    My Fett So Far.

Well last night I had some pictures taken so I could submit them for a possible Rose Parade march. Here's what my Fett looks like so far!! My blaster wasn't photographed because it was not needed for the parade. I just bought a new jumpsuit, ESB sidearm, and shin tools from RT, so I'll have to get some more pictures taken when they arrive!!

    WOW Andy

That costume rocks. From the previous versions you have come so far. I think you look great. Your costume has that dirty, battered, weathered look that symbolises Fett. I just wished mine had turned out that good

You won't have any problems with that costume mate, and if you do then someone needs their eyes tested.

That looks incredible! It would be great if they picked an ESB Fett for the Parade (and you should be the front runner!)

    Thanks for the comments everybody!!

And about the spats, that's the one last thing left over from my "mixed" version, before I knew there was a difference, hah. They will be gone when I get my new jumpsuit in. I don't think that they'd hold me from going to the parade, they could always just ask me to take them off.

That's the trash can jet pack The laser cut one is in the living room, but I didn't have it hooked up for a harness or have it painted yet.

Nice ESB, you should be picked.

By "Rose parade," do you mean the big parade on New Year's Day? I'll be glued to my TV watching for you, man.

Awesomes suit Not sure what this Rose Parade is, but I'm sure you won't have no problems with such an outfit!

However; before going marching, put on your thong and get those knee straps dirty!

One even appears to be blue by the way *ponders deeply*

Yes, the Tournament of Roses Parade. There will be two floats, Naboo and Endor, there will be 200 Stormtroopers, the marching band will be dressed as Imperial Officers. My family's native from Michigan, and we hang their flag outside of our house every Saturday, haha. I'm hoping they beat Ohio this weekend.

Hehe, I was lucky enough to get one of the last V1 sets of Rubber Knee Pads from MOW, and as I painted them, the straps got weathered, so they'd be in the parade instead of the ones pictured

And I am NOT wearing the thong.

Oh well, you've got a great Fett, I wouldn't have minded seeing you up there!! I didn't want to get my hopes up, there are a ton of Fetts in SoCal I'm surprised no one posted about the Parade needed characters on the forum!

yeah I heard about it only 2 days before the deadline from Obi-Dan who got the email from the Rebel Legion. Oh yeah Obi-Dan didn't get in either. You still going to help decorate the float right Andy?

I also heard about it days before the deadline, if I had a week or so longer, I would have painted up my new jet pack, new kneepads, and would have paid Ruffkin more to send me my parts quicker, haha!!

Since Obi-Dan is in my area and is part of the Rebel Legion in my area, I bet he got the exact same e-mail I did at the same time. It's a shame he didn't get selected either, he pulls off a wonderful Obi-Wan.

Also, I won't be going to Pasadena to work on the floats, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it, and I doubt I'll care to watch it on TV. The whole parade has been irritating me as a whole, the entire selection process seemed unfair and appeared to be completely random. Random as in select all of the officers, and then fill in the rest of the positions with random members or SoCal members. I don't mean to sound jealous, but there were some great marchers in my garrison who didn't get selected so some marchers who were horrible and have screwed up costumes got selected, then bragged about it their amazing skills.

Yeah the sucky thing about Obi-dan is that he used my address here in California (i only live like 20 min from Pasadena) He basically lives here now anyway and will be moving in the new year. Yeah I kind of have to agree w/ you on the selecting process. I have a feeling they just did that to appease alot of us costumers. They had already made up their minds long before the deadline. oh well.. Que Sera, Sera

Hehe, I understand them preferring the other costumed characters to be SoCal members, but I didn't feel like I was an equal with the rest of the legion as was told when I saw who got selected all together. I wasn't a good marcher, I knew I wasn't going

Andy, sorry you didn't get in the parade mate

your costume is good though, but i suppose there can only be a certain number of ppl selected. I hope there wasn't internal politics involved because your costume is great and would have looked good in the parade

Hey Ronin, I don't want to confuse my Fett's submission with the marching submission as a Stormtrooper. 200 Stormtroopers of the legion were selected to go to the Rose Parade in Pasadena, and other characters are also going in attendence. I didn't make it in as a Trooper, now not Fett, oh well.

There are no politics involved at all, I believe Lucasfilm realised that picking the top 200 marchers out of 800 people was quite a challenge!! So it appears they took another route in choosing people. I don't want to start any controversy though

I'd like to say congrats to the Fett who did get selected! Does anyone have any idea who it was?

Sorry mate, it wasn't my intention to stir anything up. Its just a real shame you didn't get the chance to show off, IMO, a fantastic costume.

    Hope i didn't offend you

As for the selection process, sorry you weren't picked but your comments about not watching the parade now that you aren't going come off sounding like nothing more than sour grapes. There's plenty of worthy troops going and believe it or not, it wasn't random. There was a lot of in depth video watching to get to that point. Trust me. You may not agree with all the selections but believe me, there was a lot of thought behind them.

As for who IS going, I am. Not as Fett though... as a stormtrooper. I was one of the 200 selected to be flown to Los Angeles to march in the 2007 Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day. Its going to be amazing to troop with so many folks from all around the world!

So, that aside... will the Rose Parade Boba and Jango please stand up? You've gotta come from here right?

i think it would be ok... i had enough TDH mods present for the thong photos that there's some level of implied consent there

Oh for cryin' out loud ... this thread is derailing. Lemme try and get it semi-back-on-track by sayin' "congrats Darren."

As for the sour grapes, I knew I wasn't going to march in the parade as my Stormtrooper, I really sucked at marching. The members of my garrison who marched and practiced for months, who were really good at what they did, got pushed out for the garrison officers, that's what upset me about the whole thing. If you were in my garrison during the marching and selection process, you might understand my opposition.

I am not jealous that Darren got selected, I think it's great!! He's got a great Fett and he will represent us all in the parade
