worth it!
[*] Plans for the future.. as soon as summer breaks out, I plan on attending the New York Film Academy (NYFA) to pursue my dream of film making. I've been thinking about becoming a local cop, but this small towns weak.. I rather see 2 old women slap each other, rather then sit around here all day.. waiting for nothing to come my way. So I'm bringing my talent/dreams to the big apple, NEW YORK!
[*] What else.. oh yeah, love life.. well, I'm currently single just haven't had time to do the whole 'dating thing', it's hard to find a gal around here that holds the same interested. Sooooooo... if there's any takers on TDH that would like to spark up a chat, I'm mostly online; MerellFett 8) :lol
[*] Below are some shots of me on various occasions. I even managed to find a buckets off pic, so enjoy!

Hi, i'm Sam, and i live in Northeast Tennessee(aka "Outer Rim Territory"). I'm 29 and have been slowly making progress on my ESB costume for the past year or so, but its become a labor of love, not to mention a maddening quest for perfection. I met Jeremy Bulloch last October in Gatlinburg, which was an awesome experience that couldn't be beat, but a close 2nd is meeting Fetthunter and his crew from the 501st. Up until that point i had only seen pics of costumes, but after getting to study and admire Jamie's costume for several hours, i finally got a positive feeling that i might actually finish this project before i'm eligible for Medicare.....when i'm not trying to keep this project on track, i play a lot of softball and golf, and i'm a storage unit for the most useless collection of information known to man(but i rock at Trivial Pursuit). I don't post a lot on here, mostly just read and attempt to apply, but this site has given me more help and ideas than i could possibly list, but then with all you talented people contributing, its no wonder. My thanks to all of you, this place rules.......

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Ok,
My turn. My name is Craig, and I`m from the Chicago south suburbs. I`m 34 and I`ve been into Star Wars since 1977 when I saw it for the first time in the movie theater. I got into the whole costuming thing back in 1999 when I was researching a Han Solo ANH costume. This is when I stumbled across the OJA, where I met a ton of great people, and eventually became one of the site Admins. From the OJA I got directed to the RPF and from there....the AS YOU WISH board. Well, after completing the Han Solo outfit, I was at Wizard World Chicago, where I totally blame Turo, Goat, and TK895 for getting me hooked on the armor!! :lol They were the first guys I ever met, and I`m proud to call them my good friends today. My claim to fame is that I was the first to do a Jodo Kast costume, and after 3yrs of research and development, I got to debut it (incomplete but I did`nt care) at DCon 2003.
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jodokast/Images/dcon1.jpg
There was no better feeling than wearing this armor and people constantly asking to get their picture taken with you. And goofing around with everyone from the board is always a plus to!
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jodoka...ges/dcon13.jpg
And my supportive girlfriend getting silly with everyone`s favorite Mango..

I love this place...And I can`t wait for DCon 04.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey everyone!
Well i just joined this forum and you'll be seeing alot more of me this fall & christmas as i will be haunting this forum trying to find information on all the bits and ends for my very own Boba Fett armor/costume.
I'm a member of the 501st and you can find me there as TK518. Recently i've been dreaming of expanding my armour wardrobe and my whish list has come down to either a snowtrooper or a Boba Fett. Needless to say i'm leaning more and more towards the Fett.
Other personal info:
23 years old and i live in sweden so if there are any fellow scandinavian Fetts out there don't hesitate to email or PM me. Right now i'm studying for my bachelours degree so i can basically only afford to get the armour peice by peice.
But one day!!! I'll have it all! Any tips at this point are more than welcome as i've already been looking at different dealers. If any of you have any recomendations they are also more than welcome. my email: tk05180@yahoo.se
cheers,

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey Fetts,
My name is John Barrows, Jr., I'm 30 yrs. old and I'm from Milford, Massachusetts. Like the rest of you, I have been a huge Star Wars fan since I saw ANH in the theater at age 5.
I am a member of the 501st Legion- New England Garrison. I've been involved with the Legion for a year or so now and it's really a great thing to be able to dress up as your favorite Star Wars characters and help people at the same time.
I've been portraying TK + TD Stormtroopers all along, but thanks to my fellow garrison member + Dented Helmet member Bob Gouveia (Webchief on TDH) I got into building my ESB Fett. This coming June, I will be trooping for the first time as Fett and I'm quite excited! :D
I am a meat cutter for Whole Foods Markets and many of my fellow 501st members have given me the nickname "The Butcher". It sounds cool and if you saw the movie Gangs of New York, you know how cool a nickname like that can be.
I recently got out of the military after being a Military Police Officer in the Massachusetts Army National Guard since 1991.
I am single as of this past Feb, so any single, female Fett lovers, come and get me!!! :lol I'd love to find someone who I could share my life with. (But, you have to love Star Wars!)
Hopefully, I'll find my way to CIII and see you all in person.
On a personal note: I hope my good friend Hilmir, (Mobius on TDH) is going to be alright. He is in critical condition after being in a terrible accident in Iceland, where he is a police officer. He is a great person and I pray that he will be okay. Hang in there Hilmir! :thumbsup
Thanks!
John Barrows, Jr.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
OK, my turn.
My name is Vern Partello. Yes, the name is a family curse and not common. This forum definitely is a small world as one of our fellow members knows the only other man in the US with that name (my father) back when there was less than 600 of us. That was probably the coolest thing on this forum as far as discussions (PMs that is). Been out of loop over the winter but have dropped in at least once weekly.
Been a Stars Wars fanatic since i was a kid. Still have my original vintage figures in excellent shape as I was a stickler then with my collection. Got turned on to this hobby at CII when I found out you could build an awesome costume. Ran around for years in a loin cloth as a mountain kid/teenager/man. Still do that occasionally, minus the loin cloth. Don't quit have the figure I used to. Luckily, I married my wife when I did.
I'm 33, soon to be 34, unfortunately. I live in Southern, WI with my beautiful wife who has put here career (RN) on hold to take care of the three treasures we created. Two daughters 5 and 4 and our son who is almost 2.
Born and raised in Southern CA and moved to WI after we married as neither of us wanted to stay with kids in the plans. Admitting gunshot wounds every night on call gets old.
I did my bachelors in Biology with an emphasis in Biochemistry and Genetics. When I completed my MD we moved to the Midwest for my Family Practice residency. Now I'm a simple country doc in a town of 5000 with the best of all worlds. I practice the full scope of Family Medicine with Obstetrics, teach medical students from surrounding schools and continue to teach residents inpatient and out patient medicine. And on occasion can be found in local ER's and Urgent Cares moonlighting to pay off student loans.
As far as other hobbies I enjoy are Black Powder Rendezvous. Hence, the loin cloths. Wood working and minor construction. Military weapons and the AR-15 I recently built. My winter project since my Boba was on hold. Also, have a passion for vintage sports cars and my wife is just beginning to warm up to the idea of me building a Shelby AC Cobra next year. Fortunately, there are fanatics to work with there to make it as accurate as possible.
Pictures to follow.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Great thread - finally putting people to names and Fett faces. :D So many of you have been so helpful to me with ideas and answers in building my Fett outfit. ...And I have no plans to leave Fett costuming!
I was born Chris Bartlett in 1970 and saw Star Wars in theaters several times at age 7. I grew up in Arizona and California, but recently moved to North Carolina. I've built a Sandtrooper and a Boba Fett costume and am in the 4th year running a costuming website attempting to show how people can kind of do-it-yourself without spending a ton of money.
I just celebrated my 11-year wedding anniversary to the talented and tolerating Mrs. TK409 - we have 2 sweetpea girls. I'm the Interactive Director for the ad agency, The Republik , and used to be a cartoon animator for DreamWorks Television. In 1997 I majored in graphic design and illustration and have worked on the web ever since. I have also owned several classic cars - typically from the 50's & 60s. My latest, a 1963 Corvair convertible.
More about me here.

Hey everyone, My name is Phil and I live in southern California. I have been collecting replica props for about 8 years, I'm mostly interested in star wars and aliens props, I have many replicas, a few resin blasters, a couple of Graflex tubes, many helmets, a homemade Boba Fett costume about 85% finished and am currently working on a Lewis rifle(ala TK409) for my stomtrooper armor and have clonetrooper armor waiting to be started.

Hey Gang...
My name is Michael, I'm 32 and currently bartending in the big city of Bowling Green Ky, home of the corvette, the hilltoppers, and Nappy Roots. Up until recently I was a graduate student at WKU working on my masters in Communications. I am on my way to Monroe La to be the general manager at Alexanders, a restaurant I did some consulting for a few months ago. I have been working on this damned Boba gear for about 5 years now.

Is that "bad" pic because you're moving to Louisiana? :rolleyes
(Sorry, just kidding) :D, just I can't stop giving bad reputation about Louisiana, but it could be good, if you're in the City...just depending on the place you're (or will be) located at, and what you make out of it. ;) This is not my environment (Mid-Western La.)...bottom line, I was raised in the city my whole life (until I moved to La.).
Like I told you before in another thread (and via PM), if you're in one of the main cities in the states...you have nothing to worry about, and you'll find EVERYTHING you're looking for...trust me on that one. ;)

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Well, I think I should introduce myself, finally. My name is Chris Brown I'm 28 and from Casco, Michigan (about 30 miles north of Detroit). I have been a Star Wars fan since I saw A New Hope when it was re-released to the theaters in 1979-80. I teethed on my brother's figures and have vivid memories of playing in the snow with my AT-AT when I was a kid. I also am a classically and jazz trained Bass player (not the fish, the instrument with strings). I am an electrician by trade and enjoy what I do. I've been married to my wife, Carolyn for almost 9 years. I enjoy video games, 501st outings and participating in dramas at my church. When I'm not doing any of that, I'm upgrading my Jango costume and thinking of the next costume to work on. Here I am with a good book http://200.72.163.179/cdref/tdh/Gene...o Reading3.JPG

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
well, i am a high school student, liek making movie props and buying them! id rather not buy something i could make though! its more fun that way. it started when i was little i say soom spoof of cops with storm troopers and i thought that was the coolest so a few years later i found obiwans jedi achademy and i liked the idea of having a fett suit but then i started looking into making a tusken raider, i never finished that.but i have the gaffi stick i made.pvc wood and plastic bottle.then later when i actualy had some money i bought a fett helnmet oh that was after i found this place, but only because i got into james bond prop making and found the RPF. made the garrote watch from "from russia with love." that works! it was teh first non static movie prop i ever made. tehn i started liking freddy krueger so i got a kit to make my own and i have it sitting around now. made a few commercials for that freddy glove site but he never used them, i still got a free hat and sweater out of it though. on my free wime (that means when im bored) i made Half life models for mods. like guns and player models and such. so im pretty familiar in 3d computer graphic modeling.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Well, let's see, where to start?
I'm Rex Adams, been a Star Wars fan since it was first released. In addition to SW, I enjoy Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Ren Faires...
I grew up in Northern California, where I've spent the last 20+ years backpacking. I've been married for the last 18 years, have two awesome kids, (my boy is 14, my girl is almost 12, going on 17...)
I collect not just GiJoes, but pretty much all 1/6th scale stuff, from WWII to Modern to Sci-Fi to Historical to Fantasy. It does get quite crowded in my Joe Room...
I enjoy designing the figures to become as realistic as possible.
I still have my comic collection from when I grew up, although nowadays, I rarely add to it.
I used to fight in sword and armor for the SCA.
Used to love playing D&D. Used to work selling swords and armor at the fabled Blackpointe Ren Faire...
I am a Brown Belt in Okinawan Karate.
I'm a member of the Central Coast Garrison, and look forward to joining Brian, Mark and Dave in the Sacto area Garrison as soon as my Fett is finished!!! :D :D :D
After Fett, there will be a Stormtrooper, probably a Clonetrooper too, mebbe a Colonial Marine, as MLC just built a awesome Pulse Rifle!! (insert shameless plug here...)
I am a struggling Real Estate agent and working sales for a equip. rental firm as well. Pretty much 7 days a week.
Which interfers with online forums...!!! ;)
If it wasn't for practicing Karate, I think I'd go nuts!!
:lol
I worked in the action figure toy industry for almost 5 years, but the company "down-sized" and I found myself out of work. I found OJI- which led me here. Made some great friends, made a custom Mandalorian which of course, led to building a Fett. 1 1/2 years later, my ESB Boba Fett is closer to completion. I'm also helping Mardon (MLC) distribute custom Fett stuff.
I'll try and come up w/ some pics...
take care all,
-Rex

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Alrighty then. My name is Mike, I'm 33 and from the suburbs of Chicago. I've been a fan since it came out. I just recently got into the costume thing. At WizardWorld Chicago each year I would always get pics taken with all the costumed fans. So now I know who some of you are. One of my oldest friends Craig(JodoKast3) has been ddoing this for some time. A few months ago he showed me his props and let me try on his bucket. I was hooked. I've since fallen into this black hole called costuming which money can't escape(light yes, my checking account...no) I jus got my MLC bucket the other day. Since I don't have the skills like so many of you do, I sent it out to RA for painting. This will be mu custom Mandalore. I also have a ROTJ Fett bucket(and other pieces) so I would like to complete him someday.

My name is Bill Soloway, I'm 33 years old and live in Palatine, IL (northwest suburb of Chicago). I'm currently married to my lovely wife Jen, and a stay-at-home dad for my two kiddies, 5 year old Josh and 2 year old Natalie. In my what seems to be a former life, I taught middle school P.E., computer applications, and music for 6 years (not all at the same time).
I've been a member of TDH since the very beginning. I think I joined up the day after it was established. It took over three years to finish my Fett (as if it will ever be "finished"). Since then I've also aquired and built an awesome suit of TE ANH accurate stormtrooper armor, which rocks.
I'm also a member of the 501st midwest garrison, where I go by the name TK/BH 3423 (34 in honor of Walter Payton and 23 in honor of Michael Jordan)

Hi I'm Steven Walter and I live in Northwestern Ohio. I am currently 13 going on 14. As you may have already guessed I like to drum. I have been a star wars fan ever scince I was old enough to think um around 4... I collect star wars toys and my first figures i recieved on my 5th birthday. I like to draw, play paintball, and attend convemtions and toy shows especially in costume. I have one younger sister. I also have a huge obsession with reptiles which I have always liked from a baby. Someday i hope to be a zoologist. I also have a cat and 4 turtles. I would like to have reptiles but my moms afraid of the bugs they eat and my dads afriad I will turn the house into a zoo. I am currently working on a custom mandalorian. I started working on my boba fett costume with my uncle awhile back ago. It started out slow but then we got a move on and finished it. Now I love making costumes or props.

I'm Wes Herlick,
Born and raised in Hawaii. I'm 25. AM2(Aviation Structural Mechanic Petty Officer Second Class) in the Navy. I've been in for 6 years. Now residing in Virginia Beach. Did 4 years with VFA-87(3 of those painting jets), now I'm relaxing on shore duty stationed at AIMD Oceana.
I'm into just about everything. Close to finishing a build on my Integra engine, dropping a 350 in my Toyota 4x4, guitar, PC gaming, building PC's, surfing, scuba, rifles, skeet, 1911 handguns, tattoos, drawing, nitro RC cars....
Last year I started to research building a Stormtrooper outfit a few weeks before Halloween, I realized that wasn't going to happen due to time and money. I figured that if I'm going to spend this much money on an accurate setup, I'm going to make a Fett.
Purchased a helmet kit from TK-409 about a week ago, and registered here at TDH this morning.
I'm looking forward to getting into something artistic.
Still undecided whether the armor will be Jango or Boba ESB/ROTJ.

Hi to all,
My name is Sandy I live and work in London (UK) I'm a builder I do building maintenance covering all trades, I work for a company that has clinics all over the UK. Pay isn't great but I do get to work on bits of my Fett outfit at work so it's not all bad. I've been lurking around the boards here awhile, there was no way I could have started my scratch built ESB Fett outfit without the info contained on these forums so a big thank you to all.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Well I believe it's my turn to properly introduce myself. I was waiting until I got some decent pictures of myself out of costume but I never got around to it, oh well.
My name is Dan and I've been into Star Wars since the first time I saw it back in '95. I'm 19 years old and live in Southern California.
I run my own website, http://www.jedi-dan.net, which I have poured countless hours into. Check it out if you haven't already. I also am the Graphics Designer over at MandalorianWarriors.com
Right now I have two costumes, EP2/Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker and my custom Jaster Mereel. Here's some pics:
Right now I'm putting together an Episode III Anakin to debut at SDCC'04 and am looking into doing a Vader and various other costumes sometime down the road.

Man, am I late or what? :)
My name's Jen Angel and I'm 30 years old and I live in the middle of nowhere compared to the rest of you, in Kansas, but we make more airplanes than anyone else. Haven't interested Boeing in making a Slave I yet, though :)
I am a huge fan of Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, and am quite lucky to have a major supporting hubby to share my habits with. I am an eye doc with the Air Nat'l Guard, and a seamstress and a work at home mom to a 6 going on 16 year old who thinks Jango's too cool. Someday I'll get finished with Jango 1.0 so I can upgrade with the rest of you!

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hi all,
My name is Pontus and although I've been around boards like the RPF for a couple of yrs I'm completely new here. Looks like a fantastic place! Recognize a lot of names and/or avatars :).
I was born in '71 and live in Uppsala, Sweden together with my fantastic girlfriend Lottis.
I recently quit my job at a small biotech company and went back to university in order to get a Ph.D. in molecular biotechnology engineering. As a consequence, my prop-budget is severly restricted nowadays ;)
I've been into collecting/making movie and medieval costumes for quite a while but it wasn't until I discovered the many on-line forums a couple of yrs back I really got hooked. It's been a downward spiral ever since but I've met loads of fantastic people along the way and made some really good friends :).
Whenever I get a chance I take my Ducati for a spin or go sailing.
Cheers,
Pontus

Well, I know that it’s pretty late to introduce my self here, in fact there isn’t much to say about me.
My name is Michael, I’m austrian and I live in France since my childhood. I’m a free graphic designer, single (yes!:D), motorcycle rider and a big Star Wars fan since 77.
I started my first Boba costume in 98 and I’m still working on it after all these years. I believe that it will never be finished.
Sorry for my flat head, but it has rained. This ain’t my normal state, even after years of wearing a DP 97.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Okay, Okay, I know this is hugely late! I just came across this and thought I should add myself to it.
My name is George, born in '66, fell in love with Star Wars from day one!
Married for 13yrs to a beuatiful wife (who owns a dance studio where I do her identity and costume designs) Thankfully, she is very tolerating of my "Fettish"
We have two beautiful kids, one boy and one girl, doesn't get any better than that!
I'm a Design Director for a Multimedia Production company in St. Louis.
I've been coolecting Star Wars and other Sci Fi stuff since I was a kid. Still have my "early bird" kit as well as the figures from 1978!
http://200.72.163.179/cdref/tdh/Comm/Shea-fam-sml.jpg
Right now I'm trying to get together a Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, and a kid Fett for my son who is following in his dad's footsteps. I'd also like to make a Jedi for C3 and take 'em all.

...better late than never...
...Hello, my name is Lewis, I live in So Cal...Orange County to be more exact...currently very happily married with 3 kids, a boy and 2 girls...7, 6, and 5...I am just beginning my adventure into making a costume for myself and appreciate the boards availability for a newbie like me...
...been a SW fan since birth well not really more like since 1978...however, I have never really been a member of any fan club or forum pertaining to SW...ironically, my only real piece of SW memorabilia that I keep are my autographed Jeremy Bulloch SW TCG cards and Riddell helmet...these I had done in person...he is the coolest guy around...
...I am just stoked to finally be able to do this...
Take care and see you guys on the boards...

I guess I'll join in as well.
My name is Muhammed Ozeroglu. I go by Oz.
I am in the 501st Legion So Cal Garrison.
I'm 31 years old and married currently living in San Diego.
As a pre requisite, I am a huge SW fan, and have been as long as I can remember. I like to work with my hands and build anything. Due to time and resource constraints, I chose to start out with a ready made Jango so I could get out and start trooping as soon as I could. I have made lots of modifications to it. I can see that I will probably upgrade every piece of it slowly and hopefully, from scratch.
Here are some pics of my suit in various stages.
I hope to see and troop with all of you at future events.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
****! I can't believe I didn't post sooner on this one! My name is Bryan, I'm 29, been married one month today, and also have a VERY tolerant wife. :) I've been into SW since the beginning. Didn't actually start Fett until '96 (I think), and still have nothing to show for it, except for the two Webleys I have. Just got a new house and a new car, so funds have been limited. I'm also a longtime fan of the musical The Phantom of the Opera. I'm making a costume from that show as well, and it'll probably cost as much as Fett to make, but it's well worth it. :)

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
hey all I am fairly new to the TDH forums but have met a few of you so far and have thouroughly enjoyed it all, My name is James Holmes I live in Griffin Georgia just 15 minutes from DC in atlanta, (and can't be there, buying new home thank heaven) I am new to the prop collecting ring and costuming and am 3/4 of the way done with suit (rotj fett) i'm 29 have three wonderful children twin sons 2 yo monday 6th and daughter 9 yo who is dying to get a mini trooper costume to follow in her fathers footsteps. My wife and I both are in law enforcement and have been for some time she longer than me though and she is so patient with my recent whims to buy all kinds of prop stuff, IE.. darth vader next and hopefully if im graced the super footsoldier from stargate, so this new hobby has immediately become time consuming and expensive thank god for my supportive wife and other fans like yall

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey everyone. My Name is Anthony. I have been a member of TDH since sometime around December of 2003. I've been working on a Jango costume for a while now. It has definantly proven to be much more expensive than anticipated! It has been much funner making a costume than buying one though. I am also working on several costumes right now. 1.) X-Wing pilot 2.) New Republic Special Forces Officer 3.) Light Jedi (just need to get the belt) 4.) Dark Jedi.
Here's the light Jedi getting there. This pic is pretty old now. I now have boots and am almost done making a belt. Also I have made a few sabers.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ker98/Jedi.jpg
I also like to make movies/films/whatevers. I am in TV Production class At Apopka High School and we learn a good amount of stuff there. I think I have learned more from the internet though. I have been making films for about a year and a half now. Someday I will make that Star Wars FanFilm that so many people dream of completing but few succeed. Well thats everything I can think about right now. TDH is the best forums I have ever been a member of. Seriously.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hi, my name is Zak, and I am a Fettaholic. I live in Sacramento, CA, and split my time working for a big wireless phone company (can you hear me now?), going to school to get an IT degree, chasing my 3 year old daughter around, and trying to maintain some shred of a social life. I'm brand new to this forum, and to the whole costuming thing. I've never been to a convention, but I've been a huge SW fan since I was about 4 years old, and Boba was always my favorite character. Ever. Out of everything. About 6 months ago, I stumbled across tk409.com, and found this place. Since then, I've been obscenely obsessed with building a custom Mandalorian (almost done), after which I plan to start on an ESB Boba, and maybe a stormtrooper. If I do that, then I guess I'll have to join the 501st too. Guess I'll also have to start going to Cons if I want to actually wear this monstrosity that I'm making. Seeing all the pics posted from D-Con and Comic Con in San Diego is only making me want it more.
My sister and friends think I'm the biggest nerd ever for being into this, but atleast I have taste, right? The few of you I've met on here already have been a tremendous help in helping me aquire a few pieces for my suit that I couldn't find on my own, and I think I've learned more about building a Fett just from reading these boards than a normal man's head can hold.

My name is Craig, I'm 34 and I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. When I was 16 my family moved to Clearwater, FL and I now reside in Nashville, TN.
Besides putting together an ESB Fett, my hobbies include playing ice hockey (I'm the goalie), "playing Geddy" in a 3 piece Rush tribute band (thus the 2112 in my title), and playing paintball.
I'm a computer geek and just stopped working for a big wireless company and started working with a huge healthcare company. My girlfriend of some 8 years is very tolerant to my hobbies. And have been a huge Star Wars fan since the originals came out.

My name is Chris (tho all my friends call me Mule... A nickname from college). I am 31 years old and single at the moment. I'm a professional costumer, working for one of the largest Shakespearean festivals in the country as a costume crafts assistant. I am also a trained cutter/draper and kiltmaker.
I joined TDH about a year ago to research a leathercraft project for Bradleyfett, but until recently, when I started my own Mandalorian, haven't been around much. I just attended my first Dragon Con and am now hooked. I'll definitely be around more often from here on out, and will hopefully get the chance to meet you all at DC next year.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey everyone! I am new to this, so forgive me if I do something wrong. As you can tell from the name, I normally just lurk around here from time to time, but hopefully I will be more active now that I have been to my first Con and met some of you guys. :) I had an absolutely wonderful time this past weekend. I owe it all to Jesse, who opened me up to this whole experience and had everything to do with my very first costume (the Bride from Kill Bill.) I hate to admit it, but I had never even seen a single Star Wars movie before I met him. Boy have things changed! Anyway, I am really glad I got to be "famous" for the weekend. I loved all the costumes (Elvis Trooper, Jack Sparrow, Barbie Fett, Lt. Dangle, the Elven Archer, etc.) but unfortunately, I missed out on Mango Fett- I am really depressed about that. The highlight of my weekend was meeting David Carradine.. and being with Jesse, of course. :) I enjoyed the Dented Helmet panel- congrats to Arturo on winning the baby helmet!
So here is a little about myself..
I am an 18 year old student at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa but home is Carrollton, GA. I am studying to become a speech pathologist and hopefully one day I will work in a private practice for children. I enjoy playing tennis, watching movies, going to concerts, and spending time with Blastech.. my main squeeze. I look forward to seeing you all next year! Thanks for making my first time very pleasurable! <- (After the discussion @ the panel, I know ya'll will enjoy that.)

Im totally in LOVE with sports bikes and ive been riding motorbikes since i was 17. Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hello everyone, My name is Darrin Moore I am 32 years of age and live in Kentucky with my Wife. I moved here from Richmond, VA (where I was born and raised) 6 years ago to a job prospect and desite all the rumors that Kentucky is a hick town have found out quite the contrary.
Anyways, I have long been a fan of star wars ever since My father and myself stood in the long line for tickets more than 20 years ago.
I had just about every toy and loved the other two movies even more, and swore Empire Strikes Back was and still imo is the best movie in existance (original cut).
Over the years I kinda fell out of the star wars scene and didnt really pay to much attention to it, when I seen something Star Wars I still thought it was pretty cool but still didnt have a drive to build a costume. That all changed when I heard the movies where rereleaseing I took it upon myself to make my first fett costume which was horrible but I had fun.
I also started to collect action figures and that is a real pain cause they make so many that look so good, and have a room with about 500 action figures, statues, etc. etc. pretty much anything I think is cool. I do not have any kids so it is still all unopened hehe.
That sparked my interest in all kinds of costumes. I have recently just finished my full plate custom armor from LOTR's. Needless to say it isnt fake and weighs some 45 pound. Quite heavy to treck around in.
Then a few months ago I was thinking about Boba Fett for some strange reason and my old costume and just decided to give it another shot. I dug my old helmet out and after reading alot about what kinda helmet was good I was surprised I had a 95 deluxe don post helmet. so I thought to myself this is probubly one of the hardest pieces to get, lol which I was so wrong.
But it gave me a good start and here I am today still trying to get this thing together so I can wear it to a big costume contest in my local mall on halloween, and then to the premiere of EpIII and beyond.
I also just bought a really awesome batman full mask with cowl, and it looks just like it was molded from the movie one for cheap i couldnt pass it up, so it looks like I will try and have my batman ready for the con next year so I can have 3 costumes to take.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hello All.
My name is Jenni Dryden. I am single - still looking for the right cool geek boy. ;) I'm 34 (soon to be 35 in less than a month) and have been costuming since 2002. I live outside of Philadelphia and am currently in school full time for yet another degree. I am studying Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia to go into Costume Design for Film and TV. I will graduate on December 17 and have been busy completing an internship and classes so I missed DC this year.
I have been a Star Wars fan since it first came out in the theaters in 1977 when I was in second grade. I played with my Leia action figure so much that her nose wore away and she has no more face. :) I started costuming right after AOTC came out and attended my first convention ever that August at DC 2002. I made something like 10 costumes in about 8 months or so and then before I knew it others were asking me to make costumes for them. In Spring 2003 I found myself back in school to turn my hobby into a career. I am going to continue making my own costumes for cons as well as pursue my career while being based out of Philadelphia. NYC is close and lots of filming goes on in the region. I plan on starting to compete in costume masqs in 2005 and have a few interesting ideas in the mix. I'm also getting ready for C3, Costume Con and DC '05 with some new Star Wars and sci fi garb. I've been sort of a lurker around TDH since Fall 2002 after meeting Seeker and others from the MidWest. I have thought about making Boussh but haven't had the time or resources to get started.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Nice to see that this thread is still alive and kickin' although a lot of the pic links are now just red X's.
My real name is Chris. I am in my mid-30s although I still get carded from time to time. :) I am divorced and have two great kids which I'd love to see more of (they live with my ex). I spent half of my life living just outside of Cincinnati and the other half here in Indianapolis. I grew up watching sci-fi and monster movies and never grew ouf of it. I made my friend a Boba Fett costume in '95 or '96 along with my own Darth Vader. Both served their purposes as 'Halloween-type' costumes, but I longed for a costume that looked like it came right out of the wardrobe department at LFL.
I started working on my own Fett costume in 2001 where I stumbled upon AsYouWish.com, the defunct EZboard that preceeded TDH. We outgrew that site and The Dented Helmet was born. I currently serve as TDH website Administrator along with moderating the Armor and Cargo Hold forums. I am also a proud member of the 501st Legion and serve as the Commanding Officer of the Bloodfin Garrison.
Here are some random costume pics of me from this year's Dragon Con.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Greetings everyone!
I finally got around to registering after my friend Dion busted my chops about lurking so much. ;)
I'm 35 years old. I'm an aerospace structural specialist.
I got into costuming a few months ago and have two completed costumes. Ya can never have enough and since I just got my paws on a previously modified DP Boba, I think that might be my next project.
Thank you and enjoy the show. :)
Joe

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey Folks,
Since I busted on Joe for so long to join, I figured I'd join up myself. :)
For those that don't know me, my name is Dion, and I'm the XO of the 501st Northeast Remnant. I have a stormtrooper/sandtrooper costume, a Royal Guard, and a Tusken Raider. Had a Biker Scout but got rid of it.
I've always wanted to put together a Boba Fett, so maybe this group will be the proper inspiration for me :)

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
I wonder how I missed this thread? Nice to see my snowtrooper armor made it. ;)
Hey everyone! My name is Cherie. I'm 31, single, and I live in Michigan. (I feel like I'm writing a personal ad here)
I was first introduced to TDH by Mr. Fett and CutestSandGirl back some two years ago when I met them. They talked so warmly about you all that I had to check it out. I got to know some of you better over the last year and I want to thank you all for making me feel like part of the family here.
I'm not working on a Fett, Jango, or Zam suit, but I did get to put on the bobafettish suit. I now know what it takes to be a boba costumer, and I must say that I have new respect for those who wear the suit for long periods of time.
I currently own the aforementioned snowtrooper armor. Chris did an awsome job putting it together and weathering it. Thanks a million!! I'm so glad he got the chance to show it off and take such cool pictures. He definately has more accurate soft parts than I do so I'm hoping to upgrade my coat to the same material soon.
I also have an imperial officer costume and I'm in the process of putting together my favorite bounty hunter, Boushh. :) Oh, and I also costume as Cover Girl from GI Joe. A lot of thanks goes to Andy for his constant help and wealth of knowledge, and also to Kimmy for helping me make my first imperial costume, the Royal Guard (which I sold cause it just doesn't look right on a 5'3" petite frame). I also have a couple of projects in the works thanks to some friends here. ;)
In real life I work as a family therapist with children in the foster care system. It's hard work, but rewarding at the same time. Seeing a family successfully reach their goals and knowing you helped them is the greatest feeling in the world. I can't wait for C3 when I get to see you all again in person.
Here's my new favorite picture of me: (thanks JodoKast3)

BTW, thanks for your input and advise thus far, its been greatly appreciated.

Greetings.
My name is Christov and I am a hopeless Star Wars nut. I trust I am in good company here.
I am 25, I've lived all over the US, but I have settled back in my place of origin: Albuquerque, NM. I am lucky enough to have an -amazingly- beautiful and intelligent girlfriend, Cathy, now for three years. I am tattooed... a lot. I'm a Myspace junkie, a former PuNk / Deathrocker and (quite ironically) a former US Army soldier. Presently, I am an undergrad History/Psychology student. I expect I'll wind up in Academia with a History degree, but I'll see what I can do to avoid that.
Star Wars is wicked-awesome of course, I've been a huge fan for the past two decades. I consider Fett to be the most appealing and sinister of all the Star Wars personalities, hence my draw to this forum.
My first Fett is starting to come together thanks ENTIRELY to you incredibly talented, helpful people. Thank you for the insight and assistance with this ongoing project.

Hey, My name is Nick Nutcore.I reside in Staten Island, NY (cant wait to get the hell out of here!) I'm a 22 year old College undergrad majoring in Computer Science and soon to be minoring in Japanese language and culture. I'm a big collector or action figures, kubricks, Anime models and such. The walls of my bedroom are wallpapered with star wars figures. I've been Fett obsessed since I was about 13. Oh my 18th birthday I ran to the tattoo parlor and permenitly decalred my Fett obsession lol.

Hello to all, I guess I could join in on the fun. Names Pogo and ill leave it at that. Been a Fett fan for a long time and have been trying to work on a Fett for about 4 years. Now I have the places to get stuff so it's not a problem. I'm unemployed right now waiting for school to start in Jan. I was in the Marines for 4 years and joined the active Army, went into Iraq with the Marines as a in between man for them and the Army Patriot missiles. If it was in the air at any point I saw it on radar, except that ultra light Iraq flew to spy on us. Felt bad for the guy flying that thing. Any ways I'm a Firefighter for the Army reserves in Houston. Thats what I'm trying to do in real life. Live most kids dreams as a firefighter, and the chicks dig it. Got a GF thats 21 and I'm 26, I figure you got to get them young.
It's been a crazy 8 years of my life and it doesn look like it's going to let up any time soon!!!
Messed up the link at the bottom,,,, thats my PIMP Pic

I am Bobafett669, Real name: Michael Koenig. Reside in Flower Mound Texas, New member of the 501st, Star Garrison BH-1869. I have always been a star wars fan but never even dreamed of having my own suit until I can across TK-409's website and he directed me here. With a lot of help from the forums I have almost completed my Jango suit ans will be attending CIII and hopefully will meet some new friends. I have not actually met anyone I have spoken with on the boards. I built almost off of my suit except the flightsuit and vest which I have made for me. I worked with Chaucer44 on getting a bunch of jet pack kits for some people and even though it was alot of work I am really impressed with the job i did for a first timer.

I have a Boba Helmet I bought from Mobius in hopes on one day completing a Boba suit but so far I am just finishing up my Jango.
I am a huge hockey fan and play weekly in an adult recreational league. I go to the gym 3 times a week and I own 2 small internet based businesss in addition to my fill time job with Travelocity. I own and run a toy collectibles site site called koenigscollectibls and also run an aquarium service and maintanence business. I referee kids roller hockey games on the weekends and try to fit my prop building into this busy schedule somewhere. Kristen, Chris, Turo, Mobius, Chaucer44, and many others were a great help in getting my suit completed. I hope to meet up with them in April at CIII? :)

My name is Timothy Sullivan, I live in Dyer, Indiana, right outside Chicago. I'm 28 years old and I live with my wonderful girlfriend Suzie(her only flaw is that she doesnt like Star Wars) and our two kids, Jonathan and Zoe. I work in oil refineries all over, we specialize in entering confined inert atmospheres, which means I get to wear really cool astronaut helmets and go inside chemical reactors, really it sucks. In my spare time I practice Brazilian jiu jitsu and every so often I compete in no holds barred fights. I cant wait to go to CIII, it will be my first convention ever. Its my sons birthday the weekend of CIII, he will be 4, and he is fanatical about Star Wars(my girlfriend says I brainwashed him) and he is goin as a jedi. Well thats about it, Ive enjoyed reading everyones bio on this thread, so I thought I'd add mine. Heres a pic of me at my pc.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey everybody
My name is Michael Eubank. Im 20 yrs old from Darlington, SC. I have been doing costume work since I was a senior in high school and a Star Wars fan since...ever.
I first got into costuming while surfing the net one day and stumbled across Mark Bradleys, Build Your Own Boba Fett. I decided, "Hey, I can do this!" So, I got some paint, some plexiglass and superglue and tried to fashion an armor vest from an old t-shirt. My first attempt ended in failure....
Coming out much wiser, I registered on ebay and snagged a DP 97 Boba Fett helmet. Later, I bought a complete Jango armor set. I had originally planned to make Boba Fett, but money began to run tight at one point and I decided against MORE paint and chose a custom Mandalorian.
To date, I am still not completed with my 2 yr-long endeavor, but it is begining to take shape. Most of the painting and modifications are complete, but a couple of pieces are missing. My hope is to have the suit ready in time for D-Con 05.
On top of my wish list is a Darth Vader, though i think it may be some time down the road before that becomes a reality. In the mean time, I hope to have a stormtrooper, Imperial Officer and X-Wing Pilot.
Heres my pic

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
Hey everyone! My real name's Bryan, and I too have been blessed with a very wonderful and lovely wife. I'm 29, and have been into costumes since I was a kid. It's all my mom's fault!
My first Star Wars costume was Obi-Wan Kenobi when I was in the Second Grade way back in 1982! The costuming bug died off until about 1991, when I got completely obsessed with Phantom of the Opera. From there, I started playing with plaster and mask making. My love for Phantom steered me towards getting a degree in Theatre. While there, I learned about sewing and building cool props and set pieces. In 1997, I decided to tackle a Boba Fett costume. My mom taught me how to use a sewing machine, I learned about vacuforming :) , and it took off from there! I have yet to even finish my first suit. :( After a few years of R & D, I realized it was going to get expensive quick if I didn't plan well. So I took a step back to get my life on track, and focused on one piece at a time. And I'm still not done with it....
I joined the Air Force in '00, and I'm still proud to be serving. I just got promoted in March, and we're expecting our first baby in about a month. It's a boy! I hope he likes Star Wars.... :) My wife said I'd have to let him be Boba and I'd have to be Jango, at which point I whined in a very pathetic sounding voice," But I'm Boba...." She almost fell out of her chair.
I also had a detour to Fett show up in 2001. I got access to a Phantom costume I had been dying to make in college, but had like 3 pictures to work from. I was told by someone working on the show that their costume cost them over $10,000 to make, so I waited 'til the time was right. Enter 2001....The costume was on display in San Antonio, so I took over 100 pics of it. I also figured out who made it, so I took a chance and gave them a call. Best phone call I ever made for costuming. :) I now own stage used masks and other pieces from the show, and have a kick *** start on that costume. There's so much beading and hand work though, that it will take a while to finish. I even had parts of my outfit made by the people who made the originals. :) Score! I'll try to post a pic of my hat later.

Re: *Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread
:jodo :) Howdy!
My name is Kevin, I'm 24 and live in Tampa Bay, Florida. I'm not married but have been dating my girlfriend Kara since July 04, we have no children at all, well except for my Ford Mustang, thats my baby.
I'm an ex-Disney animation intern. Unforunatly my internship eneded quickly when Disney closed thier animation studio in Orlando. Since then I have been trying to figure a way to get my carrier back on track.
At the moment I'm in the process of producing 2 series of comic books with the hopes of getting noticed again. :?
I have been into prop making since I was about 18, currently I'm working on 2 custom Mandalorian trooper's (Yellow), as seen in Jango Fett "Open Seasons". I have also made dozens of sets of TK armor in the past. My current prop portfolio includes a finished RPD Stars (Apocalypse Cannon) uniform, and a 99.5% complete Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th 6-7 Cannon) costume. I hope to next work on making 2 biker scouts, so that my gf and I can troop at Star Wars Weekends. Hopefully next year with the rest of the FL501st garrison.
My few non art related hobbies are, Ice Hockey and video games. I have been playing Ice Hockey since I was 14, and have won 7 unoffical state roller hockey championships, and came pretty close a season ago to winnng my first Ice Hockey championship. Quick disclaimer!!! I don't mean to sound "cocky" by saying I won them, but since I'm the goalie, I can hummbly say that I with out being egotistic. ;)
As far as video games go I have not been able to play them as much as I would like, but hopefully next fall once my girlfriend and I move into our new apt., I can do some catching up. Right now I only have a Nintendo Game Cube but plan on getting a Xbox this summer. I know I've missed the boat. :o
As you can guess my main intrest is Star Wars, particulary Mandalorians. One day hopefully before Lucas croaks he can include a small Mandalorian army in a Star Wars movie, but doubt it. My other hobbies are pretty typical for a guy, I love my car and Mustang's in general. I'm a big sports fan I love the Miami Hurricanes / Dolphins, and the Tampa Bay Lightning *GO BOLTS! I don't really follow sports that don't include constant violence, in fact I don't even consider them "sports", more like "games", at least in my book.
Currently I work at Allstate Insurance as a paralegal. Hopefully once I get my art carrier back on track I can make some money doing what I love and escape the corporate rat race. :cheering
I don't have a digital camera right now so I will have to take pic's the old fashioned way and post them later.
