The question is, on the first quote alone, would you have figured it out? Also, I am kinda confused by your statement on being thin?
 
Robot Jox was made in 1990. Empire Pictures went bankrupt during the filming of this, its most expensive film ever. The film was bought by Epic Productions and finished and released nearly two full years after having been first started.
 
Maybe thin was a bad choice of words..i just meant very obscure..i saw it once or twice, and no ..I wouldnt have gotten it without the clues..the one about 50 years in the future and single combat is what got it for me.
