how do i change my avatar, i dont have a control panel. do i need authority, if so how do i get it?

In the top center of the Forum window press the 'My Helmet' option, then in the left side go to 'Edit Avatar' where you have two options: upload image from Website URL or your Computer. I would suggest to use images from your Computer, because it's easier to work with. Just remember to take in consideration the file size and type:

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 120 by 120 pixels or 50.0 KB (whichever is smaller).
