question:

for us who have/or are working on custom mandos, are we allowed to post backstories about our characters? I like the be creative since I'm making a custom. If so, I'm sure We'd have to post it in the sarlacc pit since It has nothing to do with armor building.

Congrats to the new mods, and current mods for the new changes. :cheers

I think The Dent said it best ".. we are not big brother.." However...
I am in a quandary about possible preemptive banning situations, I have no issue whatsoever about proven unapologetic re-casters and the likes(which deals with the prop world), however I am not sure where I would stand on the "Raz" situation. Depending on the situation (as in full details of the event with the minor) and whether he was convicted or not would need to be assesed. I think banning someone like that crosses into a grey area(again I apologize as I do not know all the details..nor do I want to), irregardless of the fact that this is a privatley run board which has the right to allow who it wants as members.

Would that then mean that anyone who has been charged with a criminal offence should be pre-emptively banned? (again I recognize that this information would not be sought out by the board mods).

My point being that it can be a slippery slope once it begins.

I hope that all made sense and I'll keep to myself what truely should be done to pedophiles.

Kivas, in the case of Guy Raz, he is a convicted sex offender. Again, I do not want to get too deep into that specific example as it has been discussed to death on other boards. In the case of someone like Guy Raz, TDH is a family friendly board that is home to a number of minors. We are not their parents, but when we can, we would like to protect them from such individuals. The same is true of recasters. When possible, we want to protect the members of TDH from such individuals. Is it our job to be the guardians of the memebrs of TDH and shield them from all harm? No it isn't. However, stopping such things before they start results in a board that runs much more smoothly. peacefully and with little strife and that is our primary goal. We want a peaceful board that people feel comfortable and safe at. We WANT you to be here and come back often. We want you to feel comfortable here. We want to foster a positive and uplifting community. We are not unrealisticly idealistic but there is no place here for those whose purpose is to cause stife, contention and trouble.

Absolutely not. We are making no blanket or emphatic statements here. Remeber that all the rules within the code of conduct are subject to interpretation by the administration. The new additions are more of a safety clause than a threat.

I get the impression there are a number of people who are afraid that we are overextending our reach in this move and that we are sticking our noses where they do not belong. Again, I want to stress that TDH is NOT going into a big brother mode. However, we will not turn a blind eye to misdeeds done elsewhere and wait for a TDH to be hurt before we act. We would prefer to be proactive than reactive and nip problems in the bud before they have an opportunity to fester and become nasty.

I had a feeling something was coming from that event. We're going to see repercussions everywhere due to that.

While I believe you are correct, our decisions regarding these issues were made before the guy raz incident although I think it is a fairly good example of why we are taking such measures.

I only brought the question up, as I knew it would stir a variety of emotions among the board members.

I for one applaud the efforts to keep this forum as honorable and approachable as possible.

We come here to share and enjoy a common passtime/passion and make some friends along the way.

I also think that the mods here should stand a take a bow once and a while, who take on what sometimes may appear to be a thankless job which for many is voluntary. BRAVO.

Awesome!! You guys will do great!!

Hint to TDH staff from an admin on another board with Jodo - don't let him burn the place down. ;) *heheh* I keeed... I keeed...

I've just got to mention that TDH has got to be the best moderated board I have ever been a member of and new examples of this are given daily.

Mr. Dent

If ever in the near future you decide to run a web board for Slave Bikini enthusiast, there is a man of great diplomacy skills here. Also, it would be wise and in the best intrest of the board members to choose the Sniffer himself as board moderator!

By the way, thanks for the updates and keeping us posted. You operate this board the best way you can and have dedicated countless hours into making this work.
