Hi all,
I had mentioned in a a couple other threads that we recently moved from AZ to VA and have been busy setting up our new apartment. My wife will be staying here while I'm stationed in Korea, and I'll be coming back here after my overseas tour to most likely finish my Air Force career at Langley AFB.
We've been working hard since our stuff was delivered and it's finally in a liveable state. I've set up our computer and a lot of my SW collection in one of the extra bedrooms and just wanted to show some pics.
I decided not to mess around with my gridwall display this time. It's a lot of work to put up and take down by myself. So I bought some nice black shelf units and combined them to make a 9' wide display.
Here's how it looks from the doorway. Hi, Artoo!
Here's the main display area.
A couple of closer shots of the display shelves.
Above all those shelves are my autographed action figures. To the right are my autographed 8 x 10s.
In the opposite corner I placed 2 smaller matching shelves to support my scratchbuilt Millennium Falcon.
Over the top of the closet, I hung my McQ figures. I think I have them all. . . I may be missing one, though.
So there's my new "shrine." Still a few things I'd like to tweak, but time is running short (I leave on June 2nd) and I'm glad I had time to set up the collection. Plus it got rid of an awful lot of boxes that would have just been stacked up against the wall while I'm gone!
There are several items that aren't displayed here because I shipped them to Korea! Couldn't be without all my "toys." I shipped my entire Boba costume, my MR Han Solo Elite blaster, my Coyle Bladerunner blaster, and my Gentle Giant animated Boba maquette. As well as a few figures and my "swag" from the JB Event in Dallas.
There were just a couple of pieces that got damaged in the move, but none of the props themselves. They were fine. A couple of my acrylic display cases were cracked, so hopefully once we turn in our claim paperwork I'll get reimbursed.
