I live in Western Massachusetts in the Berkshires and believe me we get quakes on occassion. They are relatively minor compared to California. The last one I remember was around 2000 . It was early in the morning and I was half asleep and the mattress was rocking. I thought I had dreamed it, but later found out we had a minor tremor.

I got so use to earthquakes growing up in SoCal that when I was in Chile a couple years ago i thought that an earthquake was a helicopter on low approach to the base
