Fiberglass Fett helmet kit: $100.00

Heiland 2-cell flash for blaster: $31.34

Blaster blocks: $10.67

Shoulder/cod bolts: $10

Scope for blaster: $16.90

Gloves: $96.75

Gauntlets: $250

Mystery Helmet: $200

Shin tools: $60

JP: $320

Over $1000 in one month and not even half way where I want to be. That's not even including shipping, paint, a Dremel tool, bondo and other sundry materials.

Heh.

Does anyone else find themselves lying when people ask the how much they paid for things 'cos you know nobody but a fellow Fett would understand? I usually cut the price in half, and even then people think I'm crazy.

Cheers!

about sixteen hundred dollars with a bunch of addons, ie led display, servo control, sound effects. Not as bad as my stormtrooper costume which is about 2500 hundred. My upcoming predator outfit is going to be at least so far 1800.

Okay, when I last posted on this thread, it was for a custom Mandalore...now, with a accurate ESB Boba Fett, I'm in for some serious coin. SERIOUS!!!

I don't even want to add it up...yet!

 Yeah, when people ask me what we've spent, I don't tell them the grand total (probably about $1200.00), I just tell them about the cheap stuff..."well, we've made a lot of the costume ourselves...the armor is sintra, which we got for $24.00, and we made the belt, which was $25.00 for the leather, and $5.00 for the glue....and the jet pack is styrofoam!" I don't mention the $100.00 gauntlets, the $250.00 helmet, etc...or the fact that even the cheap stuff required buying a dremel, bits, sandpaper, paint, needles, a wondercutter, and on, and on, and on!

lets see,

MSH-$50
MB Gauntlets-$30
jumpsuit-$5 (made myself from perfect fabric on dollar table at wal-mart)
vest-$1 (got around 3 yds. of great fabric at church rummage sale)
armor-$10 (made my own from rolled aluminum)
gloves-$0 (made from leftover vest and jumpsuit fabric)
cape-$0 (made from old t-shirt)
rope belt-$4 (made from nylon rope glued together & painted brown)
ammo belt-$5 (made from brown vinyl found on clearance)
blaster-$10 (made from a plastic gun,pvc pipe,wood,& a tasco scope)
side arm-$0 (made from old broken squirt gun I had)
misc. accessories-$10
glues,sandpaper,velcro,paints-$40
jet pack-$15 (made from foam board with wood frame and plastic and metal accessories-not to brag, but I think it looks almost as good as a kit you can buy)
shoes-$10 (made myself from by converting cheap shoes found at wal-mart)

So that puts me at around $190 and it is nearly wearable, i say wearable because I am now entering the cycle of never ending upgrades

I would like to add another $45 to that total and get a set of Bobo's awesome chest lights, but my funds are gone :(

Yeah, the new jumpsuit and voice amp will get me that much closer to 3K. I'm glad I've just about finished my upgrades, for now anyway. ;)

Oh I've got way over 3 grand into costuming, don't get me wrong. I just don't have it all invested into Boba. ;)
Boba was my first "main" one to build, but I'm currently working on my third Star Wars costume, and have money tied up in two other characters from two other series/genres who are equally as badass as Boba is. By the time I'm done with all those, I'm sure I'll easily pass the $5,000 mark...and I still have to upgrade Boba someday... Why are all by hobbies expensive?
