My 501st info used against me

That sucks, I hope any kind of action will be taking against the poster of the ad.

Bummer. That is one of the scary things about the internet. I hope Craigslist does something about it.

Go get 'em! Juvenile behavior like that needs to be dealt with before it escalates.

It kinda sucks that a profile intended for entertainment purposes can be used for this nature. Ruins the whole costuming gig for everyone except the idiots trying to mess with you.

Good luck fixing the problem. I hope that it gets rectified soon.

they can set your profile to classified. it might take a couple of days, but it can be done.

Just got an email reply. That was quick!

The post was removed, but they won't tell the poster info without a subpoena. We have one of the best computer crimes guys in the state at work. Maybe he can backtrack a little, on his off-time of course.

I'm just glad the post is gone. I can deal with the hate and the names, I get that everyday.

Darn man ... that is just awful. I'm glad to hear the post was removed and that somebody is looking further into it. And yes, your bucket-off picture can be removed from your profile (but it may take a little bit of time.) Just ask your GWL.

I'm one of the Legion's Web Deputies (howdy partner ) ... we can remove your email and your bucket off pic if you'd like while keeping your name or like Brian said, you can just be set to classified. That's up to you. If you're set to classified though I'm not sure what that does to your voting status when it comes to Legion votes for LCO etc... I'm not 100% sure how that works. Course, Brian could tell you since he's one of the Legion's web monkeys.

i actually don' know the membership database stuff very well at all... i can muddle through it in a pinch, but that's darren's baby. (doh! word censor bleeped out the name of the app!)

That was one of the first things I requested when I joined the 501st. No face photo. It was not a problem.

1st of all, I have respect for anyone in law enforcement. People forget that you guy's have feelings, a soul and a conscience. Some people are disgruntled. What a shame.

I do think it id a shame thid happened. I knew sooner or later it might. It is pure and simple harassment. Let me know how it goes. I really do not want this to happen to me. ansd waould consider removeing my helemt off pic as well. It is just a shame that our profession would prevent us fromeenjoying some psitive attention frome our fellow costumers. Aslo I never realized hoe meany 501st are law enforcement based employees of one type or another.

The post was pulled last night. That's about all that will happen. The non-driving fools can hate all they want, I get that all the time, I could care less. They call it harrassment, I say, "quit breaking the law" and you won't see me again.

I still want my full armor picture to show, I put a lot of time into that thing.

Yeah, I haven't been real happy with my info being up their either. I'd like it if registered forum members could actually view more than just what I have public, but for public viewing, googling, and such... I'd like a lot less.

I saw a photo of you in front of what looked like the SLO Court House (across the street from the Freemont). Was curious if that is where you serve. I use to live in SLO and just miss it ever so much

This reminds me of a similar thing that just happened where a woman's daughter was being harrassed at school so she registered a facebook account and posed as a young boy. She then proceeded to harass the girl who was giving her daughter beef until she committed suicide. Internet privacy is a huge deal.

Got it all figured out. Gotta give props to craigslist, they've deleted all the posts that make reference to me, and put some blocks in place so it hopefully won't happen again. Until then, I'll keep checking, saving, and having the posts deleted.

man...i hear ya on this whole thread...im in the same line of work. luckily noone around here, that i know of, has made any comments about me in the 501st...except of course the constant razz i get from coworkers, and the occasional picture posted in the squad room.
