ahhh yes very nice. How does someon get a hold of one of those fantastic costumes. do you have a message board? I'm digging the idea of doing one. Just by seeing the image of the group. MR.FETT hook me up. How weird the everytime i see a thread about the MR FETT helmet I think of you. Not Master Replica.

Good quality Predator costumes cost as much as good quality Fett costumes. A full complete painted suit is normally in the $2,000-$3,000 range and it can go up from there, if you're talking about servos. There's only 1 or 2 people that mess with those, to make remote controlled servos for moving shoulder cannons, remote moving gauntlet blades, working mask mandibles. Add a few more grand to the cost if you want those parts.

Most everyone uses either a full face mask or the helmet with an undermask that has no face on it (like they did in the movies). I go for the faceless mask myself because I can install a CPU fan and get more airflow, which is needed because full latex suits are very sweaty. Just like the Batman costumers. Latex doesn't breathe.

I also tell everyone I can to platform their feet. Since pretty much nobody is 7 feet tall like the Predator movie actors were, we try and get as much height as we can. I have 5 inches of platforming hidden inside my feet and the top of the head adds another 3 inches of height. I'm normally a little under 6 feet tall barefoot, and in that suit, I measured in at 6'8", which is decent.

Yeah! The upgraded suit looks the business. Those feet though look a little bright, is that due to the paintjob being new? And one last thing. I'd never realised until now just how huge that Ram bio is.

Yeah, the feet are brighter than the rest, even though they were painted with the same paints as the older body. I've already talked to the guy that painted them about toning them down as he noticed the same thing when he saw the pics. I literally had them painted a few days before the con. I actually did the weathering to the bio helmet the night before the con!

Yeah, the Ram bio helmet is about the biggest bio around. But it was in the movie, too. Go watch the scene he's in. He's got the biggest bio of all the Preds that were there.

I tested all sorts of bios on my undermask, and the Ram just seemed to be the one that fit best. I like it on my suit. It looks like the brother to the Ram in the movie I decided. The movie one had blue/gray skin tones, and mine are blue/white. We both have different looking armor, but both are silver tones. The movie bio has airbrushed stripes horizontal across the forehead, but I left that off. I wasn't trying to make a duplicate of him, but I can be his brother..... just like Boar and Brother Boar that were also in that movie scene.

Yeah Andy I've seen the lost hunters at the end of P2, and sure the Ram is huge but it was just seeing it in another context, ie on your suit stood next to Kim that made me realise just how big it is. You don't see many folk using the Ram for their suits but it sure does go well with yours.

I've actually never seen anyone else use the Ram on their costumes!!! It usually ends up on a wall with a bunch of other bio helmets that people like to hang up.

Kim's bio is a complete rework of one of the smaller UK bios, anyway. So hers appears undersized and mine appears oversized next to the P1 bios most everyone else uses.

I'm getting there. Around my area there's a Design Co that has tons of reference books from old movies. Some of these books never been made public. Last time I check, I saw some amazing images of the old predator suit. So you know I'll be scanning all those books up.

In the Star Wars costuming clubs, most everyone is trying to match up to a movie suit, with only a small number of costumers making custom or EU characters. In the Predator costuming world, almost every costumer is making a generic member of their race, with only a few people trying to match their costumes up with a particular movie suit.

Those costumes look great, but as far as the movies themselves go, there's only the original with Arnie, the rest are junk.

I used to have a P2 bio on there. Now, it will be used for one of my other upcoming Predator costumes. Oh yes......it will.......

I've already started getting parts together for my second Predator costume......with a few more planned sometime in the future after that.

Yeah, I guess Hunters are Hunters, especially costuming hunters. It must be in the blood. I may work on a second Pred myself, especially seeing the new costumes in the new AVP-R movie. If this is successful, they hopefully will make more.

Wasn't there a Fett and Predator fanfilm floating around somewhere? We should get all the custom Mandalorians and Predators for a cool fanfilm sometime....

This is some mayor revival on the topic, but I have to say that femme predator costume is the best looking female costume I've seen. There is a Queen Predator around, professional quality, but it doesn't have the predator look. This one does. I'd like to know if the armor was bought of made? I haven't seen this costume on thehunterslair.com, I'm looking for some tips and ideas to make my armor out of common materials such as plastic, etc. you know, recycle, it saves money.
