My Vintage SW Colection...

AWESOME COLLECTION! :love

I love seeing all the vintage graphics and packaging! I guess for me, as a packaging designer, it's always interesting to see how the bilingual typography is handled. Also, as a side note regarding some of the history surrounding all the "STAR WARS" packaging and graphics, it was done by a design firm called LPK in downtown Cincinnati up until 95' when Hasbro bought out Kenner. I worked for them a for a few years, unfortunately it was well after the "SW" hey day! :cry I was told of all the prototype figures just lying around, "Rocket Firing Boba Fett" figures, etc. etc., you name it! There was a Design Director there that was also a huge "SW" freak and scooped it all up when it was still lying around the office years after they didn't have the business anymore. He said he made a pretty decent chunk of change selling it to collectors and kept the rest for himself. He actually gave me a few 4x5 color transparencies of photo shoots that were done for the various "SW" toy lines. As a matter of fact, the Kenner building was only 2 or 3 blocks away and that's where the "Pre-Pro 3 Boba Fett Photo Shoot" was done, that then was used on all the 3 3/4" and 12" figures, pretty crazy cool history. 8)

THX for sharing a life's worth of collecting! (y)

:cheers

I knew kenner was here in Cincy, but I didn't know about the design firm being here as well, nore that the photoshoot was done here, that's cool! Kenner was down near the Dalton Post Office right? Do you still live in Cincy?

This is where I'm at now for vintage. I'm redoing / upgrading most of my 12 & 21 backs, so I'm a little short there for now. I haven't ever done much with POTF, but will tackle that at some point.

The ESB and ROTJ are pretty complete though.Just missing a few alternate shots (gundrawn & gunner Luke and desert Fett).

Haha, I meant to post these a while back and never got to it :) Oh, well.

Here's most of my collection. Several things have been lost over the 10 years I've been addicted to Star Wars. I really wish I had some shelves to properly display the items.:cry

Yes, my collection isn't that impressive but it is priceless to me and I could never part with any of it.

Nice collections! I have a limited amount of vintage stuff, mostly loose figures. They're in pretty decent shape overall. I have them in little plastic cases so the weapons and accessories don't get lost.
I got 90% of them back in the 70s-80s, and my mom (bless her!) kept them in storage for many years till I got a place of my own.
Apart from the figs I only have a few original ships/toys, all loose: B-Wing, Y-Wing, Dagobah playset, Hoth Turret & Probot playset, Land of the Jawas playset, Rebel transport, Cloud Car, AT-ST, 2 Tauntauns, Wampa, and the Rancor ("Oh no! The Rancor!"). But it's stuff I won't ever get rid of. :)
