Modern Vader?

The other day, I was browsing through some comments on a force unleashed video on youtube, and I saw some stuff that got me thinking. Two people were arguing about the "coolness differences" between Darth Vader and the Sith Stalker armor, and one guy said that if Episode 4 came out today, Darth Vader would probably be way different in looks and powers.

I started thinking about it, and I realized that this is probably true. How do you guys envision a modern Vader to look like? Would he have different powers? I think that this would be an awesome idea for a costume...

He'd definitely look different if he was designed today, but the greatest thing about the first 3 movies is that the designs they used are timeless. A lot of sci-fi designs don't look cool 30 years later... either because our current technology looks better (flat screens vs the CRTs in Alien) or because styles have changed (Rollerball, Logan's Run). I think most of the designs in Star Wars exist outside of the decade the movies were made... although it's tough to say if that was intentional or just lucky. Except for Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru... they look really 1970's.

He would be over the top to keep the attention of today's kids, and be all CGI and stuff... Meaning he would suck. God forbid Lucas to ever remake those movies (at the rate he's changing the OT, he's already doing it )

Yeah, I would think that he would be mostly CGI, and he would probably be able to use lightning. (Lightning part wouldn't be too bad though... )

Vader can only be the way he is now...though Sith Stalker is an insanely awesome character unfortunately if you really dissect the stalker he's basically a mix between Boussh and Boba Fett when it comes to the head gear... That T shaped visor can never be outdone!

Cant mess with the original.

I wish. Maybe if Lucas remade them he would stop messing with the originals.

A modern Vader would look like the Batman suit at The Dark Knight but with a diferent helmet.

Uhh.... I hope not.

He'd be more robotic and scary. Something like General Grievous.

David Prowse would have had green screen on his arms and legs if the technology was there.

Maybe even the Stormtroopers would be robots.

I recently saw this crazy Batman concept helmet, done by an art student. Pretty cool, you should ask him to do his own take on Vader...
