*** New TFU2 Trailer!

WOW!!!! My son and I absolutely loved playing the first one and have spent many hours together playing this game over and over. He is going to be so excited to see this, can't wait to show him.

That was sick...So vader leaves like the most powerful force sensitive in a room with six storm troopers and thinks theyre gonna be able to kill him? I dunno about that, loved the first game, and Im reading the book just to read it and its a little more in depth obviously. But Im pretty sure hes been cloned in the first game also after reading over half the book so far. Cant wait to get into this one as well

The trailer is absolutely epic, however I do have one complaint about these games. Every single time they bring out a sequel to games like this they just keep putting in more and more powerful force users. I hate to be the type of person that complains about these things but come on.....by the time these games go any further one of Vader's apprentices should be able to force crush an entire planet.....why bother wasting time and resources to build a death star when you can just get Vader to train a guy for a year or two?
That's it for my rant.....so glad to see it's coming out for the Wii though I dread seeing that cinematic intro then being stuck with the wii's ****** graphics.
Thanks for posting that link, very enjoyable.

Well, I wouldn't think of the game as really "canon". I totally agree with you there. The game designers aren't really creating Siths or Jedis anymore. They gave this apprentice godlike powers in these games. The apprentice can destroy a Star Destroyer with one simple swipe of his hand, easily wipe out a whole garrison of Imperial Stormtroopers, (Including Imperial scout walkers & regular Imperial walkers) destroy squadrons of Imperial TIE fighters, and kill a herd of bull Rancors, and even monsters bigger than the Rancors. (And he can do all this before breakfast.)

Why would Vader also abandon someone who is actually several times far more powerful than Yoda, Palpatine and himself combined? The game designers would also keep adding super new cosmic powers to this apprentice character, that eventually the Death Star would become obsolete! They made the apprentice so powerful that he could take on the combined forces of the whole Jedi council and even the Mandalorian army without sweating. This would also invalidate the prophecy of the "Chosen one". His powers are almost on the same level of cosmic galactic powers as the galactic planet destroyer, "Galactus" from Marvel Comics. (The novelization book of "Force Unleashed" is even worse.)

Don't get me wrong, while the game is really cool, and the trailer is awesome, I think that the game designers really, really, really went overboard with the apprentice's powers. So what will we see next? Apprentices that can destroy a planet with his or her pinky finger? Whole star systems destroyed with one slash of their lightsabers? And if they get really mad, they can destroy millions of galaxies by a mere snap of their fingers?

The nice thing about the Star Wars universe is that we get to see Jedis, Siths, Mandalorians, Imperials, Bounty hunters, and Rebels with human limitations. They all know that they can get killed in combat, but they are willing to take a risk for their cause. Even Vader & Yoda as well Palpatine had limitations. When your remove those limitations, the game designers are basically creating a god. (They should rename the title as, " A cosmic god unleashed!")

This really isn't really Star Wars anymore...

Problem is.... these are considered cannon. KOTR never technically was given a cannon stamp by Lucas. One of the big hypes around the first SWFU was the fact that Lucas stamped it as a cannon storyline, the same with this one.

Oop aack! That would be as bad as making the Star Wars Holiday Special "canon"... Does Uncle George really know what kind of powers the game designers are really giving to this apprentice character?

I hate that Vader has an apprentice, anyway. It takes away from his offer to Luke about joining him in ESB and belittles it to more of a "Oh well, maybe this guy will be a better apprentice" .

They may have gone overboard with the power, but remember the designers' whole premise for the game was to show us what Vader meant when he said, "...The power to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force."

The major problem I have with the game (and with prequel/sequel novels, cartoons, and other media) is that they continue to detract from how cool and original something is the first time you see it by going back in history and having someone else do it all the time. Example: Vader lopping Luke's arm off? TERRIFYING. Not anymore, because it's an everyday occurance in the prequels. The Emperor's force-lightening excecution of Luke? HORRIFYING. Nope- Now his lightening looks pretty lame compared to EVERYone elses'.
My point is that history moves forward, so things in the OT should seem more atrocious than what came before it. That's the problem you run into writing history backwards.
