Left Handed, Stag AR-15, custom built by me, fires 223 ammo
Remington 870 Tactical 12 Gauge Shotgun, customized by me
H&K P2000 9mm Hand Gun

I was never into guns until my friend took me to the shooting range a few years ago, and I got hooked.

Plus I have a little bit of that "Red Dawn" in me that needs to be ready if it all goes down.

The black rifle has been a favorite of mine for years. I became a Colt armorer a few years back and began to like them even more. But I am a Glock guy when it comes to the pistola. I am a Glock armorer too and I am amazed at the simplicity and effectiveness of the Glock design. Not that there is anything wrong with H&K.

Nice selection you have there though. The left handed thing on the AR is kind of a trip. If I am seeing that correctly does the dust flap go up? and I would suppose the case ejects at a doward angle?

Mullreel: You got it right on the AR, it does flip up.
I really like Glock as well, but as a lefty, the H&K is fully ambidextrous; the mag release and slide lock both have access controls on both sides, also you can change the grip size, and I have really big hands so that helps. It is a 9mm, so it doesn't put big holes in things, but it is a great, accurate gun, with very little kick. I have a S&W 44 Revolver with a huge kick. Now that puts big holes in things. I use it when I'm fishing...haha.

...and here is my Slave I:

I like the XD series (HS2000) from Springfield, personally. Best pistol that I've ever owned. However, I don't own any firearms anymore. Stupid family. =P

Nice AR, btw. I'm jealous. I used to be pretty handy with the A2. :)

EDIT-

Here we go, these things shoot so nice... I can't hit a thing with a Glock, but I can put a round anywhere I want with this.

The XDs are nice. For my concealed carry I use a Glock 27, its subcompact, 9 rounds of .40 cal. Glocks are hard working guns, though they are to light for my taste, this is better than the 2.5 pounds of steel i used to carry with my 1911. My wife uses a Taurus PT140 and again, subcompact and awesome. I carried a XD .45 for about a year but they just get so bulky, even the compact ones.

EDIT: Found a picture of the Glock 27. My magazines have a extension for the grip so it feels better in the hand. Wile they may not be the best at range, for me it doesnt matter because pistols are not meant for ranges great than 50+ yards.

God bless America!
When I was over for CV I ended up heading to Arizona for a week to stay with some very good friends.
As a bloke coming from a country where guns are not part of our every day life it was very strange to be in the company of folks who were armed to the teeth.
Personal weapon on the hip, back-up on the ankle and a blade.
I felt ridiculously under-dressed armed only with my charm, wit and dazzling smile. LOL
I hadn't handled a weapon since my army days in the dim past.
I took upon a new philosophy rather quickly.
Don't **** anyone off and always know where the exits are. ;)

I had a G23 and I couldn't hit anything with it... It was like learning to shoot all over again. I hated it. Just me being a whiner, I guess... ;)

Everyone has a slightly different shooting style and different guns work better for different people. My buddy can't hit anything with my H&K, but I love it.
I found a pic of my 44 magnum revolver:

Revolvers are cool, and they don't fail. I agree this one is not an every day carry, unless you hunt bears for a living. I want a smaller 357 revolver, it would be a very reliable secondary to my H&K, and not like carrying around this hand cannon.

...and it's not like I carry guns around with me.
Like I said earlier, I am just prepping for "Red Dawn" to happen...
or I guess more realistically "Dawn of the Dead". hahaha

I think that any gun that shoots reliably and without to much work, is a good gun. If you can put bullets down range and towards the enemy, it is an effective weapon. I collect Russian guns myself. There is just something about the Russian built guns that really catch my attention. They are a great combination of terrible visual appeal and extremely hardy weapons.

Not mine, but I own the same gun. It's a Kahr .40 My hands are too stubby for the boxy glock, I picked this baby up, a few days ago, just put my 1st 100 rounds through it today and it fires like a dream. It's small enought I can conceal it in a holster in the back of my belt, or in the pocket of my flight jacket, or a shoulder holster and not have it bulging out. Also I like how there's no stupid *** built in safety in the grip/trigger. My best safety is myself. There's no round in the chamber and my finger is no where near the trigger until I'm ready to fire. The only downside so far is the mag I have is only a 6 round magazing, but I figure after 8 years in the military and 17 years of hunting/shooting before that, If I need more than 6 rounds to drop a guy then it's time for me to sell my gun. I've applied for my carry/conceal permit and am just waiting for it to arrive.

I am a fan of the AA-12, that is the mother of all shotguns and every Mando's wet dream in the area of firepower. It was the gun that made Adrian Brody look like a bad shebs in Predators and that bald dude on the Military Channel put it to goo use on a room full of dumbies. BOOM!

PS: It would also kick the holy frejoles out of any zombie that crosses its path :D

Mandosoldier. I am not a fan of integrated safeties either, but like you said "The best safety is yourself" I keep mine chambered at all times, no sense in having to rack the pistol if its a life or death situation. I haven't spent any time in the military, though I do hunt and shoot regularly and agree with you, its nice to have more bullets on hand but if you need more then you probably shouldn't be using a gun. I have put over 4000+ rounds threw both of my glocks, not a jam or misfire. I used to hate them, but I gave in and bought a glock 22 and the durability is second only to the AK-47. I still prefer my Kimber 1911 over the other carry gun I have, but comfort, concealability, and weight are what make me not carry it. I can un-holster and fire the G27 a little faster than the 1911, and that could be life or death.

Bubba, i like the AA12 as well. I bought a Saiga 12 a few years back and converted it and it is an amazing gun. Its the same thing as the Ak-47(same factory in Russia) just chambered in a 12ga shotgun round. Has an adjustable gas piston so you can fire 2 3/4" and 3" mag rounds out of. Plus, a civilian can get their hands on one. I picked mine up off of gun broker for $550.

I just keep it unchamber simply because it takes me perhaps 1 half second to do it myself, if I don't have that then I figure the dude probably already has his out and has me in his sights, so having one chambered probably wouldn't make much difference, again it's my own personal safety to ensure that it won't go off unless I **** well intend for it too, not really trying to shove it off on others, just my own thing. I tend to laugh when vendors/other people try to sell me on integrated safetys, no finger/no chamber = no fire. But do you really want to be where you have to use it to save your life, only to find at the last second before you're shot that your trigger won't pull because your finger didn't cover the safety on the trigger, or the safety malfuntioned and won't come off? I don't hate glocks, just can't use them due to their boxy grip and my stubby fingers. I've fired one of the AK's that the iraqis had while overseas and personally I'm not that impressed. It works best in controlled bursts, as with automatic fire, the first round goes on target, but the rest just kinda fly. It's durable sure, but the M-16 we carried were a bit more accurate at the longer ranges. The rounds they use are better in afghanistan because as troops are finding out, the lighter M-16 rounds just aren't making it over the mountains and into their targets as well as the heavier 7.62 rounds. But in all, I'd rather have the M-16/M4 due to lighter weight and accuracy.

Oh hands down the M-16 is more accurate and with the lighter weight and lower recoil they are far superior in the accuracy department. But the AK-47 is not the same type of gun, they ak is meant as a gun for suppressive fire. I watched a video a while back where a guy had explained it very well. If you look at the fire selection switches on the AK and the M4, the AK goes from safe to full auto then to semi, where as the M-16/M4/AR go from safe to semi to burst/auto. I own both and love both, the AR is just much more of a pain to clean lol.

The only other thing is with the finger on the trigger safety thing. I have never had a problem with my finger not being seated properly to pull the trigger. The safety is pretty easily depressed and you would have to be using your fingernail to pull the trigger to not cover it. We all have our own shooting styles and standards and the only thing that is important is keeping our well armed country, well armed.

I just picked up a Ruger Sp101 .357mag and it is a great shooter. Solid, sound, and not to badly priced. If anyone is looking for a good .357 for their first revolver, look this one up.

Talkren, how's the recoil on a Seiga 12? I've never had the pleasure of firing one so I'm curious if it has a uber kick to it. The thing that turned me on to the AA12 is that it has little recoil and that you can fire it accurately while holding upside down; good to know if you ever find yourself having to fire it upside down. lol

The recoil is about half that of a pump shotgun. I wouldn't fire it upside down lol but it still is pretty manageable. But you can get one without a class three license.

eh, imo there are better suppressive fire weapons available. But again it's all in the situation, I don't know of any home defense situations where I would need suppressive fire, I'm not exactly the Punisher running around getting into firefights with gangs etc... Militaristic ally speaking, your belt fed weapons M249's, 240's, RPD's, and even .50's are gonna do a much better job of suppressive fire simply due to being able to put more rounds downrange at a time for a longer period of time than an AK. Using for self/home protection, and since going with a rifle, I'd go with AR-15 with adjustable stock and shortened barrel. You only need to be accurate up to at MOST 25-50 yards, and it doesn't have the length so they won't see your barrel coming around the corner before you turn it, and won't get caught hitting walls, doors, in thin hallways. As far as full auto, again I'd take accuracy over a lot of randomly sprayed rounds anyday, having a 100 round clip means nothing if you don't hit what you need.
