Plus, since I ain't myself personally a nerd by definition, I really don't like Pollys avatar, what so ever. So, not unless that's some kind of special geek day that we all should never forget, I take offense to the improper use of that phrase, it's taken.
Boston Scare - January 31st, 2007
"On January 31, 2007, police in Boston, Massachusetts received reports of devices resembling bombs in various places around the city. The devices turned out to be electronic signs similar to a Lite-Brite that displayed images of the Mooninites Ignignokt and Err giving the finger, and were designed to promote the Aqua Teen Hunger Force television show as part of a guerrilla marketing campaign authorized by Cartoon Network, the cartoon's parent company. The boards were present in several cities for weeks before the ones in Boston were reported.[4]
The Boston City Government sought a reimbursement for the money spent responding to the incident. The amount quoted was $500,000 initially, and then was increased to $750,000.[5] On February 5 it was announced that Turner Broadcasting and the city of Boston have reached an agreement to pay $2 million to offset the cost of removing the devices: $1 million to cover the cost of the agencies involved and an additional $1 million in goodwill funding to homeland security."

paul you might wanna listen to voltair, you don't want to get booted off.
I think it was also the 'flipping off' image that Voltaire was referring to.... not just the text underneath it.
This board is available to people of all ages and I know the admin staff do a good job to keep everything here family friendly.

I'm not commenting on his avatar, or its appropriateness. But I will comment on the Aqua Teen incident. "People are really stupid"
if you can't tell a light bright of a character that is old news from a bomb then you are just an idiot.
The city sought damages but it's their own fault. They could have asked any kid on the street and they would have said "that's from a tv show"
Instead they wasted tons of money assuming it was a bomb and going from there.
It's ridiculous.
....so anyways.... new CGI movie, woohoo!![]()
alright, fudge all of yas! all change it again!!!!
ok, if ROB THE FRIGGUN ROBOT OFFENDS ANYONE THEN THATS TOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!!!!!!![]()
My Great Uncle Myopis was brutally killed by a white and red toy robot gone haywire. . .
oh, the sad sad memories!!![]()
Has there ever been an incident where someone has place, glaringly obvious objects around, that light up and sometimes flash, that were set to explode?
Except in the old batman / robin tv show?
Lets face it, they didnt remove them because they thought they were bombs.
I think almost everything done by my local police could be classified as "over reaction"Originally Posted by ItsThatGuy
