Geez... I'm not the only one to spend waaaay too much on this!

Zam is ***** expensive!!!! Hmmm... Bodysuit, leather, boots, blaster, greeblies, misc. parts ... we're running just about the $1000 mark! And I still don't have a finished wearable costume! And I've got more parts to build and/or buy! Yikes!!!!!

I have calculated stuff and I think that my zam is going to cost $2780.02 Heheh, just had to add my 2 cents...

Erm... I think having kids is cheaper! ! Unless of course your daughter wants a Zam costume too!


The question should be: If you had known how much any of these costumes was going to cost - would you have done it anyway!

Thats sums it up. I got a great deal/steal since Ive been dealing with 1 particular group. Helmet, All the Armor, Gauntlets , Jet Pack, ESB blaster ....$450 including shipping. Dont ask . It was unpainted and untrimmed. Helmet and jet pack assembled. But as for telling people how much mine cost and they think Im nuts. Im like you dont know what this is worth!!!!

leds- $20 workin on em
various paints and sandpaper - over $100
ammo belt- $15 made
dremel tool- $40
gloves- $ 1.50 cheap parade gloves, sewn by me

I'd say 650, it'll cross the 700 mark real soon! and I wouldn't have it any other way! this is just a real relaxing outlet for me, I love it. viva boba fett!:cheers

I do what you do, but . . . I cut mine down to one third actually! And then yes, people still think I spend too much!

Sucks even worse up here in Canada cuz of what our dollar is worth. Makes it seem that much more.

I went through all the stuff when I laid it out the other night...easily $1500. When finished, it should come in just under $2000- which was what I had figured it would be...

Ain't expensive hobbies grand?!

It kills me that my "TK" (and TB and TD) friends in the 501st Legion that I troop events with THINK that I probably have "about $500" in my suit, since you can get TK armor for $450+. Little do they know (or would believe) that my costume is upwards of $2600 now, and I don't even have a jet pack yet!!! My helmet (MSH1) alone almost cost me as much as some of their entire COSTUMES did!

And THEY get snippy when we're at events and people bang on THEIR armor! :facepalm

I have $350-$400 in my Jango.
I bought the Helmet,Gauntlets,Ammo Belt,Shoes,Gloves.
I made the Armor,Jet Pack,Blasters,Holsters,Jumpsuit,Belt,Vest.

Time, Time,and more Time.

So far I am into it for $800 US (which is roughly $1000 in Canadian funny money ). My acquistions to date include:

1) MLC Armor (great stuff!)
2) Halo_1's LEDs
3) Ruffkintoy's gauntlets
4) Misc parts such as Cod bolts, decals (from Ely), vest material (from BF), Jet Pack straps etc
5) Air brush and compressor

I expect to have to pay another $1200-$1500 ($1560 - $1950 CDN) by the time I am done.

I am trying to build with not having upgrades to do - I know you can never be free of the upgrade bug

I love this hobby!

Lets see...Hmmmmm As of now with Jango 3.0

Boots, Jumpsuit, holsters, gloves and vest around $300
Jet Pack $300
Gauntlets $200
Westar34's made by my buddy (the most accurate)
Armor all handmade by me in the Airframe shop at no cost
Nickel plated 1 of 2 Jango buckets. Priceless!!!!! (it cost me more then my house payment!)

I'd say over 1,700 and still climbing...for my Jango, the Boba is another whole story....I'm so broke.
