    MOW JP Harness System (Prototype)

    Hey Guys,

I wanted to give you a sneak peek on a new Jet Pack harness I'll be offering. The one shown here is a finished prototype with some last bits of sewing needed but you get the general idea. I designed the nearly 3/8" metal bracket for both contour and esthetics. I sent my CAD drawings to a metal fabricator who then made the brackets on a computer run machine. Once I receive the finished brackets by mail I then take them to a local welder who welds the 2 cross bars. It's a very costly process taking several weeks to make. In the photos the bracket is seen tilting downward a bit but this is due to the contour of the mannequin torso. When worn though it sits level. As for the nylon harness, They're hand made modeled after a high-end scuba harness design. Even included a hard to get metal cam buckle from my British source. It's extremely comfortable to wear due to it's 15 degree bend at the midway point. I had originally planned to have the brackets rubber coated but I fell in love with raw metal look, burns an all. I had to trim away quite a lot of nylon strapping for these torso shots. I plan to take some photos of the harness actually being worn for true scale. The design allows a Jet Pack to slide over the bracket at it's 90 degree lip. Simply cut out a narrow slit into the bottom back section of your Jet Pack to allow the bracket entry. This harness will prevent your Jet Pack from riding down your back and pressing down on your well painted back armor. You can now achieve a more movie accurate (tilting away from the shoulders) as seen in the ESB Jet Pack and certainly the Jango version Jet Pack. Check back for further updates:

Thanks again for your continued support.

    Best,
    Christian

Re: MOW JP Harness System (Prototype)

    Hey Guys,

    Here's an update:

I've decided to offer this new harness as 2 options. One option is a complete harness package as seen in the photos (metal hardware, cam buckle the works). The 2nd option is for the metal bracket sold separately. Cost for the complete harness package is $260.00 shipped in the US. Cost for the metal bracket sold separately is $160.00 shipped in the US.

I'm very interested in what you guys think is a better choice.."Complete harness package or the bracket only" ???

    Look forward to your thoughts..

    Best,
    Christian

    Looking great!
Reminds my a lot of Dragonfett's harness from a ways back. They are super sturdy and you don't have to worry about your pack ever falling off.
I'm really excited to see you are making these.
Don't forget to put padding in the metal bracket area on the back!

This looks like a great design for Boba. From pictures I have seen, Jango didn't have such a harness as this. But on a practical point of view this would be good to prevent the Jet Pack moving as much.

wasn't there a lower t-bar on the original and the jp had hooks or brackets near the bottom that sat on that bar?

    SN,

Yes, your correct..but I didn't want to make a duplicate of that design. I wanted to keep it simple.

Very nice alternative to most stuff offered....

Being an owner of a ez-kam buckle & webbing I'd pick the Bracket only.

    SN,

Yeah, I think that's the case for a lot of people..They're just not getting it !?

I'll put some reference photos together soon to help explain it

This bracket is designed primarily for my new Class II Boba Jet Pack which will be available in the New Year..

    Hope this helps,

    Haha..

Yeah the new class II Jet Pack is looking pretty sweet..I've nearly redesigned the whole thing. As for the harness, I'm 86'n it for now. I'll redesign it and make it more user friendly then rerelease it along with the new Jet Pack..I'm also considering a new Jango Fett gauntlet with a retractable spring loaded "Talons" or blade detail as used in the Kamino scene..

    BF,

Wow...haven't seen this post in some time.

I've got ah whole box of those metal brackets sitting in my shop..It's a design that wasn't thought out enough and was 86'd..

Cool thing is they're the perfect bracket for hanging a Jetpack on a wall, got several in my shop
